'''Copperhead''' is an internationally known assassin suspected to operate out of Guatemala whose identity is shrouded in mystery. Reports of both male and female Copperheads have surfaced, leading
to the wealthy Sionis family. His parents were extremely negligent, and after they blamed him for their businesses going authorities believing that it is either a group operating under a single name or a floating moniker. What all the reports agree on is that Copperhead is deadly and cut him off from their fortune, Roman burnt their mansion down skilled, leaving a trail of victims dead by asphyxiation, [[NeckSnap broken necks]], and killed them. The company exotic poisons. Early in Batman's career, a female Copperhead was still failing, but was bailed out by Bruce Wayne, causing Sionis to hate him out of resentment. After carving a mask out of his father's black coffin, Sionis tried to take revenge on Wayne but was stopped by Batman, with his mask being burnt into his skin. Sionis thus became '''Black Mask''' and turned into one of the most powerful mob bosses in Gotham City. He sought revenge on Batman, and [[spoiler:apparently]] sent eight assassins after him who accepted a 50 million dollar bounty offered by Black Mask to kill the vigilante on Christmas Eve during the early years of Batman's career. After being imprisoned in Arkham City, Black Mask was the only prisoner to find a way to escape, although he was quickly caught and subjected to brutal treatment at the hands of TYGER.Eve.

* AbusiveParents[=/=]ParentalNeglect: From the day he was born, Roman's parents cared nothing for him. They hadn't even left the hospital after his birth before he fell onto the ground and cracked his head open while they chatted away uncaring. After paying off the hospital to cover up the accident, they proceeded to ignore him for his entire life until they needed a scapegoat for Sionis Industries going under. He finally snapped and burned their house down with them in it.
* AdaptationalHeroism: More like Adaptational ''Softness'', as he is implied to have loved his girlfriend and didn't aim his sadism out against his mooks as much, to the point that at least a quarter of them were actually loyal. Black Mask in the comics... well, he disfigures his former fiancee's face for leaving him, and tortured Stephanie Brown brutally before fatally shooting her after she chose to not kill him. He's still a horribly sadistic monster, but appears to be not ''quite'' as bad.
* AscendedExtra: He goes from a brief cameo in ''Arkham City'' to becoming the main antagonist of ''Arkham Origins''. [[spoiler:Even though he actually isn't the BigBad after all, he still gets a lot more focus and screen time in ''Origins'' than he did in previous games.]]
* AssholeVictim: The brutal crimelord gets beaten up by a couple of TYGER mercs in ''City''.
** [[spoiler:Subverted in ''Origins'', as while he is a real jerk, the Joker is far worse, and actually killed many of his men and some cops. By contrast, it is implied that he loves his girlfriends, and that he was nowhere near as brutal as the Joker is.]]
* BadBoss: The reveal trailer for ''Arkham Origins'' shows him kneeling over one of his own men injured in the warehouse explosion and pleading for help, picking up a smouldering board (with nails in it), and smashing his head in. [[spoiler:Actually, downplayed. His men don't seem to have a problem with him - provided they stay loyal. [[IdentityImpersonator The Joker]] on the other hand... And while Sionis is stated to be a brutal and sadistic crime lord, the game heavily emphasizes that the Joker is much worse.]]
* BigBad: Of ''Arkham Origins''. [[spoiler:Subverted; it's really the Joker, who took over his operation.]]
* BonusBoss: He shows up in a challenge map pack in ''Arkham City'', and the player gets to fight him on the Freight Train map. [[spoiler:He also serves this role as a Most Wanted villain in ''Origins''.]]
* ButtMonkey: [[spoiler:Sionis ''really'' gets the short end of the stick in ''Arkham Origins''.]] His entire life has been one bad break after the next, barring his mob activities [[spoiler:for the most part]]. In ''City'' and his prequel story in ''Unhinged'', he seems to be ''really'' trying to get himself back on his feet regarding keeping up with the {{supervillain}}s around him, but spends the entire time either trying to run away from them or being beaten up by TYGER.
* TheCameo: The only time you see him in ''Arkham City'' is in the processing center at the beginning as he attacks a couple of TYGER guards with a folding chair before getting tasered and beaten down.
* CarnivalOfKillers: ''Arkham Origins'' revolves around Black Mask placing a bounty on Batman's head, which eight assassins are seeking to collect.
* [[spoiler:CastAsAMask]]: [[spoiler:Pun not intended.]]
* ChairmanOfTheBrawl: He wields a chair to try and defend himself from Tyger goons at the beginning of ''Arkham City'', but gets tazed before being able to do anything.
* ColdBloodedTorture: He is well-known for employing this for intimidation and because it entertains him.
* ContractualBossImmunity: When you fight him in the Robin DLC, he's immune to all forms of instant knock outs, much like the Joker's boss fight.
* CoolMask: His black mask was made out of his father's coffin, and gets burned into his skin at some point.
* DemotedToExtra: In-universe, as he's the BigBad of ''Arkham Origins'', which is set several years before Asylum and City. In the former, he was only alluded to and in the latter, he only shows up as part of a background event and in a DLC challenge.
* {{Determinator}}: Even after [[spoiler:having his position usurped by The Joker, and enduring intense physical and emotional torment]], the first thing he does after he's set free is attempt to re-establish himself in Gotham's underworld. Sionis himself even remarks that a nigh-insane amount of perseverance is something both he and Batman seem to have in common.
* [[spoiler:DiscOneFinalBoss]]: [[spoiler:In ''Arkham Origins''.]]
* DoomedByCanon: In ''Arkham Origins'', Black Mask is the undisputed ruler of Gotham's underworld and Roman Sionis is still a free man, his identity hidden behind his mask and with most Gotham criminals under his heel, including a corrupt police force and international assassins on the payroll. Come Arkham City, he's a lone FunnyBackgroundEvent.
* [[BadassInANiceSuit Dressed to Kill]]: Sports a ''damn'' fine suit in ''Arkham Origins''. He's not afraid of doing dirty work while wearing it, either.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: According to ''Origins'', he has several girlfriends, at least one of which he opts to MercyKill when he doesn't really have to give her the courtesy.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: By implication in ''Origins''. [[spoiler:The Joker is so brutal by comparison that almost a quarter of his men try to abandon him, and many others are too scared to do so, meaning that Sionis was nowhere near as bad.]]
* GreatEscape: He's the first and only inmate to ever escape from Arkham City [[spoiler:until Hush]]. He stole some explosives from Penguin, waited for a guard shift change, then blew a hole in the perimeter wall and ran off. He was recaptured soon after. Incidentally, his escape is what led to [[NiceJobFixingItVillain the installation of auto-turrets along the perimeter.]]
* GutturalGrowler: Courtesy of both Creator/NolanNorth and Creator/BrianBloom.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Surprisingly, ''Origins'' gives him this treatment, though he's also a crime boss. [[spoiler:Sionis is forced to MercyKill his girlfriend, kidnapped, has his identity stolen by the Joker, sees a quarter of his loyal men [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness massacred by the Joker as an example to the rest]], and loses his family's steel mill to become [[VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity "Joker's Funland"]].]] By the time the game ends, it's hard not to feel at least a little sorry for him.
* ManInWhite: In previews for ''Origins'', he appears in a white pinstripe suit.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: His reaction to the Joker. Over the course of ''Arkham Origins'', we see [[JustifiedTrope there is a very good reason for this]].
* {{Retcon}}: Kind of. We see Sionis' face in ''Origins'', meaning that Black Mask's...well, mask hasn't been burned into his face yet; a bit odd, considering it was established that this happened during his first personal encounter with Batman. And yet, when he meets Batman, no burning. A mystery.
* SelfMadeOrphan: They [[AbusiveParents kind of deserved]] [[CorruptCorporateExecutive it though]].
* SkullForAHead: His black mask.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: And insanity. He believed that Joker was "no-one that matters", underestimating his abilities. [[spoiler:This led to him being overthrown and his life ruined.]]
* UngratefulBastard: [[spoiler:In ''Arkham Origins'', after Batman rescues him from the Joker's men and asks him about the Joker's whereabouts, he still tries to get Copperhead to kill Batman. Though Batman ''did'' pull a JackBauerInterrogationTechnique on him.]]
* VillainousFriendship: With Firefly.
* TheWorfEffect: His profile tells of how he's a feared gang leader. TYGER makes swift work of him in the opening of ''Arkham City''.
* WholeCostumeReference[=/=]MythologyGag: His appearance in ''Arkham Origins'' recalls his design on ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman''.

* ArmCannon: He has a pair of silenced wrist-mounted 9mm cannons.
* BadBoss: In his battle in ''Origins'', he threatens his minions constantly by aiming his guns at them and telling them to not slack off. It serves the purpose of keeping them alert and making him somewhat unpredictable, as he can possibly spot Batman as he's doing so.
* BerserkButton: Causing him to miss his target.
** [[spoiler:He angrily destroys the spotlights during the fight against him in ''Blackgate'' as they throw off his aim. Batman needs to use this distraction to get close to him.]]
* BonusBoss: In both ''City'' and ''Origins'', Deadshot is dealt with in a sidequest storyline rather than in the main story.
* ChekhovsGunman: When playing as Bruce Wayne at the start of the game, Deadshot is seen in the line ahead of you as you enter Arkham City. He even says to Bruce "You're on my list" and mock shoots him with his finger. Unless the player is familiar with Deadshot or has already played the game, through, the player's unlikely to notice that it's Deadshot.
* CrosshairAware: Used during the first stage of the fight against him in ''Arkham Origins Blackgate''.
* DeathSeeker: His profile notes that he hates himself as much as he does his targets, with psychologists having diagnosed with "suicidal tendencies". In ''Origins'', upon his defeat and Batman's proclamation that his time of harming innocents is over, he translates that to him being about to kill him and shrugs it off, saying [[TheFatalist if that's how it's gonna be, that's how it's gonna be]].
* [[BeardOfEvil Goatee of Evil]]: He sports a classic "bad guy" beard.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: A staple for the character.
** [[spoiler:Evidenced with the third kill in the his side-quest, where he manages to kill the target by ricocheting the bullet off of a metal shutter before hitting him. This was proven physically impossible by ''Series/MythBusters'', so it's probable that he did it just to prove he's that good.]]
** And in ''Arkham Origins'', [[spoiler:he ricochets another shot to ''shoot through a SWAT sniper before taking out a helicopter's tail rotor'' and causing it to crash]]. Also in ''Origins'', not only does his [[EstablishingCharacterMoment single-shot murder of several cops at the same time]] cause even ''[[ServileSnarker Alfred]]'' to have a SarcasmFailure, but his LaserSight deflects off of corners in gameplay to hit Batman.

[[caption-width-right:350:''"Oppressed citizens of Gotham, your cries for help have been heard! I am Anarky -- voice of the people -- here to save you from the plague of corruption that now infests this once proud city!"'']]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MatthewMercer

'''ComicBook/{{Anarky}}''' is a genius criminal who attempts to subvert the government and establish anarchism, believing it will improve society.
----
!!Provides examples of:
* AdaptationalVillainy: In the comics, most of Anarky's actions were targeted at specific individuals, and although some of his actions put his targets in critical condition, he wasn't a killer and he would avoid collateral damage. In ''Origins'', Anarky plans to blow up buildings connected to what he believes are the root problems of society, and he's unconcerned with who might get hurt in the process. He's also portrayed as somewhat less rational than his comic book counterpart. You probably wouldn't hear the comic Anarky ranting against soft drinks, for example.
* AntiVillain: He [[WellIntentionedExtremist genuinely wants to help Gotham,]] but he believes that it is possible [[BombThrowingAnarchists to use any means]] to do so.
* BrokenPedestal: For Batman, during the final confrontation.
* [[BombThrowingAnarchists Bomb Throwing Anarkist]]: Has bombs set up at three key locations in Gotham, which Batman must disarm. Taken more literally when in the fight against him, since he spends most of the fight on a balcony lobbing {{Molotov Cocktail}}s at Batman before leaping down to join the fray.
* CharacterFilibuster: He just ''loves'' to give these -- especially after he's apprehended.
* DoNotAdjustYourSet: How he introduces himself to Batman. He even lampshades this at the end of his announcement, telling the populace that he'll let them get back to their regularly scheduled "propagandist garbage".
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: His design in ''Origins'' was specifically made to evoke images of the modern "street protester"; it's all topped off by an expressionless mask, much like the infamous Guy Fawkes mask popularized by ''ComicBook/VForVendetta'' and [[{{Image Boards}} Anonymous]].
* EvilCounterpart: To Barbara Gordon. Both of them are highly intelligent individuals who vocally hate the corruption in Gotham, make efforts to fix it and see Batman as a hero for doing the same. However, while Barbara just points Batman towards some illegal gun deals and eventually becomes Batgirl and later Oracle, Anarky becomes a full-blown terrorist and eventually rejects Batman.
* IJustWantToBeYou: He confesses that he became Anarky to try and be like his idol, Batman.
* InTheHood: He and his men all have hoods to help disguise themselves along with their masks.
* KingOfTheHomeless: He's known to be a protector of Gotham's homeless population, and it's mentioned that some of his men were vagrants recruited off the streets.
* {{Malevolent Masked M|en}}an: A creepy white mask to help hide his identity.
* MisaimedFandom: InUniverse. WordOfGod describes him, aside from being an anarchist, as a Batman fan.
* MoodSwinger: Especially upon his defeat, where his constant changes in opinion make him seem legitimately borderline.
* MotorMouth: He just seems naturally prone to making speeches lamenting the evils of consumerism.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Aside from his white mask and a white anarchy symbol, his entire outfit is red and black.
* [[spoiler:TeensAreMonsters: As Batman learns after apprehending him, he's just a teenager, despite all of his rhetoric involving anarchy and bombing tactics.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: After Batman rejects his [[WeCanRuleTogether proposition]], he becomes more than a little unhinged.
* WeCanRuleTogether: Offers an alliance with Batman to clean up Gotham. After Batman refuses, cue VillainousBreakdown.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He really believes tearing down the government and establishing anarchy would be a good thing. He's also gained a reputation as the protector of Gotham's homeless population.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: He and his men wear expressionless white masks.
* XtremeKoolLetterz: "Anarky", not "Anarchy". [[spoiler:Justified, as he's a teenager.]]

[[caption-width-right:268:''"Kill him and I'll pay you whatever you want. Make him suffer and I'll double it."'']]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/NolanNorth (''Arkham City''), Creator/BrianBloom (''Arkham Origins''), [[spoiler:Creator/TroyBaker (Joker as Black Mask)]]

'''Roman Sionis''' was the heir to the wealthy Sionis family. His parents were extremely negligent, and after they blamed him for their businesses going under and cut him off from their fortune, Roman burnt their mansion down and killed them. The company was still failing, but was bailed out by Bruce Wayne, causing Sionis to hate him out of resentment. After carving a mask out of his father's black coffin, Sionis tried to take revenge on Wayne but was stopped by Batman, with his mask being burnt into his skin. Sionis thus became '''Black Mask''' and turned into one of the most powerful mob bosses in Gotham City. He sought revenge on Batman, and [[spoiler:apparently]] sent eight assassins after him on Christmas Eve during the early years of Batman's career. After being imprisoned in Arkham City, Black Mask was the only prisoner to find a way to escape, although he was quickly caught and subjected to brutal treatment at the hands of TYGER.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* AbusiveParents[=/=]ParentalNeglect: From the day he was born, Roman's parents cared nothing for him. They hadn't even left the hospital after his birth before he fell onto the ground and cracked his head open while they chatted away uncaring. After paying off the hospital to cover up the accident, they proceeded to ignore him for his entire life until they needed a scapegoat for Sionis Industries going under. He finally snapped and burned their house down with them in it.
* [[spoiler:AdaptationalHeroism: More like Adaptational ''Softness'', as the ''real'' Black Mask is implied to have loved his girlfriend and didn't aim his sadism out against his mooks as much, to the point that at least a quarter of them were actually loyal.
* [[spoiler:CastAsAMask]]: [[spoiler:Pun not intended.]]
* [[spoiler:DiscOneFinalBoss]]: [[spoiler:In ''Arkham Origins''.]]
* SkullForAHead: His black mask.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: And insanity. He believed that Joker was "no-one that matters", underestimating his abilities. [[spoiler:This led to him being overthrown and his life ruined.]]

* VillainousFriendship: With Firefly.
* TheWorfEffect: His profile tells of how he's a feared gang leader. TYGER makes swift work of him in the opening of ''Arkham City''.

[[caption-width-right:343:''"I killed you. And in a few more minutes, your body will realize it."'']]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Rosa Salazar

'''Copperhead''' is an internationally known assassin suspected to operate out of Guatemala whose identity is shrouded in mystery. Reports of both male and female Copperheads have surfaced, leading to the authorities believing that it is either a group operating under a single name or a floating moniker. What all the reports agree on is that Copperhead is deadly and skilled, leaving a trail of victims dead by asphyxiation, [[NeckSnap broken necks]], and exotic poisons. Early in Batman's career, a female Copperhead was one of eight assassins who accepted a 50 million dollar bounty offered by Black Mask to kill the vigilante on Christmas Eve.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* AbsoluteCleavage: As seen in the image.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: It's unclear whether her reptilian eyes are some sort of genetic mutation, or whether they are simply colored contacts.
* AnimalMotifs: The snake, naturally.
* BareYourMidriff: As part of her look.
* BlondesAreEvil: Has short, blonde hair.
* DarkActionGirl: She's quite deadly, to say the least.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: She's never shown wearing shoes, opting to go barefoot instead.
* EvilLaugh: When Batman starts hallucinating from the poison, her apparition does this to toy with him.
* [[spoiler:FragileSpeedster: Once her toxin is overcome, Batman's quick to take her out.]]
* GenderFlip: Copperhead is traditionally male, but is seen here as a female, though Batman notes how the reports are of a male, hinting that this Copperhead is a LegacyCharacter.
* GratuitousSpanish: Not to the same extent as Bane, but she occasionally hurls insults in Spanish at Batman, calling him "Pendejo" (stupid), and "Cabron" (meaning "male goat", contextually "asshole").
** One of her Game Over quotes is almost entirely un-translated Spanish.[[note]]"''Lo siento'', Batman, ''pero mi veneno es la muerte''." In English: "Sorry, Batman, but my poison is death."[[/note]]
* HellBentForLeather: Adding to the overall snake theme.
* IWorkAlone: Like Deathstroke, she doesn't have any henchmen.
* LampshadeHanging: Batman himself notes that all the information he has is on the male Copperhead, lampshading that this Copperhead is a new villain.
* MurderousThighs: The very first thing she's shown doing in Penguin's security footage is leaping onto her would-be captor, snapping his neck and arm with a hard jerk. She can also ensnare Batman during combat, though he has the ability to break free.
* PoisonousPerson: She can secrete poison from her claws.
* PrisonEscapeArtist: According to available data, the individual known as "Copperhead" has 13 escapes on their record, though how many can be attributed to her in particular is unknown. She certainly seems to have no trouble [[SlippedTheRopes getting out of handcuffs]].
* ProfessionalKiller: She's an internationally renowned assassin.
* SheFu: A contortionist who utilizes her skills in combat.
* SmarterThanYouLook: While she's somewhat feral in her mannerisms, she naturally knows a great deal about poisons and their effect on human physiology, including the symptoms of necroptosis. [[spoiler:She's also clever enough to realize that despite Roman's offer to pay her for killing Batman, any influence he once had has been waylaid by the Joker's scheme.]]
* SmugSnake: Pun aside, she seems quite confident that Batman will succumb to her poison, and enjoys toying with him in his delirious state.
* SnakePeople: She mostly looks human, but has a forked tongue, slit pupils, and venom.
* StatuesqueStunner: She stands at 5'10", making her the tallest woman in ''Origins''.
* TattooedCrook: Copperhead sports several tattoos on her body.
* UnexpectedCharacter: Copperhead was already fairly obscure (and male, to boot), so not many people expected the inclusion of this character, much less a female version. Batman even remarks that she's one of the few faces among the assassins whom he doesn't recognize.
* WhyWontYouDie: Gets increasingly frustrated as Batman continues to resist her poison.
* WolverineClaws: Sports a pair on each of her wristguards.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Chris Cox

'''ComicBook/{{Deadshot}}''' is the most lethal marksman in the world, utilizing a wide variety of weapons to kill his targets. He was one of the eight assassins hired by Black Mask to assassinate Batman on Christmas Eve. Later on, he was also hired by Hugo Strange to infiltrate Arkham City and eliminate a group of political prisoners (and Batman) who knew too much about Strange's plans.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* MarkedBullet: He uses custom rounds with his moniker on them. It's one of several mistakes that eventually leads the Dark Knight straight to him.
* MysteriousMercenaryPursuer: After Batman starts investigating his killings, Deadshot comes after him behind schedule.
* OneHitKill: Unlike other gun-toting enemies, he can kill Batman with one attack (if you listen when he fires, it sounds like 3 or 4 shots very rapidly) in ''Arkham City''.

'''ComicBook/{{Deathstroke}}''' is one of the most lethal assassins in the world, and one of eight people hired by Black Mask to kill Batman on Christmas Eve.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He's quite confident in his abilities, with good reason. While he's generally respectful toward Batman, he makes it clear that the mooks he goes up against in challenge mode are far beneath him.
* AscendedExtra: Makes an appearance as a single short boss opponent in ''Arkham City: Lockdown''. He appears in ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOrigins'' with a more plot heavy role [[spoiler:including TheStinger, where he's seemingly given an offer by Amanda Waller to join the Suicide Squad]], as well as being a playable character in challenge maps.
* {{Badass}}: He's Batman if he were a mercenary and had no problem with guns or killing.
** BadassBeard: Sports a beard beneath his mask.
** BadassGrandpa: He's older than Batman, but he's no less effective in combat.
* BeardOfEvil: As seen when he's unmasked.
* BloodKnight: While his primary motivation is money, some of his comments imply that he enjoys combat for its own sake.
* BoomStick: He initially appears to have a SimpleStaff, but it doubles as his rifle.
* CoolMask: As is tradition.
* CoolSword: Wields two custom katanas.
* DuelBoss: He fights Batman one-on-one, with no mooks interfering at any point of the battle, nor does he use any fancy gimmicks outside of his own arsenal, which is comparable to Batman's.
* EyepatchOfPower: Downplayed, but it's evident by his mask that he's, like his comic counterpart, willing to show his status as having one eye by only making one eyehole.
* HandicappedBadass: Only having one eye doesn't make Deathstroke any less dangerous.
* IWorkAlone: Unlike most of the other major villains in ''Origins'', Deathstroke has no henchmen to back him up while he hunts Batman down.
* MasterSwordsman: He's very good with those blades of his.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: See WhileRomeBurns.
* ProfessionalKiller: Comes with being an assassin.
* PragmaticVillainy: He simply chooses to stay in his cell and tells Batman that he'll have nothing to worry about from him since no one's paying for his contract now.
* RedemptionDemotion: While he's hardly redeemed, DLC playable Deathstoke lacks much of his arsenal the boss version has, losing his lethal weapons like his sword and guns. He's still effective without it, and this was likely a balancing issue as combat maps would have been a cakewalk if he could just stab and shoot his way through everyone.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: While he's always been Nightwing's ArchEnemy, he's usually a ComicBook/TeenTitans villain, and lately a GreenArrow one. The latter is referenced in the debut trailer for ''Origins'', as the IncrediblyObviousBomb he uses is in a box labeled "Queen".
* SimpleStaff: His initial weapon used against Batman until you get him to half health and Batman breaks it, causing him to switch to the sword. Playable Deathstroke has it as his only melee weapon.
* TheUnexpected: Deathstroke as part of eight assassins hunting Batman? That's understandable. As playable DLC in a Batman title? That's a new one.
* WhileRomeBurns: At the end of ''Origins''. When [[spoiler:Joker takes over Blackgate and causes widespread rioting and destruction]], Slade just stays in his cell and quietly works out. He doesn't care about the conflict because he can't profit from it.
* WorthyOpponent: He seems to regard Batman as this.
* WouldHitAGirl: Unlike Batman and his protégés, whose takedown animations for ninjas consist only of flips or strikes, Deathstroke has no compunctions about breaking arms and legs.
* [[YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood You Could Have Used Your Powers for Evil]]: He feels this way about Batman.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: His in-game biography, during the cinematic introducing the assassins, lists him as being 45 years old. His grizzled countenance makes him look a good 10-15 years older.

->''"Just think of me as a bat zapper. Now, come to the light."''

'''Lester Buchinsky''', known also by his title of "Electrocutioner", is one of the eight assassins hired by Black Mask in ''Arkham Origins''.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* BraggartBoss: He certainly talks a big game, to say the least.
* BullyingADragon: Taunting Batman also earned him a lunge kick to the face. Also, [[spoiler:he ''really'' should have thought twice before insulting the Joker, a man who's noticeably unstable. His one question as to who he is (partly in response to [[EvilIsPetty ruining his Asteroids game]]) got him [[DestinationDefenestration kicked out of a window of a penthouse]]]].
* ButtMonkey: Things just don't go his way.
* [[spoiler:ChekhovsGun: The Shock Gloves, once Batman obtains them from his corpse. Not only do they manage to function as a defibrillator to save Alfred's life after Bane attacks the Batcave, but they're also used to stop Bane's heart temporarily to prevent Joker from killing himself and Gordon in a deathtrap. And Batman restarts Bane's heart again afterwards.]]
* [[spoiler:ChekhovsGunman]]: [[spoiler:The funniest, hammiest, and easiest assassin to beat is the sole reason Batman triumphs in the final boss fight. See ChekhovsGun above.]]
* [[spoiler:DestinationDefenestration: The Joker throws him through the window of the penthouse of The Royal Hotel.]]
* [[DoNotTauntCthulhu Do Not Taunt Batman]]: Has the balls to do this, with his consequence being a kick to the face. [[spoiler:He later does the same to the Joker and gets kicked out a window for his troubles.]]
* [[spoiler:DidntThinkThisThrough]]: Taunting Batman? Sure. [[spoiler:Only a kick induced injury for that]]. [[spoiler:Standing up to the Joker because he interrupted your ''Asteroids'' game? '''That's a horrendously stupid idea.''']]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Unlike the other assassins, he's known as a "street tough" [[SuperWeaponAverageJoe with Shock Gloves]] in his introduction, and his profile lists his job as "pit fighter". Predictably, he's not nearly on the level of the other assassins, and goes down in one hit in both of his appearances. [[spoiler:Also his comment about jump-starting your heart, since that's what you do to (a briefly dead) Bane.]]
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal: Dies when Joker pushes him out of a window at the Gotham Royal Hotel.]]
* LargeHam: Especially during his introductory cutscene, where he plays up his entrance into Penguin's arena as if he were a professional wrestler.
* MagicalDefibrillator: Claims to have one. [[spoiler:As shown in-game (see ChekhovsGun), he's right.]]
-->'''Electrocutioner:''' [[IllKillYou I'm-a kill you]], then I'm-a jump start your heart, and kill you again!
* [[spoiler:NotSoSmallRole]]: [[spoiler:Much like Bane was in the first ''Arkham Asylum'' game, he gets only a few moments to shine during the story. Play through the game twice and you realize his Shock Gloves give him a '''huge''' impact on the plot.]]
* [[spoiler:[[OneHitKill One-Hit KO]]]]: He jumps into the ring with all the other goons cheering him on, [[SuicidalOverconfidence himself cackling about how he's going to kill Batman with ease]], and bellows "ARE YOU READY?!" to the crowd as the music swells. [[spoiler:[[Funny/BatmanArkhamOrigins Take a wild guess what happens.]]]]
* PowerFist: His Shock Gloves.
* [[spoiler:PlotDeviceAllAlong]]: [[spoiler: The Shock Gloves. GameBreaker when fighting {{Mooks}}, ChekhovsGun while fighting Bane.]]
* [[spoiler:SacrificialLamb: He's killed by the Joker via pushed out of a window mid-way through the story.]]
* ShockAndAwe: His preferred way of dealing with enemies, courtesy of his Shock Gloves. They don't call him ''Electro''cutioner for nothing.
* [[spoiler:SmallRoleBigImpact]]: He's [[JustForPun pushed out]] [[spoiler:([[KilledOffForReal through a window, no less]])]] of the story pretty early. [[spoiler:His Shock Gloves are the catalyst for the finale, and reviving Bane after temporarily killing him.]]
* SmarterThanYouLook: His in-game profile notes that the fact that he could develop his gloves points to him being smart than he acts. However, it also suggests that he may have had someone else build them for him.
* StaticStunGun: His Shock Gloves. He uses them for decidedly more lethal purposes, though. [[spoiler:In Batman's hands, the electricity is cranked down enough to function as a combat power-up instead. Oh, and reviving Bane after briefly killing him.]]
* SuicidalOverconfidence: [[spoiler:[[DoNotTauntCthulhu Taunting Batman]] [[Funny/BatmanArkhamOrigins isn't the best of ideas if you're a street thug.]]]]
* SuperWeaponAverageJoe: He's characterized as little more than a thug with highly advanced technology.
* [[spoiler:SpannerInTheWorks: His bragging, see MagicalDefibrillator, came in awfully handy against Bane.]]
* TwoFaced: He's not affected quite as badly as Harvey, but he's still got a gruesome burn on his left side - a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichtenberg_figure Lichtenberg figure]], in fact, which suggests [[DumbMuscle he's accidentally zapped himself in the past]].
* TheUnfought: Well, ok, ''technically'' you could say you have a boss battle with him, but he just stands there taunting you, and the first time you land any attack, it switches to a cutscene of Batman {{One Hit KO}}-ing him with a jump-kick (which is a little jarring if you were in the middle of throwing a punch.)
* VillainsOutShopping: One scene shows him playing ''VideoGame/{{Asteroids}}'' on his phone.
* WalkingSpoiler: Talking about [[ButtMonkey Electrocutioner]] is easy. [[spoiler:Talking about his Shock Gloves without spoiling what they do and how they impact the game is not.]]
* [[YoungerThanTheyLook Younger Than He Looks]]: His file lists him as being only 24 years old. His voice, scars and attitude give him the impression of being at least a decade older.
* [[spoiler:ZeroEffortBoss]]: [[spoiler:Run up and attack. [[Funny/BatmanArkhamOrigins Cue laughter.]]]]

[[folder:Firefly (Garfield Lynns)]]
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arkh06_6089.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''"Gotham's gonna BURN!"'']]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/CrispinFreeman

'''Garfield Lynns''', known as the villain '''Firefly''', is a friend and ally of crime lord Black Mask [[spoiler:and the disguised Joker]] and one of the few super criminals to avoid being locked up in Arkham City. He makes his debut appearance in the games in ''Arkham Origins''.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* AxCrazy: Definitely the craziest of the assassins. He's not even really interested in the bounty - he just wants to blow stuff up.
* BadBoss: His men openly admit they can't trust a psychopath like him, [[spoiler:and worry that they won't be able to get clear of the bombs before he just decides to destroy the bridge for fun. As one goon mentions to Branden, the only way they know he hasn't already is because the explosive caches are large enough to be heard across town.]]
* BaldOfEvil: According to his profile in ''Origins''.
* CoolHelmet: As part of his PoweredArmor.
* DarthVaderClone: Much like the TropeNamer, he wears his intimidating suit of black armor to cover up his severely burned body.
* TheDragon: The ''Arkham Unhinged'' comic revealed that he's Black Mask's right-hand man.
* EvilIsHammy: He rivals the Joker in this regard.
%%* EvilLaugh
* {{Expy}}: Replace his fighter jet pilot-like mask with a space helmet and he's a dead ringer for The Fury from ''MetalGearSolid3''. While Firefly as a character is much older than The Fury, his modernized look in ''Origins'' is certainly inspired by him.
* FireBreathingWeapon: As always, Firefly's WeaponOfChoice is a flamethrower.
* ForTheEvulz: When he confronts Batman during ''Origins'', [[spoiler:Joker's been put in prison]], meaning it's very unlikely that Firefly could cash in the bounty if he won the fight. He doesn't care, since he just wants to cause destruction.
* GadgeteerGenius: His jetpack and flamethrower are selfmade.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: His profile says he's covered in burn scars caused by his own fires, and that he actually derives pleasure from burning himself. From what little we see of his face after Batman cracks his visor, there's at least one noticeably nasty one around his left eye.
%%* GutturalGrowler
* JetPack: Part of his arsenal.
* KillItWithFire: His modus operandi.
* LargeHam: As expected from Crispin Freeman.
-->'''Firefly:''' "How do you wanna die? The quick, incinerating flash of an ''EXPLOSION''!? Or a nice, SLOW ''BUUURN!?''"
* LaughablyEvil: He's so over-the-top it's hard not to crack a smile.
* LaughingMad: Especially when he sets something on fire.
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: "Scream for me!"
* MadBomber: [[spoiler:Rigs the Pioneer Bridge to explode along with everyone on it in order to lure Batman to him.]]
* PersonOfMassDestruction: [[spoiler:Although Batman and the GCPD defused his bombs, he on his own managed to set over half of the bridge on fire, nearly completely destroying it.]]
* PoweredArmor: Mainly to protect him from being burned by his own flamethrower.
* PsychoForHire: While $50 million is nothing to sneeze at, he's just looking for an excuse to blow things up.
* PungeonMaster: Almost every other word out of his mouth is some kind of fire pun.
* {{Pyromaniac}}: ''[[UpToEleven Big time]]''.
* TechnicolorFire: His jetpack emits purple flames.
* VillainousFriendship: With Black Mask, even before they adopted their supervillain personas.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: For ''City''. He disappears after being sent by Black Mask to torch any place associated with Hugo Strange in one issue of ''Arkham Unhinged'', and is the only one of Batman's rogues to be known to be outside of the City itself at that time.

[[caption-width-right:300:''"What do you know of justice? Behind bars or beyond them, these people never change. As long as they live, Gotham is stained."'']]
-->'''Voiced by:''' KellyHu

A deadly martial artist, '''[[ComicBook/LadyShiva Shiva]]''' is one of the assassins hired to kill Batman on Christmas Eve.
----
!!Provides examples of:

* AdaptationNameChange: Very minor, but she drops the "Lady" from her name.
* AffablyEvil: She's actually quite courteous towards Batman, all things considered.
* BonusBoss: Dealing with her is an optional sidequest, similar to Deadshot.
* DarkActionGirl: Considered ''the'' greatest martial artist in the DC universe, to the point that not even Batman can defeat her in a fair fight.
* TheDragon: She's implied to be one for [[CynicalMentor Kirigi]] in ''Initiation'' through her appearance as the FinalExamBoss and the scenes shown in inter-challenge screens. In ''Origins'', she is implied to be this to [[spoiler:Ra's al Ghul]].
* DragonLady: One of the most archetypical examples.
* FinalExamBoss: In the ''Initiation'' DLC, she fulfills this role in-story, being the final challenge of Bruce Wayne's training, and having the resilience of an armored enemy and the expertise of a martial artist.
* FlunkyBoss: She fights you with a pack of ninjas as backup in both ''Origins'' and ''Initiation''.
* HellBentForLeather: She sports a biker-esque outfit, complete with a leather jacket.
* JustTestingYou: It's referenced multiple times that she's not really trying to kill Batman in ''Origins'', but rather to test him for someone else, heavily implied to be [[spoiler:Ra's al Ghul]]. This is proven in ''Initiation'', where she ''is'' actively trying to kill him, and is much tougher to defeat.
* KnightTemplar: She repeatedly refers to Gotham as corrupt and deserving of destruction, [[spoiler:which makes sense, considering that she serves Ra's al Ghul]].
* MadeOfIron: Despite having very little combat armor, her boss battle in ''Initiation'' shows that she is as resilient as a HeavilyArmoredMook.
* ProfessionalKiller: Comes with the territory of being an assassin.
* PunchClockVillain: She doesn't hold any animosity towards Batman, choosing instead to test him and claiming that the reward money is just a consolation prize if he fails.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: She sets up tests to see if Batman is a WorthyOpponent before confronting him. [[spoiler:She also seems to be testing him on behalf of Ra's al Ghul, to prove he would be a worthy successor.]]
