* UnexpectedCharacter: Who would've predicted that Arbiter would've gotten into ''Killer Instinct''? At least Rash was another Creator/{{Rare}} character!

* UnexpectedCharacter: Nobody expected that ''Killer Instinct'' would have a guest fighter, let alone from the ''Battletoads'' franchise.

* ObviousBeta: Mostly {{averted|Trope}}. Rash, obviously, had a LOT of work put into him for his temp play period for August, but he only had 3 special moves moves (with shadow versions of each; only one can be used as a linker in a combo, which limits his combo variety), a handful of command attacks to work with, no taunt, his Ultra was a single giant punch that [[PunchedAcrosstheRoom sent the opponent flying]], and his animations weren't quite finished.

* GutturalGrowler: When not being a ScreamingWarrior.

* BonusBoss: Fighting Shadow Jago is not required to see all character endings, but defeating him will net you the secret ending that teases [[spoiler:ARIA]] and a new map, the [[PlaceOfPower Shadow Tiger's Lair]].

Aganos is one of the ancient war golems created by the artisans of Babylon. He was the most obedient and powerful of his kind, as the last remaining he was made servant to the king. After Kan-Ra's failed attempt to take the throne, Aganos captured him and allowed the king to curse him. Years later when it was revealed that the sorceror lingered on, the king gave Aganos one final task: to end Kan-Ra once and for all. During this journey Aganos and his target were captured by the Night Guard, putting his quest on pause until Ultratech released them. Now their game of cat-and-mouse continues, except this is one giant and persistent cat.

Shadow Jago is a form Jago takes when he succumbs to the darkness of Gargos, allowing Omen control his body. For an undisclosed amount of time, this ferocious warrior travelled the world to defeat those who would oppose Gargos and transmit their energies to his master, such as Tusk. Upon coming back to his senses and expelling Omen from his body, Jago learned that Shadow Jago had manifested as a separate entity elsewhere and continued to serve Gargos.

* VirtuousCharacterCopy: She's basically a lift of [[Literature/TheRing Sadako Yamamura]], right down to her movements and "glitching out". However, whereas Sadako went after anyone who'd dare play the haunted video tape she was in and didn't care too much if others got in the way, Hisako strictly went after Ultratech because they plundered her gravesite. [[spoiler:Season 3 would have her ascend from a vengeful Onryō into a much more heroic guardian spirit Shin Hisako]].
