* VomitIndiscretionShot: In Chapter 59, he's shown vomiting beside a tree, out of shock of having killed another human for the first time. He nearly vomits again after learning that [[spoiler:he ate Bertolt.]]

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Armin is a kind-hearted soldier who strongly values his friends but when [[spoiler:Eren says right to Mikasa's face that he always hated her from the beginning because it's her Ackerman's blood that 'programs' her to protect those if she has the strongest attachment to.]] Armin who's right in front of them when [[spoiler:Eren]] said so is immediately pissed off and hits him in retaliation but Eren manages to subdue him and takes Armin, Mikasa and Gabi who's also with them to the dungeons.

* NotSoDifferent:
** Despite her stoicism contrasting sharply with Eren's high-running passions, she falls prey to the same flaws at critical moments that he does when her buttons are pushed. She simply loses all thought and composure and focuses on killing.
** From Historia, as they are both girls whom Eren gave a reason to live after a great emotional trauma. Mikasa even realizes this, demonstrating that she's not OK with Historia and Eren getting too chummy with each other after she's crowned Queen of the Walls.

* DidNotGetTheGuy: Post-timeskip, Mikasa and Eren [[spoiler:become enemies when he instigates a military coup against Paradis' government, with Eren going out of his way to try to make Mikasa hate him. Chapter 130 shows that during the timeskip Zeke spelled out to Eren that Mikasa was in love with him, but Eren -- despite being in love with her himself -- spurned Mikasa's affections for the sake of focusing on his mission. In the final battle, Mikasa has a Paths-induced vision of what could have transpired had they eloped, in which Eren tells her to get on with her life after he's dead, and kills Eren herself before giving him a kiss goodbye]].

* RightForTheWrongReasons: Armin nailed it when he [[spoiler: denounced Eren as a slave when he accused Mikasa of being one. He just believed Eren was following Zeke's and his Titan-predecessors' memories and directives, while Eren is actually a slave to maintaining the StableTimeLoop which necessitates him invading Liberio, tearing the Trio apart, destroying most of the world and later enabling his own death by Mikasa's hands.]]

** Confirimed: [[spoiler:every Attack Titan carries the memories of his/her predecessors and successors and the ability to move and influence them freely. Eren subtly manipulated every Attack Titan before him to cement his fate, Mikasa and Armin included]]

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: When saving Armin from [[spoiler: Bertholdt]], she takes the time to try to cleave his head off. This results in him losing an ear (and her losing some dignity) and [[spoiler: giving Bertholdt an injury with which to transform, which they wanted to prevent]].

* WorfEffect: Probably the last person you thought would get hit with this, huh? But yes, when she attacks [[spoiler: Bertholdt--by surprise, no less!--it's Mikasa who gets her butt handed to her, not the other way around. This alone is enough to ensure the audience takes Bertholdt ''deadly'' seriously.]]

* BullyingADragon: In Chapter 78, he actually [[spoiler: moves ahead of the other squads, who are all rightfully terrified of Bertholdt Hoover, thinking he can manipulate him with lies about Annie again. This turns out to be a deadly mistake and Bertholdt nearly kills him.]]

** After [[spoiler:he is revived and brought back to life with the titan serum, he is incredibly shaken to learn that he had eaten Bertholdt in his mindless Titan state, and suffers from pangs of SurvivorsGuilt about whether his death should have stuck instead of Erwin's.]]
* NeverRecycleYourSchemes: A rare protagonist, if heroic is too strong a word, example. He gets Bertholdt and Reiner to break down by telling them Annie is being tortured by the military in their absence with an absolutely horrifying grin on his face, distracting them enough that Eren can be retrieved. In Chapter 78, [[spoiler: he shouts down the rest of the squads telling him to get away from Bertholdt, convinced he can do some masterful talking, and tries to pull the same lie and the same smile again. '''It doesn't work'''. Bertholdt is completely unaffected, and gets within moments of killing Armin before Mikasa intervenes.]]

* StraightForTheCommander: Armin is a target of this by the [[spoiler: enemy Titan Shifters]], and has come within literal inches of being killed by [[spoiler: all three of them]]. Despite posing almost no physical threat to the highly trained and lethal opposition, Armin's quick thinking and intelligence makes him the soldier that older veterans listen to and follow because it tends to result in success, and now that he's part of the neo-Special Operations Squad, he has the rank to back it up. Annie spares him from her rampage through the Survey Corps [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe because he was a friend of hers]], and later regrets it, as Armin pieces together her identity as the Female Titan and corners her. Later, when [[spoiler: Reiner is discovered within the Shiganshina Wall, he wonders how they figured out his location, before basically coming to the conclusion of "Armin". In the same instant, he turns a DeathGlare normally reserved for dangerous combatants on Armin, who is less than five feet away, and Armin only lives because of Levi's fast action. Later, he gets himself suicidally close to Bertholdt, who is armed and doesn't turn down the opportunity presented and Armin only gets away because of Mikasa attacking Bertholdt.]]

* WorldsStrongestWoman: By the end of the series, [[spoiler:with the Titans gone, the Titan Shifters BroughtDownToNormal, Eren dead and Levi permanently crippled by his accrued injuries, Misaka very likely takes this title by virtue of being the last combat-capable-and-experienced Ackerman alive while everyone else is at best just a BadassNormal.]]

* GoodIsNotSoft: After a length of time spending time aside from Eren and Armin with most of her comrades she made in the 107th Training Corps and Survey Corps especially Historia, Ymir, Jean, Connie, Sasha, Hange and Levi. She comes a long way from being the emotionless girl she once was to a warm caring lady who will value her friends; old or new. But she won't be merciful to any enemies who she will kill if it's necessary.

* TookALevelInKindness: Mikasa first starts out as cold and distrusting towards anyone besides Eren and Armin which is understandable considering her traumatic experience with her [[spoiler:parent's deaths]] but over the length of time, she gets to understand most of her comrades especially Historia, Ymir, Sasha, Jean, Connie, Hange and Levi who will secure their loyalty for Eren, this prompts her to open up to them and thinks of them warmly as close friends and is willing to help save them if they are in danger. That said, she won't reserve her compassion only for those who attempt to harm them.
