**It's noted that Waver is better suited to being a magecraft teacher then he is a mage, as he has an excellent grasp of theory and book study, but lacking the ablity to pull it off. He's able to bring out the best in his students, to the point that becoming his student is a big deal. This is compared to a sports coach who, while unable to physically pull of the feats they're instructing, is able to bring out the best in a natrually skilled athelete. In this regard he greatly surpasses Kayneth, even if his own feats are lackluster.

He's renowned for how good he is at teaching, with all of his students becoming first-rate magi before they turn 21. He's less interested in this and more in his own personal growth, but that doesn't stop him from earning accolades for his work.
