->''"I want his power. I want to make him mine and become one with him."''

The third Spirit to appear, and the most brutal so far, with a kill count of over 10,000, and one of the few Spirits so far in the series to actively kill people with her powers rather than by spacequakes alone. She kills her targets by dragging them into her shadow, "eating" them, thus replenishing her lifespan so she can cast her powers.
----
* AbnormalAmmo: Zafkiel’s bullets are condensed bits of her shadow.
* AntiVillain: Eventually becomes this, given her actual goal is [[spoiler:to travel back in time to prevent the birth of the First Spirit, whose spacequake killed 150 million people and was the cause for the births of other Spirits. Doing so will retcon all the deaths she caused in preparation for it. After meeting Nia and learning she can't beat the First Spirit no matter what, she decides to kill the people who summoned it into the world, Westcott, Ellen, and Elliot.]]
* ArchEnemy: Mana considers killing Kurumi her life’s purpose. Kurumi doesn’t take her too seriously.
* AxCrazy: Wastes little time in demonstrating just how much of a psycho she is, killing people left and right with pleasure, though most of her victims appear to be AssholeVictims. Luckily, it seems Shido's influence has helped her mellow out of this over time, but not fully.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: Season 2/Volume 7. Even if it's for her own agenda, she saves Shido from Miku and provides the opportunity Shido needs to save Tohka from DEM and to help Miku from herself.
* BecomingTheMask: [[spoiler:More like becoming the clone in her case, by Volume 16 it's clear that she's fallen in love with Shido like the one clone she killed on the rooftop and during the Star Festival side story.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She seems like a nice, [[TheTease if extremely flirtatious]] girl. Then she starts killing people...
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: It's hard to tell whether her motives are good or bad. On one hand, she's devouring people to keep her time-based powers functional, intending to [[spoiler:accumulate enough to travel to the past and kill the First Spirit and prevent the 150 million deaths it caused]]. On the other, she makes those killings as sadistic as possible, and seems to have connections with Phantom, whose motivations are even more mysterious. [[spoiler:Volume 16 reveals that she met the First Spirit, Mio Takamiya, and got her powers from her only to be betrayed when her actions led to her murdering her best friend Sawa Yamauchi. This nearly caused her to Inverse, an event that instilled Kurumi with burning hatred toward Spirits as well as broke her enough to turn her AxCrazy.]]
* BreakoutCharacter: Although she was always intended as a major character, being one of the Spirits around which the plot revolves, Kurumi is arguably the series' most popular Spirit. She even has her own spin-off novel: ''Date A Live Fragment: LightNovel/DateABullet''.
* CastFromLifespan: Her 12 Bullet time powers. A rare case of the lifespan being replenishable... by absorbing the lifespan or Spirit mana of others (making this closer to CastFromHitPoints). After [[spoiler:being defeated by Kotori]], she hasn't been shown killing people anymore (at least onscreen), just drains them.
* CastingAShadow: Manipulating shadows is her primary power. Kurumi can use her own shadow to phase into the ground or walls, as well as summon white-colored CreepilyLongArms from it. It also functions as storage, as she can store her clones and even other people within it.
* CatchPhrase: "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUzxd8aof0 Ara Ara....]]''"
* CloningBlues: Her clones are all Kurumi's past selves, and have a will on their own. In ''[[OriginalVideoAnimation Date A Live: Encore]]'' Kurumi asks Shido to spend the day with her, and to remember her when it's over. The ''real'' Kurumi appears at the end of the day, explaining that "self" who is dating Shido is the clone who was preparing to make a HeelFaceTurn in Season 1, accidentally recreated and electing to spend as much time as possible with the person she's falling in love with, knowing that the real Kurumi will hunt her down and murder her. [[spoiler:As of Volume 16, many of her clones are killed in order for her to use her Sixth Bullet to help Shido, though with the Sixth Bullet only sends back her consciousness to a a past version that had not yet regained the Sixth Bullet. In turn, this causes her to regain the time she spent and clones sacrificed with each loop.]]
* CreepyCoolCrosses: [[spoiler: After bonding with Nia's Qlipha Crystal and transforming it into a Sephira Crystal, she gains a new Astral Dress that is decorated with them.]]
* CosplayOtakuGirl: If her Astral Dress wasn't enough of a clue, a side story has her going {{Meido}} outfit with Origami.
* CrazyPrepared:
** In Volume 17 [[spoiler:shortly before Shido decided to seal all of her bullets, she put into action a contingency plan just in case something were to happen to either of them during the sealing. Knowing that he sealed Vav during the events of Volume 16, but also knowing that he isn't aware that he has it, she creates a clone and and sends her one hour ahead in time with orders to tell Shido of this fact. This ends up paying dividends, as Kurumi's fear of a third-party intervention comes true and she is killed by Mio before the sealing can be done. One hour later, the clone manages to get her message to Shido and expires shortly after (due to it being exactly one hour after Kurumi dies). Shido then uses this knowledge to use Vav's MentalTimeTravel ability to jump back in time 24 hours.]]
** In Volume 21 [[spoiler:Kurumi manages to survive, knowing that the clone body she transferred her memories and Sephira crystal to would disappear once the spirit powers were gone. After Mio discarded her original body, the clone used Dalet to restore it before transferring her memories and crystal back.]]
* CuteAndPsycho: Unlike the rest of the Spirits who are sweet or {{Tsundere}}, her sweetness is only a front for her psychotic personality. It doesn't seem the cute half is completely fake as she killed some guys for hurting a defenseless kitten, it's just her psychotic side is more prominent.
* DarkActionGirl: Unlike the other Spirits, she is very aware of her murderous actions, and is the most dangerous one to date with a [[RankInflation S]]-level threat classification, [[spoiler:Inverse Spirits notwithstanding]]. She even manages to defeat Tohka, Origami and Mana successively during her date with Shido, and later on stall out [[AnIcePerson Yoshino]] and the [[LightningBruiser Yamai sisters]], who were under Miku's control. Note that she doesn't hurt them or Miku because Shido specifically asks her not to.
* DarkIsEvil: She's able to control shadows as part of her powers, and prominently dresses in dark colours save for her red Astral Dress (which is partially black, by the way). She's also completely bonkers as far as Spirits go.
* DeerInTheHeadlights: When [[spoiler:Efreet!Kotori]] charges her Angel to attack Kurumi, rather than efficiently dodge it, Kurumi instead asks her clones to shield her, even though moments earlier the same Angel cleaved through her clones with ease. [[spoiler:Volume 16 reveals this was likely the result of the traumatic memory of killing the original Camael wielder, her best friend Sawa Yamauchi.]]
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Her entire world shatters when she discovers she murdered her best friend, not even realizing it was her at first. She narrowly avoided Inversion by “rewinding” herself with her Fourth Bullet.]]
* {{Determinator}}: In Volume 16, [[spoiler:she uses [[MentalTimeTravel Vav]] over 200 times to avert Shido’s death. Her own clones point out that she clearly doesn’t just view Shido as prey anymore if she’s that determined to save him.]]
* DramaPreservingHandicap: Kurumi has two, surprisingly enough. [[spoiler:First was caused by her duel with her best friend Sawa Yamauchi, the previous owner of Camael, the memory of killing Sawa traumatizes Kurumi to a point where she cannot fight effectively against Camael again. The second one was given when she gave a secret "thank you kiss" to an unconscious Shido back then in Volume 4, as the kiss accidentally managed to seal her Sixth Bullet in Zafkiel. If Kurumi was able to utilize her full abilities against Kotori, the story would probably have ended in Volume 3 with her devouring Shido, and she would have a much easier time advancing the rest of her plans if she could use her MentalTimeTravel.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Downplayed. A girl that seems to resemble Kurumi can be seen during Episode 5, but unlike Yoshino and the Yamai twins it's too blurry to confirm if it's actually her or not.
* EasilyForgiven: Played straight with Shido, who continuously treats her with kindness and insists there is some good in her. Subverted with the other Spirits.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Her Astral Dress invokes this with its black and crimson and black frills, though she isn't a loli.
* EnemyMine: She helps Shido during Miku's arc, after the latter uses a MindControlMusic on almost the entire cast, turning them all against him. She doesn't make it clear why she's helping him though, whether to repay him for [[spoiler:stopping Kotori from killing her]], or because ItAmusedMe. [[spoiler:Volume 16 seems to imply the former case to be true.]]
* EvilLaugh: Quite a few times (it sounds like “Kihihihi!”), notably when she sets off a spacequake before her duel with [[spoiler:Kotori in her Spirit form]].
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Her constantly-covered left eye is ''literally'' the face of a Victorian Pocket-Watch.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Her PeekABangs while she's wearing her school uniform covers only her [[MagicalEye left eye]], and as for [[GirlishPigtails her hairstyle]] while she's wearing her Astral Dress, her hair is longer on the left side than on the right, resembling the hands on a clock.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler:She somehow ended up in another world and was attacked by a shadowy monster, and then saved by Mio Takmiya who reveals it's a spirit which is a destroyer of the world. Kurumi accepts Mio's offer to gain power to help her stop them, but eventually discovers what Spirits truly are when she discovers she murdered her best friend. Feeling she was used, she resolves to kill Mio so the Spirits will never appear in the world.]]
* FriendlyEnemy: It seems that after Shidou's actions at the end of her arc has caused Kurumi to cease antagonizing Shidou and his group, although she is clearly still after him.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Just not human beings... or at least the nastier side of humanity considering the people we've actually seen her kill are not exactly saints. [[spoiler:Turns out she only hates the First Spirit (who might not even be human), and the ones who summoned the entity. It is also implied Kurumi sees other Spirits as unknown victims just like her.]]
* GirlishPigtails: She has a lower pair of these when casual, though it's more pronounced in her Astral Dress, with [[FashionableAsymmetry uneven length on each side of her head]].
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: [[spoiler:Once she learns that the Spirits Mio was having her kill were all Once human like herself, and she had even just killed her best friend Sawa, Kurumi just barely avoided Inversion by using her Fourth Bullet to rewind her emotional state. Afterwards, she went from a Samaritan to the mass-murdering WellIntentionedExtremist she is today.]]
* GunsAkimbo: Her Angel includes a flintlock pistol and a flintlock musket, representing the hour and minute hands of a clock. When using her special bullets, [[MagicalGesture she’ll point the guns to the positions on her clock designating the time for the number of the bullet.]]
* HairTriggerTemper: Only around Phantom. When it mocks her, she retaliates with a bullet.
* HeelFaceTurn: After Shido manages to reach out to her by TakingTheBullet for her, she (probably) undergoes this. It's not complete though. [[spoiler:She reveals to Shido in Volume 16 why she can't let this happen fully.]]
* ILetYouWin:
** To Mana, constantly. When she [[LetsGetDangerous gets serious]], Mana [[CurbStompBattle doesn't stand a chance]].
** [[spoiler:In the Spirit battle royale, Yoshino manages to make her expend enough Spirit power that she couldn’t use Nia’s Angel or Astral Dress anymore, and she considers this her loss despite still being conscious with her original Astral Dress and Zafkiel active. Turns out that she wanted to conserve power to reverse the modifications to Mana’s body that had shortened her lifespan.]]
* ImAHumanitarian: She repeatedly states that she will one day "eat" Shido. Since she's after Spirit energy, she (probably) doesn't mean that literally.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: In Volume 17, [[spoiler:Mio kills her in this fashion to prevent Shido from sealing all of her bullets........not that it helped because he later uses Vav to jump back to 24 hours prior.]]
* ItIsPronouncedTroPAY: The kanji in her name is not pronounced as Kyouzou, as noted in the afterword of Volume 3. It's even lampshaded by Tohka in the spinoff manga ''Manga/DateAOrigami''.
* IndirectKiss: Kurumi and Shidou share one in the Date-A-Live Drama CD, when Shidou gives Kurumi some of the drink he's already had. Kurumi takes note of it.
-->'''Kurumi:''' Ufufu...this makes it...an indirect kiss, right?
* KickTheDog: One of her few unambiguously evil acts was attempting to destroy Raizen High School with a spacequake just to prove to Shido how irredeemable she was.
* KindHeartedCatLover: No, really. Her love and kindness for small animals is the closest thing to a humanizing emotion that she has.
* KnightOfCerebus: While Tohka only attacked others in self-defense and Yoshino wouldn’t hurt a fly, Kurumi is the first Spirit who maliciously kills people. So much that the anime stuck a BreatherEpisode before her arc; once she makes her appearance, civilians die en masse, and none of the protagonists are able to talk her out of it. [[spoiler:It takes a fully unsealed Spirit to take her down, and even then Kurumi might not have lost if said Spirit's Angel was not her TraumaButton.]]
* LargeHam: The way she talks, especially towards her opponents in battle.
* LecherousLicking: Does this to Origami while commenting on how “delicious” she looks. Later does it to Shido when he gets a small wound on his cheek and says that a little spit will fix it.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Kurumi is the first character in the whole series that had a OST for her own character. Her main soundtrack is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMZdvLaFRW0 Rhapsody Rage]].
** She also has a secondary theme song that serves as the theme song of her Angel [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnW3Ft42I8k Zafkiel]].
* LifeDrinker: In order to fuel her time-based powers, Kurumi uses "City of Devouring Time", a dark barrier that slowly consumes the lifespan/Spirit mana within its radius. The consumption rate is inversely proportional to the size of the barrier, as displayed in Volume 10 [[spoiler:when Kurumi uses a concentrated version of it on Origami and Shido to quickly drain their Spirit mana for TimeTravel]].
* LiteralSplitPersonality: In the ''Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet 2'' spin-off, she has a conversation with her own Inverted self, the White Queen.
* MagicalEye: Her left eye indicates her remaining lifespan. The hands move counter-clockwise when she is absorbing lifespan, and every time she uses her time powers it will move clockwise at high speed. Curiously, even when she is doing nothing her eye ticks, although to what direction is unknown.
* MeaningfulName: [[spoiler:The kanji used for "mi" in Kurumi means the number ''three''. Also the first kanji in her last name "toki" means ''time''.]]
* MesACrowd: Her most frequently used power, which she uses to form massive information network by spying on her targets.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Her codename is Nightmare for a good reason.
* NewTransferStudent: At the start of Volume 3, she infiltrates Shido's high school through unexplained methods in order to get closer to him.
* NumericalThemeNaming: The names of her Bullets are 1 to 12 using Hebrew numbers.[[note]]It'd have been AlphabeticalThemeNaming using the Hebrew alphabet, if her Twelfth Bullet was Lamed instead of Yod Bet.[[/note]]
* OldShame: InUniverse; Kurumi wore an eyepatch five years ago. [[spoiler:Present Kurumi refuses to elaborate, suggesting Shidou isn't the only one with an embarrassing past to forget]].
* OlderThanTheyLook: [[spoiler:Possibly. She appears to be 17 years old, but when Shido encounters the Kurumi from five years ago, she appears to be the same age. As her friend Sawa's death was over 20 years ago, this would make her actual age at least 37.]]
* {{Ojou}}: [[spoiler:As a human, she grew up in a rich family, which is reflected in her very polite speech patterns (such as the use of the pronoun “watakushi”).]]
* PayEvilUntoEvil: She brutally murders would-be rapists and animal abusers in her arc.
* PeekABangs: Doubles as an EyepatchOfPower. Covers her [[MagicalEye left eye]] when she's not wearing her Astral Dress, making her one of the few Spirits whose Astral Dress changes her hairstyle.
* PetTheDog: Quite considerate for a mass murdering Spirit who claims she is "beyond redemption".
** She has a soft spot for animals, particularly [[KindHeartedCatLover cats]]. The only time we see her killing because she wants to (and not to restore her powers) is when she kills a bunch of kids abusing a kitten.
** In volume 10, when [[spoiler:Origami]] requests to [[spoiler:time travel back five years]], Kurumi first jokes about the reasons, but ultimately acquiesces with the condition that [[spoiler:Origami use her own Spirit energy to power the time travel, reasoning it will be a good test for the time travel]].
* ThePlan: She wants to gather enough power to travel back 30 years into the past and kill the First Spirit, and she needs the power sealed within Shido to accomplish this. [[spoiler:After meeting Nia in Volume 13, she changes the plan after learning she won't be able to kill the First Spirit to simply preventing it's summon into the world. Her fight with Kotori and Shido's act of trying to protect her also makes her decide to simply steal his spirit power in Volume 16 and keep him alive, rather than actually eat him like she originally intended.]]
%%* PoliteVillainsRudeHeroes: Had this dynamic with Bete in the crossover campaign, ''Ais Catastrophe'' in ''[[LightNovel/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon Memoria Freese]]''. With her being the polite villainess to his rude hero.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: In her school uniform.
* RedBaron: Her Angel Zafkiel has "Emperor of Time" as its title. She herself has gained the title “Worst Spirit” for her body count.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: If you discount that yellow Magical Eye of hers, she fills all the criteria for the trope, with [[AxCrazy added craziness]].
* {{Sexophone}}: Of the trumpet variety; her {{leitmotif}}, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDXTHZameXo "Portrait"]], plays whenever she enters a room or starts acting seductive.
* ShadowWalker: She can hop in and out of her shadow, which serves as both a storage space and a LifeDrinker "stomach".
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Enjoys teasing Shido, like when she cheerfully flashes her panties at his request (Kotori accidentally fed him the wrong line).
* [[HesBack She's Back]]: [[spoiler:She returns to Raizen High one month after Mukuro is finally sealed, and it seems she intends to continue what she started in Volume 16 where she's the main focus.]]
* SlasherSmile: Comes with being AxCrazy. She sports this most of the time she is wearing her Astral Dress. And a few times without it.
* SquishyWizard: She has very high reiryoku, but she's not that strong, durable or fast (without the assistance of her First Bullet). [[spoiler:As broken as a TimeMaster is on paper, she simply couldn't match up to Kotori's regeneration and ([[PlayingWithFire literal]]) firepower, and only survived because of Shido.]]
* StartOfDarkness: [[spoiler:When Mio's actions cause her to murder her best friend Sawa Yamauchi against her will, Kurumi decides that she needs to change the past so she can kill her, later make sure she's never able to be summoned into the world.]]
* StoryBreakerPower: Considering that Kurumi is a TimeMaster on top of SuperpowerLottery, its no guess as to why she still hasn't been sealed by Shido. He would be unstoppable if he has her powers. [[spoiler:When it looks like Shido is about to seal the deal for good at the end of Volume 17, Mio interferes with the process and kills Kurumi to prevent Shido from gaining all of her powers. This move turns out to be ineffective in the end with Shido using Vav to mentally time travel back in time with the plan of stopping Mio before she started her KillThemAll plan.]]
** Later in the story she [[spoiler:obtains [[GreatBigBookOfEverything Rasiel, making her borderline omniscient on top of her time powers.]]]]
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler:Realizing she killed her best friend causes her to inverse, but she manages to prevent it using her Fourth Bullet.]]
* SuperpowerLottery: She is the first Spirit shown to have two unrelated domains of powers ([[CastingAShadow Shadow]] and [[TimeMaster Time]]). And even though her time powers [[CastFromLifespan consume enough lifespan for it to threaten her life]], she can mitigate that by [[LifeDrinker draining others of theirs]]. As Kurumi herself puts it, when she gets serious, "any power is meaningless." [[spoiler:Only Kotori at her unsealed state manages to [[CurbStompBattle send Kurumi to the curb]], and even this was likely caused by Kurumi's [[TraumaButton personal weakness]] against Kotori's Angel.]]
** [[spoiler:Justified since she used to act as the clean up spirit for corrupted spirits.]]
* TemporalDuplication: Using Zafkiel's TimeMaster powers, she can make temporal clones of herself.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: After Shido saved her from [[spoiler:Kotori]], she ends up protecting him several times, though she insists that her goal of eating him hasn’t changed and she simply doesn’t want him to die before then. By Volume 16, when she [[spoiler:runs herself ragged in a MentalTimeTravel GroundhogDayLoop to save Shido’s life from DEM, even her own clones are starting to question if that’s truly all he means to her.]]
* TheTease : She ''really'' likes teasing Shido. Seems to be part of the reason she hasn't eaten him yet. She kicks this up a notch in the Miku arc, even going so far as to lick his cheeks and playfully nibble on his ear.
* TimeMaster: Although used more often, this ability is actually stated by the novels to be her secondary ability, where she shoots bullets of varying effects. To activate these, she has to summon Zafkiel, and then position her guns in front of the number she wants to use. The magnitude and/or the duration of each bullet's effects are determined by the amount of lifespan she spends on each shot.
** FlashStep[=/=]SuperSpeed: First Bullet: Aleph. It accelerates the time of anything it hits, including herself for that matter. Her Second Bullet: Bet [[InvertedTrope does the opposite]], slowing things down instead.
** RapidAging: Third Bullet: Gimmel. It causes an object or person she shoots to age.
** HealingFactor: Fourth Bullet: Dalet. It allows to physically rewind time of objects she hits, allowing her to undo any damage provided she can still shoot the gun. [[spoiler:However, while it can reverse any physical ailment (even her own Inversion), she can't use it to bring back someone who's died.]]
** {{Seers}}: Fifth Bullet: Hei. It lets Kurumi see a glimpse of the future.
** MentalTimeTravel: Sixth Bullet: Vav. It allows Kurumi to send someone's consciousness into the past. How far can the subject go is determined by the lifespan she spends, but the subject will stay in the past indefinitely, and both her mana and her clones would reset in number, effectively functioning as a ResetButton for the target. This does put a strain on the target's mind, however. [[spoiler:This bullet was accidentally sealed in volume 4 and initially unable to be used, but it recovers after Kurumi kisses Shido's corpse and finally realizes he made her fall in love with him.]]
** TimeStandsStill: Seventh Bullet: Zayin. Objects it hits will freeze in time.
** DoppelgangerAttack[=/=]SelfDuplication: Eighth Bullet: Het. It allows her to use her past memories as clones, allowing her to spy and gather information safely, and even if they are killed, their memories return to the original. However, they lack the original's 12 Bullet powers, and is noted to be far less powerful than Kurumi herself, although they do retain the ability to use guns, manipulate shadows, as well as summoning City of Devouring Time and spacequakes.
** {{Telepathy}}: Ninth Bullet: Tet. Targets shot will share their senses with Kurumi when sent to other timelines. Used in conjunction with Yod Bet.
** PensieveFlashback: Tenth Bullet: Yud. It allows her to see the past of objects she has hit, restore her own memory, or pass memory onto others. This might be the reason she's avoided gaining EasyAmnesia like the other spirits.
** TimeTravel: The Eleventh Bullet: Yud Aleph sends someone to the future, while the Twelfth Bullet: Yud Bet, sends someone to the past. The amount of lifespan Kurumi spends will determine how far can the target go throughout the timeline as well as how long can they remain there, targets will be forcibly moved back after a certain amount of time has passed. Any changes made upon the world will not be remembered except by the [[RippleEffectProofMemory ones who are shot by the bullet, as well as Kurumi herself.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: She's not officially part of Shido's group, but on occassion she will help him if their goals align to some level. This includes the attack on DEM in Volume 7 because she's looking for a captive Spirit, [[spoiler:and Volume 11 because she wants him to prove the past can be changed and Inverse Origami's rampage causes problems for her plans.]]
* TraumaButton: [[spoiler:Kotori's Angel, or at least its berserk state, is likely this for Kurumi as her best friend (whom she killed) Sawa Yamauchi was the original wielder of Camael.]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[spoiler:Using Zafkiel to send Origami back in time to kill the murderer of her parents leads to the events of the latter inversing and destroying the world in the previous timeline. [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone She is not happy in regards to this realization.]]]]
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:Mio tricked her into killing corrupted Spirits by convincing her she was protecting the world from monsters of Mio's own creation.]]
* UsedToBeASweetKid: [[spoiler: Before becoming a spirit, she had a strong sense of justice and lamented the inequality in the world, seeking to help out those in need. Mio used this in order to recruit her in her mission to hunt down spirits.]]
* WakeUpCallBoss: She's the first Spirit that is against Shido trying to help her. On top of that, she also manages to prevent the other characters he's relied on up to that point from helping in their usual fashion.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She's killed 10,000 people [[spoiler:to acquire enough time to travel back in time and prevent the first spacequake which claimed 150 million lives]]. Although, [[spoiler:her intention is less about saving them and more about undoing the existence of Spirits]].
* WhenSheSmiles: Most of her smiles are of the murderous variety. But her infrequent happy smiles are as sweet as any of Tohka's. [[spoiler:In Volume 16, we learn why the latter kind of smiles are rare from her.]]
* WildCard: Almost on par with Phantom at this trope. Although villanous at first, Kurumi seems to have a knack in helping people when they are at their lowest (as with Shidou and [[spoiler:Origami]], later). Her motivations are unclear, and while she seems to follow Phantom's directions at first, it's eventually clear that her goal to [[spoiler:kill the First Spirit]] isn't Phantom's orders and in fact Kurumi isn't even on Phantom's side. (as she sends her clones to observe the mysterious entity).
* TheWorfEffect: Gets hit hard with this at the beginning of Volume 4 (Episode 10 of the first season) just to show that her powers aren't up to snuff in the face of [[spoiler:Efreet!Kotori's powers. Volume 16 however implies this was actually a case of WorfHadTheFlu, as her backstory reveals Kurumi has killed one of Camael's previous owners before, and [[DramaPreservingHandicap was traumatized by the encounter]]]].
* {{Yandere}}: Most of the fans consider her to be a "true" Yandere, but her murderous behavior is largely a necessity for her to continue using her [[CastFromLifespan powers]].
** WordOfGod says that Kurumi ''does'' have yandere tendencies, and sure enough in the games...
* YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle: Or rather, the Second Spirit is imprisoned elsewhere by DEM. And the Second Spirit? [[spoiler:The key to finding the actual target, the First Spirit.]]
** Averted as of [[spoiler:volume 13, where she finally meet the Second Spirit face to face and asks her about the First Spirit.]]

* CatchPhrase: "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUzxd8aof0 Ara Ara....]]''"
* CrazyPrepared:
* ILetYouWin:
-->'''Kurumi:''' Ufufu...this makes it...an indirect kiss, right?

Date A Bullet has a page now.

* BreakoutCharacter: Although she was always intended as a major character, being one of the Spirits around which the plot revolves, Kurumi is arguably the series' most popular Spirit. She even has her own spin-off novel: ''Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet''.

* CrazyPrepared: In Volume 17 [[spoiler:shortly before Shido decided to seal all of her bullets, she put into action a contingency plan just in case something were to happen to either of them during the sealing.

I think there was a discrepancy between Vol 16 and 18 on its description.

** PowerParasite: Eleventh Bullet: Yud Aleph. It allows her to to directly devour a Spirit's power and life, allowing Kurumi to take not just their mana but also their powers and abilities. However, in order for this ability to be effective, she has to spend lifespan proportional to the amount of the target's, which means Kurumi has to possess a large amount of Spirit mana to begin with.
** TimeTravel: Twelfth Bullet: Yud Bet. It sends someone into a different timeline, either to the past or the future.
