Has any material aside from the implications of the Love-Love Stick ever explicitly mentioned this? As far as I'm aware, that motive of Zero's is considered Fanon.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: It has no stated motivation for invading planets and spreading darkness around. It also has (seemingly) no personality or even lines. On the other hand, some material says [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery it lashes out because it never felt anything but negative emotions, thus it spreads those to others.]]

pupupu taizen is written by the actual devs for the series and not just like, a secondary source like hyrule encyclopedia was, so it's very much taken as canon

** It's painfully obvious it's related to Zero, the real question being whether it's the ''exact'' same character. The fact that 0[[superscript:2]] wears two plasters underneath its halo, roughly corresponding to the location of where the eye ([[BizarreAlienBiology or was it an iris?]]) burst out of the original Zero seems to lend credence to the idea that it is the original, only reincarnated somehow, but it's still left vague. A picture in ''Star Allies'' that shows all of the series' final bosses, except for new forms of the same character that appeared later, has both Zero and 0[[superscript:2]], suggesting they're not the same entity.
