Both of them worked hard to become a member of Hekiyou's Student Council, but whereas Ken is a ChivalrousPervert, resident ButtMonkey and [[ProudToBeAGeek proud H-game aficionado]] (only [[BleachedUnderpants all-ages versions]], [[BlatantLies he says]]) who is actually a [[StepfordSmiler hiding a lot of hurt]] [[HiddenDepths beyond the surface]], Konoha is an equal-opportunity CovertPervert, well-respected StudentCouncilPresident, and [[ClosetGeek Closet]] {{Eroge}} GamerChick who is actually a lot [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex more insecure about herself than she pretends to be]], but all in all a better adjusted person without Ken's baggage weighing her down. Being a bit [[HaremSeeker too overjoyed that the rest of the Student Council are cute girls]] is a constant, though. It's also established that she's been seeking out a legendary eroge he hid somewhere on campus.

* GamerGirl: Chiaki is a fairly typical gamer girl.

** Keita's utter lack of self-esteem is a major part of why he's ObliviousToLove regarding [[SchoolIdol Karen]]'s blatant stalking of him. This sense of worthlessness is so ingrained in him that even after she accepts when he accidentally asks her out, he's pretty convinced that she just spoke in the heat of the moment like he did (not untrue) and is only using him as TheBeard to hide an affair with Tasuku (definitely not the case).

** He thinks too little of himself [[ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe to even consider that she might like him romantically]], and even after he starts dating her, he's pretty quick to believe that she might be interested in someone else and only is using him as TheBeard.

* OedipusComplex: Since her father was [[ParentalNeglect always working]] and never made time for his family, Main and Mii grew up resenting him and loving their mother instead. Notably, when she tells Keita that she loves him, she mentions she saw something in him that she wished her mother could have exhibited more of.

* GuiltyPleasure: He fully admits that Nobe's games aren't really that good and his enjoyment of them is irrational, but he's a dedicated fan regardless and can appreciate when Nobe puts out work that is a labor of love even if the final product is of low quality because he can tell that Nobe is DoingItForTheArt[[invoked]].

* {{Keigo}}: As the series progresses, she eventually lapses to a personality where she communicates in formal and polite linguistics at all times.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Downplayed; she's a domestic barefooter. In school or public, she uses shoes and socks, but at home and in her most casual clothes, she's always barefoot. It's noticeable because in Episode 9, she only puts on a pair of slip-on sandals while going outside in her at-home clothes (sweats), and when she invites Amano over, he wears guest slippers and she just pads around barefooted. She also likes wiggling her headphone cord between her bare toes, so it's pretty clear she prefers her tootsies to be free.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Downplayed as well. She's always barefoot at home, just like her sister. [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gamers_ep_10_hoshinomori_sisters_casual.png Episode 10 makes it obvious]] the Hoshinomori sisters have this barefooter aspect in common.
