* CatSmile: His [[SuperDeformed chibi form]] in ''Yuugiroku'', and all the time in the ''VideoGame/AkaSeka'' collab. He also pulls one in the ''Sekkaroku'' OVA while trolling Hijikata.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Somewhat of an InformedAbility. In Okita's route, [[TheAce Okita]] says that Kondou is much stronger than him - and in Saito's Memory he notes that Kondou is basically invincible when he gets serious. However, he's rarely seen fighting on-screen. Aside from the Ikedaya Incident, the only time he really gets to demonstrate his combat prowess it's trading blows with Kazama, who comments that Kondou is not a weakling but doesn't break a sweat either.

* SenpaiKohai: He calls Chizuru "Yukimura-senpai".

* PeekABangs: His bangs cover his left eye no matter the length of his hair.

* NavelDeepNeckline: Wears outfits that show off his [[RatedMForManly "beef cakes"]].

* TestosteronePoisoning: His eagerness to demonstrate his [[RatedMForManly "manliness"]] is always played for laughs. [[PluckyComicRelief Like a lot of things with Nagakura]].

* {{Keigo}}: Some find him difficult to translate because he uses very polite speech with social superiors.

* {{Keigo}}: Similar to [[VideoGame/SengokuBasara Oichi]] in that Chizuru calls her "Osen-chan".

* BladeOnAStick: Like the historical Sanosuke, his preferred weapon is a spear.

* BadassBaritone: Courtesy of Creator/KenjiroTsuda, he's got the deepest voice in the game and is definitely a badass. Also overlaps with EvilSoundsDeep.

* TheChick: Is literally the only woman directly involved with the Shinsengumi, and as the years pass she becomes both a mediator and a comforting influence for the higher-ups in the organization, even the ones she's not romantically involved with.

* SempaiKouhai: He calls Chizuru "Yukimura-senpai".
