Weirdmageddon is stopped when Stan stops Mabel from running away after her fight with Dipper. The Pines family talks it out, Dipper and Mabel stay in Gravity Falls and all is well... Well... almost... Bill is still out there and is planning ways to enter the world. Three years afterwards, the four Pines perform a ritual that will separate a piece of their spirits to act as guides to whoever will be the ones to be members of the Zodiac, though they will activate when all four of them are dead. As the years go on, Dipper and Mabel grow up, have kids of their own and people develop Super Powers known as Quirks...

Centuries later in Japan, a boy named Izuku who doesn't have a quirk is attacked by a villain and knocked out. During this Bill approaches him, making it seem like he will be able to make Izuku a hero in exchange for a "puppet" then he steals Izuku's body. Thankfully the spirits of the Pines are there to help him. With their help, along with the help of Izuku's childhood friend turned bully turned back to being friend, the top Hero School UA, the Number 1 Hero All Might and his new high school classmates, Izuku hopes to get his body back. But it won't be easy, considering that Bill not only has help of his own but abilities that Izuku can possibly fight against.

Rise of Team Zodiac contains examples of:

• Abusive Parents: Thanks to both Filbrick and the Northwests, all four Pines have a hatred of them. To the extent that they begin to haunt Endeavor after learning he is one.
• Adapted Out: Post-series, Alex Hirsch had stated that Fiddleford McGucket ran for and eventually became the 45th President of the United States. This was taken out as another statement from Alex said that Stan canonically knew Donald Trump, and Emma decided to make a Running Gag about Stan blackmailing the President for Rule of Funny, and felt Trump would work more than McGucket.
• Affectionate Nickname: Stan most of the time calls Izuku "Green Bean"
• Armor-Piercing Question:
  • Bizuku gives one to Katsuki after Katsuki rejects he offer of joining him.
    Bizuku: You think All Might goes around and tells people to kill themselves?
  • Ochaco gives one to Bill when he tries to get her on his side and tells her he just wants to escape the dimension he's trapped and party.
    Ochaco: Regular fun party or wild destructive party?
• The Atoner: Both All Might and Katsuki blame themselves for what happened to Izuku and both try to make up for it.
• Babies Ever After: Mabel and her unknown husband had three children (one of which would be among the first people with a Quirk) while Dipper and Pacifica had a son who would go onto marry Wendy's daughter.
• Big "NO!": Mabel lets loose one when Katsuki tries to show everyone the puppet show.
• Bittersweet Ending: The USJ, the teachers are mostly unscathed while Shigaraki and Kurogiri suffer from very humiliating defeats. Bizuku on the other hand completely trounces Team Zodiac but also gives Izuku a very harsh "Reason You Suck" Speech to him that sends him into a depression with Bill planning to enter their dreams now that he's introduced himself.
• Cooldown Hug: Izuku gives Katsuki one while he's having his breakdown during the Heroes VS. Villains exercise.
• Curb-Stomp Battle:
  • Mabel VS. Shigaraki. With the combination of Mabel being immune to his quirk and her knowing how to box, the villain didn't stand a chance.
  • Shoto VS. Toru. She was very much aware that this was the case as the canon match happened during battle training still happened and she knew she didn't stand a chance.
• Don't Look At Me: Kaminari yells this at Shiozaki when she notices him in the cheerleader uniform.
• Dragged into Drag: Mabel not only stops Mineta and Kaminari's prank, but also makes them be the the ones to wear the cheerleader uniforms.
• Dream Walker: One of the abilities that Izuku has after Bill stole his body.
• Everyone Has Standards: The Manotaurs. They helped Mabel with the anti-quirk riot as there is nothing manly about attacking a mother just because her child is different.
• Famed In-Story: The Pines sans Stan. Dipper and Ford went on to become the first researchers of Quirks while Mabel became a figure known as "The Fighting Mama" after she fought off an anti-Quirk mob, with the help of lumberjacks, Manotaurs and Gnomes (though the latter two are often neglected by history for obvious reasons). Pacifica was also famous due to her philanthropy. McGucket is mentioned to be an idol of Power Loader. Later Robbie is mentioned to have become a rockstar.
• For Want Of A Nail:
  • The first one is a literal case as the story starts when Stan is unable to find nails to put up signs in the forest, because of this he's able to catch Mabel before she could run out of the house and give Bill the rift. As a result, Weirdmageddon never happens, and a lot of things that only came about because of it never occur.
    • The most obvious of course is that Bill remained free to torment everyone for decades.
    • Gideon never undergoes his Heel–Face Turn, and remains an agent of Bill's for the three years before the ritual occurs, even being broken out of jail repeatedly by Bill and kidnapping Mabel repeatedly.
    • Stan and Ford are forced to reconcile after being tied up by Dipper, Mabel, and Wendy, and the two agree to let Dipper stay in Gravity Falls so long as his parents approve and Mabel gets to stay too.
    • With the Zodiac never formed directly, the Pines never discover that Wendy, McGucket, and Pacifica held the Ice, Glasses, and Llama respectively.^* The closest they get is the idea they can just give someone the Llama sweater Mabel has if need be. Likewise, without it forcing everyone to work together to stop Bill, Dipper still doesn't like Robbie much, and tends to groan whenever he or the Stitched Heart is brought up.
    • With them never being humbled by losing their fortune, Preston and Priscilla Northwest remain abusive to Pacifica, outright disowning her after she married Dipper.
  • Bill stealing Izuku's body causes many changes, the first is that Bizuku tells All Might to make sure that the bottles don't fall out of his pocket.
  • Thanks to the nightmares Bill gives Katsuki, the two end up as friends again.
  • When All Might calls in Dave for a specially built robot body for Izuku, All Might tells his friend that he's okay with retiring one day as nothing lasts forever, this will definitely have a huge effect on I-Expo.
  • Izuku ends up getting the top spot during the entrance exam, much to Katsuki's annoyance.
  • The class election results in a three way tie between Izuku, Tenya and Yaoyorozu. Izuku back out thanks to a combination of him thinking he wouldn't be a good class rep and Kaminari making a "puppet king" joke.
  • During the USJ Dipper is able to send a message to his family who inform the school what's going on, causing All Might to arrive much sooner, sparing both Thirteen and Aizawa the worse of their injuries (though Aizawa's elbow is still injured).
  • Bizuku injures Katsuki, Ochaco, Tenya, Mezo and Shoto during the USJ, with Shoto having the worst injuries.
  • Thanks to Bill's speech, Izuku drops out of the Sports Festival.
  • As his declaration of war reminded them of Bill's speech, Team Zodiac, Kirishima, Tsuyu, Toru and Mineta all gain an intense dislike of Shinso.
  • Izuku gives the "It's your power" speech" after rescuing Shoto from Bill. Also thanks to the fact he can't sleep, Izuku comes up with ideas that Shoto can use to combine his quirk. Shoto is also more sociable with the class because of this as he ends up sitting with his classmates during the Sports Festival.
  • Thanks to mostly different teams, Mezo and Toru both make it to the tournament portion of the Sports Festival. Mezo later makes it to the second round.
  • Mabel not only stops Mineta and Kaminari's prank, but ends up forcing the two to wear cheerleader uniforms... girl's cheerleader uniforms. This also prevents Kaminari from hitting on Shiozaki during their match, as she saw him the the costume.
  • Katsuki is the one who faces Shinso during the sports festival and ends up telling him he can be a hero, albeit in his own way.
  • Thanks to a combination of altered matches, Tokoyami loses in the the second round again Shoto, while Mina who faces off against Mezo, ends up in the semi-finals.
  • Bizuku saves Tensei from getting his injury. Also because of this Tenya is there to accept the medal in the Sports Festival
  • As he had started to use his fire weeks before the Sports Festival, Shoto ends up beating Katsuki during the finals of the Sports Festival.
  • Thanks to a suggestion from Izuku, Toru begins to wear headbands.
  • Due to Bill saving him and hearing about what Izuku went through and how much his brother admires him, Tensei offers Izuku an internship.
• Grand Theft Me: It's the main conflict of the story.
• Hands Go Down: When Ford asks for questions after giving an explanation to Class 1-A about Bill:
  Ford: Now I know this is a lot of take in… but are there anymore questions.
  (Asui, Kaminari and Jiro all put their hands up)
  Stan: (In English): Wait Ford. You're dealing with a bunch of teenagers.
  Ford: (In English): Oh you're quite right… (Switches to Japanese) And before any of you ask, no I won't show you how I flip people off nor will I explain it.
  (Kaminari and Jiro put their hands down)
• In Spite of a Nail:
  • Izuku still wrecks his body saving Ochaco from the Zero Pointer, granted it's a robot body that David Shield built for him and not his real body.
  • Tenya still becomes class representative, albeit winning after a run off instead of Izuku giving the position to him.
  • Team Todoroki is the same as canon.
  • Many of the matches in the tournament are the same as canon though their placements are altered slightly.
  • The Final Match of the Sports Festival is still Shoto VS. Katsuki... though the match itself is much different.
• It's All My Fault: Katsuki completely blames himself for Bill taking Izuku's body, feeling if he hadn't bullied him or done that suicide dare it wouldn't have happened.
• Let Us Never Speak of This Again:
  • When they bring up the Lepricorn almost ascending to godhood, Dipper points out they all agreed to that.
  • Downplayed, after Mabel shows off how much she doesn't want them to see the puppet show, Mezo says that they will never speak of it unless they have to.
• Mama Bear: Mabel, who in the past fought off an anti-quirk riot as her son was one of the first with a quirk.
• Morton's Fork: Dealing with Izuku's depression proves to be this for the rest of Team Zodiac, waiting to deal with it will make it worse with time but dealing with now will cause Izuku to feel guilty that he's cutting into time that could be spent training for the sports festival which would also make it worse.
• My God, You Are Serious!: Bizuku to Katsuki when he says he wants to be a hero.
• Mythology Gag: Sero points out that Toru's loss against Shoto could have been worse, as he could have trapped her in a giant iceberg.
• Noodle Incident:
  • Whatever Dipper and Mabel did while they tied up Stan and Ford.
  • Stan and Ford both refuse to talk about their history with Rick Sanchez
  • While discussing the ritual, Mabel and Stan bring up incidents such as "The thing with the giant woodchuck", "The time with the Polynesian Lava God" and "The time the Lepricorn almost ascended to god hood".
  • Stan teaching Koda to fight dirty during the USJ, all that's known about it is that Stan tries to get Koda to hit someone in the nuts.
• Obviously Not Fine:
  • Izuku after the USJ. He keeps saying he's fine, but everyone can see through it, especially when he suggests that their first course of action next time they see his body is to kill it in order to deprive Bill of the use of it.
  • After Izuku recovers from his depression, Katsuki claims he's fine after talking to Shinso. However due to his classmates reactions of his claims he realizes what he's doing and talks to Izuku in order to fix it.
• Odd Friendship: Mabel and Aizawa, they bond over their shared love of cats. They're close enough that Mabel gives him a sweater with a cat head for Christmas.
• Old Shame: In universe. Mabel really doesn't like the puppet show. When a video of it found she's only willing to let people see the fight between her and Bipper and only that. When Katsuki tries to play it to bring levity, she ends up breaking the laptop so that no one could see it.
• A Rare Sentence: During a conversation between Aizawa and All Might
  Aizawa: Stop blaming yourself… now if you excuse me I have to help explain to my class about how at most 10 of them will have to prevent the end of the world by fighting an evil triangle who stole their classmate's body.
  (Beat)
  All Might: This won't stop being weird… will it?
  Aizawa: No...
• "Reason You Suck" Speech: Bizuku gives a particularly brutal to Izuku:
  Bizuku: Let's say you manage to beat me out of your body in the future? You think you'd be able to stay in the hero course? This quirk that I got only works for me! You'll go back to being quirkless! You'd still have a quirk, but it will be like it was never there! You'll never be a hero Freckles! [...] Oh and I'm sure that you heard about my plans for Pine Tree's body when I was done for it! Nope I'm definitely giving it back! Because it will be so much more fun watching your dreams crumble! Face it kid! If you thought a strange triangle you met in a dream could make you into a hero, there's no way you can ever be one!
• Sarcastic Confession: Marty gives one to Endeavor when Endeavor asks about the the fact that the blood found in his room belongs to Marty's great-great-grandfather Marty decides to respond that he's being haunted and the paranormal is real. Endeavor just brushes it off as Marty being crazy.
• Secret-Keeper: Izuku, the Pines, Katsuki and later the rest of Team Zodiac learn about about All Might's health issues.
• Shipper on Deck: Mabel wants to set up Izuku and Ochaco.
• Shout-Out:
  • Both Stan and Ford admit to knowing Rick Sanchez
  • Ghostbusters is often mentioned, with this reference taking the cake:
    Kaminari: So… I guess we have to worry about cats and dogs living together.
    Dipper: It's the mass hysteria we have to be more worried about.
  • Much like the above Star Wars is often mentioned. Including hanging lampshades to Canon's tendency to do so.
  • When Mabel gives Izuku ideas of what he can do during the night, she sings a song from Star vs. the Forces of Evil
  • At the USJ, Stan calls the location Universal Studios while also giving the news that Bill is there, Mabel immediately plays along bemoaning that now he'll take over Hogwarts.
  • One of the villains during the USJ in a daze thinks he's in Disneyland
• Strange Minds Think Alike: In chapter 25, after stopping Bill from giving Tenya nightmares, Izuku considers watching All Might fight dinosaurs but thinks Tenya wouldn't be interested so they just end up playing board games instead. The next chapter, after learning that's all they did, Mabel wonders why Izuku didn't watch All Might fight dinosaurs. This worries Izuku a little and thinks he might be spending too much time with Mabel.
• Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Mezo and Katsuki's relationship. Bill shows Mezo the history between Katsuki and Izuku in order to make sure that the two can't work together long enough to hold each other's hands if they're able to activate the Zodiac. But thanks to Stan, Mezo realizes that they do have to work together and being at each other's throats will be what Bill wants. This also extends to the Sports Festival where Mezo joins Katsuki's team for this very reason.
• This Is Gonna Suck: Koda has this reaction when Stan offers to teach him how to fight dirty.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Downplayed. Thanks to everything that happened, Katsuki has since become Izuku's friend again, although he's still a foul mouthed hothead.
• Trauma Button: If he tries to hurt Izuku no mater if he's in a robot body or if it's Bizuku, causes Katsuki to suffer a breakdown.
• Tranquil Fury: After Shinso attempt to make his declaration of war to the class, Tenya asks everyone to leave. While he is calm everyone could tell he was incredibly angry.
• Villainous Rescue: Bizuku rescues Tensei from Stain. The reason he gives is that if Tenya is going to suffer, it will be by his hands.
• We Can Rule Together: Bizuku makes this offer to Katsuki, though he quickly declines as his goal is to be a hero.
• Wham Episode:
  • Chapter 10, Bizuku reveals that All for One gave him a quirk that allows the body to use the soul's natural abilities, meaning he can use a fraction of his powers while in Izuku's body and when Izuku gets it back he will be functionally quirkless.
  • Chapter 22 Bizuku saves Tensei from Stain
• Xanatos Gambit: Bill's goal when it came to Katsuki's nightmares. Either Katsuki would be so horrified after feeling everything Izuku did that he would not bear to ever hurt him again or he would be driven to suicide. Obviously the former is what happens.
