* TheComicallySerious: Doesn't bat an eye when Re=L tries to run off to fight Glenn, simply reexplaining their mission to her...several times.

* CelibateHero: While he started out as a ChasteHero by the time of volume 22, [[spoiler:he knows Sistine, Rumia, Re=L and Eve like him romantically, but he is unwilling to get together with any with them since the former three are his students while he feels that he is incompatible with the latter. Not to mention the fact that he still hasn't gone over the death of [[FirstLove Sara Silvers]]]].

* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He's unable to leave someone that truly needs his help and will go to ridiculous lengths to help them.

* OnlyICanKillHim: As a result of working together with Albert for years, they both know each other combat capabilities very well and as a result can counter each other's thoughts and actions. This made both of them the perfect person for one another in case one of them goes rogue which they both acknowledge. [[spoiler:This is the reason why Glenn was forced to rejoin the Mage Corps in volume 13 when Albert seemingly went rogue and it shows since not only was he able to put up a better fight than a squad of 15 elite mages, but also 3 imperial court mages with unique magic and on top of that while they were defeated by Albert in close distance combat, Glenn was able to fight against Albert when their distance against each other was ''1000'' '''''meters''''' which gave [[ColdSniper Albert]] the advantage, despite this Glenn still managed to prevail in the end.]]

* PowerOfTrust: The biggest reasons his dangerous and improbable plans usually work are that they require trust in his allies even if he doesn't know them that long or was reluctant in their decision to interfere.

* SaveOurStudents: Not to the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy, but he or rather ''[[GenderBender she]]'' did this to the Saint Lily Magic Girls' Academy despite only being sent there for an exchange program. Thanks to the transfer Renn was able to expose the psychological problems student have there, create peace between the two biggest factions and expose the headmaster [[spoiler:Marianne]] as a part of the "Southern Cross".

** He likes to do this with a lot of his enemies, such as when he used a punch for his "magical kick" attack or when he pretends to shoot [[spoiler:Rainer]], only to punch him.

* WorfHadTheFlu: The biggest reason why 'Leos' was able to defeat him was that he took him off guard since Glenn didn't expect him to have equal fighting abilities as him. [[spoiler:This was actually later on discussed by Jatice in their other fight later on the volume which he also lost since he said the fight might have gone differently if he had "Eve Kaisur Gunpowder" and considering the fact it can destroy its target's soul, it's most likely that it would have been]].

* AmbiguouslyHuman: Although the novel and many characters keep mentioning Glenn is just a normal human being, it's rather questionable if that's rather accurate or true, because of his connection to Nameless [[spoiler:who even refers to him as the person that shall become her master and she is the goddess of time, La Tilica. Even [[BigBad Ferrod Berif]] has stated that he does not know who or what Glenn is except that he's clearly not ordinary]]. It doesn't help that Glenn's origins are coated in mystery due to his amnesia, and it's vague why he was chosen to be experimented on in the first place. [[spoiler:Volume 22 even implies he was once a being that fought against the Innocent Darkness.]]

** "Extinction" Ray is a devastating spell, and is stated to belong to the highest tier of magic spells. However, it takes a while to cast, and Glenn's poor magical reserves, can also leave him almost completely drained of mana.

To keep up the charade, she even tries to find other sources of income such as temporarily taking a second job as a hostess or betting her entire savings on Glenn when he participated in a boxing tournament.]]
* MoneyDumb: [[spoiler:After being demoted, she was initially this due to needing to budget her needs for the first time in her life and getting ripped off by others taking advantage of her naivety. While she was eventually able to adapt herself to the change by learning how to budget her needs and becoming proficient at bargaining. However, the earlier damage forced her to temporarily work as a hostess.]]

* PlayingWithFire: She specializes in flame magic and her bloodline magic "The Seventh Garden" enables her to activate fire spells without incantation so long she stays inside the designated area. Glenn was even surprised when she doesn't use a flame spell.
* RichesToRags: After being disowned by her father and forced to become a lecturer. She was forced to move into a cheap dilapidated apartment and the expenses needed to prevent people from realizing she is actually poor causes her to find some other forms of income such as working part-time in a hostess club and betting her entire savings on Glenn when he participated in a boxing tournament.
* RudelyHangingUp: Does this to Glenn when he asked her if she's worried about him for deciding to battle [[spoiler:Albert]] alone.

** "Cinderella of the Secret Night" shows that if it wasn't for their past together that the two of them would get along great and even be attracted to each other. What's also noticeable is that Glenn also shows attraction to her in return.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her last name "Ignite" is spelled that way in the official English release of the manga, but for some reason, the SS, "Melancholy of Eve Ignight" spelled it as Ig''night''.

A cynical, jaded KnightInSourArmor who survived a traumatic incident that consumed their entire village when they were younger before being saved by their future mentor, and used to have idealistic dreams of being a "Hero of Justice" before having TookALevelInCynicism due to a life of killing. Despite being mages, both [[WeakButSkilled compensate for a lack of magic talent]] by utilizing BoringButPractical methods, CombatPragmatism, and specializing in MageKiller tactics, the way they dispatch their targets is [[FightsLikeANormal unusually mundane]], and their most powerful SignatureMove even involves utilizing their unique inborn magic through a flintlock pistol. They're both considered terrifyingly effective at what they do best by mage society and a JerkWithAHeartOfGold that care deeply for their loved ones by those they're personal with, but while Kiritsugu hides it behind a chilling ColdSniper persona, Glenn generally acts like a MrViceGuy until he needs to drop the act and save the day.
** He could also be compared to another character from the Fate Series, Waver Velvet a.k.a. Lord El-Melloi II of ''LightNovel/LordElMelloiIICaseFiles'', with both being second-rate mages who use their encyclopedic knowledge of magecraft to their advantage while delivering surprisingly popular lectures in their day jobs as teachers at schools of magic.

However, he never truly realized what his own goals are aside from his old broken dream of becoming a "Magician of Justice". Not to mention his own guilt over Sara's death. By the time of the final battle, [[spoiler:he is forced to part with his adoptive mother, Celica, finds out about a multiversal threat that can destroy the world he and the others live in with ease, and is the only one capable of stopping Jatice from sacrificing their world to destroy the multiversal threat. This is not helped by the fact that the multiversal threat is something he '''can't''' ignore due to how selfless and kind he is. During their battle, Jatice notes how weak Glenn's resolve is, which makes him unable to wake up from the LotusEaterMachine Jatice put him in unlike Sistine, Rumia, and Re=L who were all able to wake up quickly from their dream.]]

* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler:When he has a skirmish with "Leos" the night before their duel, Leos roundly kicks his ass by employing a non-magic technique that Glenn cannot nullify with AntiMagic. Massively outplayed, battered, bloodied and humiliated, Glenn silently walks away, does not show up for the duel and leaves the school for good. He gets out of it thanks to Rumia telling him Sistine needs his help.]]

* HiddenHeartOfGold: Despite his laziness, rudeness and supposed apathy, he's still a good guy underneath with Rumia even considering him the noblest person she's ever met and she isn't exactly wrong considering the length he goes to save people and the fact he still keeps his promise with her although it has been made 3 years ago and they never met each other in that time.

** He has some powerful spells and magical knowledge but tends to be hampered by long incantations. He also endangers himself when casting powerful spells due to his mana reserves are nothing special. Combat magic is overall not his specialty, so he tends to rely on hand to hand combat.

* PerpetualPoverty: He is usually broke, because of many reasons which include gambling, paying for damages (mostly caused by Re=L), debts and laziness.

* AllTheOtherReindeer: As a result of his young age and lack of magic ability, he was not able to make many friends at Alzano imperial Magic Academy as a student. This continued in his days as an Imperial Court Mage, because of being considered a third rate magician there, but he was accepted by the group he was a part of, the Special Missions Annex.

* DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest: It is implied that Glenn feels sympathy for Sistine because she very much resembles Sara, who he loved in the past until her death.

* MageKiller: Glenn's particular skill set and pragmatic mindset don't make him a "great" mage by the setting's standards, but they indeed make him a tricky opponent for any mage to fight. The government realized this and recruited him right after graduating as their black-ops guy to take down dangerous mages. Also a DeconstructedTrope because three years of witnessing the worst people can do with magic, including ''himself'' as someone who only excels at killing other mages, made him [[KnightInSourArmor embittered and nihilistic]]. The series' whole premise is a BatmanGambit by his mentor to get him to develop a new sense of purpose and self-worth by forcing him to work as a magic instructor.

* MagicalBoyfriend: Before Glenn Radars came into their lives, Class 2 had a normal school life albeit at a WizardingSchool, but once he came to they experienced various incidents Glenn got involved or dealt with directly which they actually lampshade in Volume 9.

* ManIFeelLikeAWoman: The first thing he does when turned into a woman is touching his breasts and crotch.

** Volume 1: He only became a teacher after Celica forced him to after the previous teacher disappeared, but ended up foiling the plans of the Researchers of Divine Wisdom [[spoiler:(whose ranks include that said teacher who turned out to be a mole)]] and managed to save every student present at the academy.

* WildCard: This is what his enemies consider him since he always goes against their expectations from what they expect from a third rate mage. Eleanor, TheDragon of Researchers of Divine Wisdom, even referred him as this.

** Volume 14 is about her participation in the Magician Selection, her desire to live up to her dead grandfather, rekindling with her childhood friend Ellen Kleitos and her relation with Glenn.
** Parts of volume 15 and 16 are about her participation in the Magic Festival as the team leader and in the latter volume [[spoiler:finally accepting her feelings towards Glenn]].

** She didn't like it when Re=L said that Glenn is her everything and to whom she decided to live her life for in front of the entire class.
** The reason why she participated in the ball with a crosdressing Re=L was so that Glenn and Rumia wouldn't win.
** When Glenn temporarily becomes a woman to teach at an all girls school and becomes very popular with his class. This causes her to fight along Rumia against their two leaders many times. This even escalated till a point they went to the bath when they heard their classmates were going there despite knowing that 'Renn' is well a man. However unlike Rumia she's unable to admit her jealousy.

* CowardlyLion: She becomes this in volume 5 when she decides to fight, despite her fears since she even more afraid of the people she cares about dying than her own death. Before this she was unable to truly fight back against the enemy as shown when [[spoiler:Re=L]] kidnapped Rumia and Sistine stood there powerless to even attack [[spoiler:Re=L]] who in turn just stood there and gave her a chance to attack.

* DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest: It is {{implied}} that Glenn feels sympathy for her because she very much resembles a deceased girl he was very close to.

* FauxActionGirl: Played for drama. In the beginning of the series, despite being the top student of her year, Sistine is unable to truly fight against the enemies threatening Rumia's life which is why she asked Glenn to teach her combat magic and despite this she lacks the will to fight back or finish off her opponent. However this is later on subverted since she is still a great support to other characters and

* ForcedTransformation: In one side story she became a cat which [[SarcasmMode surprisingly]] was her best match to transform into. She becomes stuck into that form for a day and spends a night at Glenn's house who thought she was a stray.

** She has a much bigger one during the second match of the Magic Festival due to Shigure's mantra guilt tripping her in not attacking Sakuya, because her victory will mean that Sakuya's family will stay poor.

* IdenticalStranger: Invoked. It's not yet known whether Sistine is in any way related to [[spoiler:Sara Silvers, Glenn's deceased former partner at the army and possible love interest]], but the resemblance is uncanny, and it's one of the reasons Glenn is protective to Sistine.

** Zigzagged with Glenn. Despite her frustration with his tardiness, she addresses him formally. She drops this after Glenn takes his job more seriously. Then her use of formalities while addressing Glenn vary depending on the situation afterwards.

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Drunk!Sisti gets too touchy feely with Glenn, hugging and flirting with him.

* ReplacementGoldfish: It is implied that Glenn feels for her some interest and sympathy, since she very much reminds his deceased loved one.

* SkilledButNaive: She has an insanely high Magic Capacity and Concentration, knows various types of spells and learned combat tacics form both Glenn and Eve, but her biggest weakness is her naivety which makes her unable to kill a human who's trying to kill her or made her unable to fight back against Sakuya due to Shigure's mantra guilt tripping her.

** The episode 11 endcard shows Sistine playfully groping Rumia, both of them wearing bikinis, as the latter winces.

* SupportingProtagonist: While she's the most advertised female character, she's actually the least plot important and most of her role in the story is to support the other characters and she rarely gets true focus in a novel. Look above for which novels focus on her. [[spoiler:Just like Glenn this is subverted, but in her case it is because she is important to the plan of the leader of the Researchers of Divine Wisdom.]]
* SureLetsGoWithThat: When Glenn asks Sistine why she asked him to train her despite her dislike for him. She was unable to answer, only for Glenn to surmise that it's easier to ask him due to not needing to explain her and Rumia's circumstances.

** Invoked, whenever she writes a novel, she usually makes use of this trope by basing them on herself and Glenn. Naturally none of them won any prizes due to her rather poor talent at it.
* TeenGenius: It's noted by other characters that Sistine has a considerable amount of talent and potential. She is considered the best student in the class and even impresses Albert who is an experienced Imperial magician. [[spoiler:As it turns out her total Magic Capacity is over 10,000! And to be clear the Magic Capacity a first rate magician is supposed to have is at least 3000 which means she already has three times as much capacity compared to a regular first rate magician.]]

* TookALevelInBadass: Invokes this trope by asking Glenn to train her in combat magic. [[spoiler:She shows the fruits of her training at the end of volume 5 along with becoming emotionally stronger by renewing her vow to protect those dear to her. Her training along with all the dangers she faced against also caused her Magic Capacity up to 10,000 which is 5 times the average a magician her age is supposed to have]].

* TheComicallySerious: Threatens to annihilate his students with Extinction Ray after his class blows their winnings on absurd amounts of food and drink in the post-school competition party, although they're too busy celebrating to care.

* CoveredWithScars: Under his shirt there are many scars from his time as an Imperial Mage Corps magician.

* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: By using a catalyst, he can cast Celica's Extinction Ray, but this completely drains him of his mana and leaves him exhausted afterwards.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: As a child he lost his parents and memories before getting adopted by Celica. He wished to be a mage of justice, which he then gets as an Imperial Officer. [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor Then things go downhill from there]] after realizing what he's doing. After [[spoiler:[[LivingEmotionalCrutch Sara's]] death]], this is when he basically gives up on magic and his job then becomes the {{Hikikomori}} we first saw in the series.
* DeadGuyJunior: [[spoiler:The Side Story "Heavens, the Lonesome Witch" reveals that he is named after a kid who Celica planned to adopt, but was actually a thrall that was getting close to her as part of a plan to kill her.]]

* TheDreaded: During his days in the mage corps "The Fool" is considered this, because he was able to kill many master level magicians without any problem.

* FamedInStory: Many of his achievements as a teacher are known to the public which aside from winning the Magic Festival and the duel against Maxim include saving the Queen's life, saving Fejite and preventing Snoria's destruction. This gives him the reputation as Alzano's hero and is why he was chosen as head coach of Alzano's team for the international Magic Festival.

* FriendshipFavoritism: Student favoritism in this case; he makes Rumia do less menial work as opposed to Sistine with carrying loads of textbooks from one classroom to another.

* GetRichQuickScheme: Glenn sees the school competition's prize money as an opportunity for this trope, especially when he makes a huge bet with rival teacher. Although his class wins, Sistine spends most of the winnings on expensive alcohol (having mistaken it for grape juice), rendering his scheme moot.

* GoneHorriblyRight: In an attempt to stop working, he instead send out a magic puppet programmed with his appearance and personality to do the lessons for him. In the end the puppet emulated his personality to well since it ended up rebelling against the reformation of the academy decided by the new headmaster. He actually lampshaded this himself since that's exactly how he would act. After a shutdown resulted in the destruction of the puppet, he was partly forced to fight against reformation of the academy and as a result has to do even more work.
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: His normally wide eyes noticeably narrow whenever he is in his assassin persona. [[spoiler:Sistine notices in volume 5/episode 12, and it terrifies her.]]

** Despite having some amoral characteristics, he's still a very principled guy and as a result doesn't see any of his students as women, but only as students. Much to the dismay of Sistine and Rumia who realize after seeing his interactions with Eve and Celica. Works against him, though, as he ends up alienating Re=L too much when she looks to get close to him, like they used to apparently be back in their Mage Corps days.
** "The Homeless Sorcerer" shows that Glenn is very knowledgeable in realstate business when helping Eve find a new appartment. Throughout the interview he intervenes to prevent Eve from taking a contract that would leave her in debt when broken or a house that is located in a river.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Despite his laziness, rudeness and supposed apathy, he's still a good guy underneath and Rumia even considers him the most noble person she's ever met and she isn't exactly wrong considering the length he goes to save people and the fact he still keeps his promise with her although it has been made 3 years ago and they never met each other in that time.

* IGaveMyWord: The whole reason he keeps his promise to Rumia to protect her and be her ally if even the whole world was against her.

* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: On the receiving end of this at the end of volume 3/episode 8, courtesy of [[spoiler:Re=L]]. He only survives thanks to some quick-thinking from Albert and Sistine.

* IronButtMonkey: His students (especially Sistine) would have killed a normal person multiple times with the punishments they deal to Glenn, to the point that it's a RunningGag. However, when things gets serious, it's shown that Glenn is not, by any means, invulnerable and he has come close to dying multiple times.

* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Despite how much she and Glenn bicker, they still care about the other's wellbeing. This was shown best in Volume 14 when they were both sad about the other's [[spoiler:death in one of the multiple timeloops, they even had similar reactions to it by saying that it was their fault the other died]].

* BirdsOfAFeather: This is what Sistine and Rumia fear that she may become this with Glenn once they resolve their issues against each other since they are both former co-workers, who ended up working in the same place again.

* DrunkOnMilk: While she is old enough to drink alcohol, she mostly drinks apple juice when upset and seems to get drunk of that for some reason.
* FieryRedhead: She has red hair and specializes in fire magic, but it's downplayed since she's described as a rather cold blooded person.
* GreenEyedMonster: She feels envy towards Glenn because of his ideals and noble qualities which she had abandoned

* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: She feels inferior to Glenn, because he keeps holding on to the ideals she abandoned and as a result wants to prove to him that her choice of throwing them away is correct and wants him to return working for her as an Imperial Court Mage.

* LethalChef: The food she cooks ends up disgusting since she thinks its too boring to follow the recipe properly. For example the tomato stew she made for Glenn ended up looking more like squid ink spagghetti that is also somehow squirming.
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: She shares this dynamic with Glenn since they only need a bit of provocation from another to start arguing. Sistine and Rumia note this considering her normal professional behaviour against others, which is why they see her as a potentially dangerous rival for Glenn's affection.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: It was actually lampshaded by other characters that she and Glenn aren't truly that much different from each other since they are both people who [[HiddenHeartOfGold hide their true emotions to others]], this is also the reason why Sistine and Rumia sees her as a dangerous rival since the only thing that prevents them from getting closer are past grudges.
* OnlySaneMan: She is this in the side story, "Melancholy of Eve Ignight" since she is the only one making proper judgement when choosing new members since Albert sets the bar too high, Re=L sets the bar too low, Bernard only wants to train cute girls and Christoph tries find Eve a husbnd out of worry that she won't be able to find someone to love at this rate.

* ShipTease: Gets this with Glenn, because they are actually rather similar to each other despite how much they argue. What's also worth noting is that Eve is the most realistic choice Glenn has compared to [[TeacherStudentRomance Sistine, Rumia, Re=L]] or [[ParentalIncest Celica]]. These moments in particular stand out:
** "Cinderella of the Secret Night" shows that if it wasn't for their past together that the two of them would get along greatly andeven attracted to each other. What's also noticeable is that Glenn also shows attraction to her in return.

** "The Homeless Sorcerer" has Eve show attraction to Glenn several times due to his lack of personal space and sincere help in finding a new home after her appartment burned down, which causes her to blush and heartbeat several times.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her last name "Ignite" is spelled that way in the official English release of the manga, but for some reason the SS, "Melancholy of Eve Ignight" spelled it as Ig''night''..
* SuperpowerfulGenetics: Since she has blood of the Ignite Family inside of her, she's able to use some of their bloodline magic such as the "Seventh Garden" which allows her to activate fire spells without chanting.

* MagicalBoyfriend: Before Glenn Radars came to their lifes, Class 2 had a normal schoollife albeit at a WizardingSchool, but once he came to they experienced various incidents Glenn got involved or dealt with directly which they actually lampshade in Volume 9.

* ManIFeelLikeAWoman: The first thing he does when turned into a woman is touch his breasts and crotch.

* MrViceGuy: The novel holds no punches that Glenn has many bad qualities which include laziness and greed for food and money, but he also has many good qualities till a point he can be considered the most noble person amongst the cast since he keeps his word, truly believes in being a "Magician of Justice" and believes that helping other people is just human nature although to others it's clear that he goes through lengths that normal people wouldn't. Also many people actually become better people thanks to his influence.
* MuggleWithADegreeInMagic: As a result of his magic characteristics, he's unable to use types of magics aside from basics or chant shortening, but he is still very knowledgeable over magic which makes him a good instructor.

* ObliviousToLove: Some characters not that he doesn't understand the feeligns of girls which includes love. Not helping the matter is the fact that most girl that like him are his students or has other complicated relations with.

* OnlyICanKillHim: As a result of working together with Albert for years, they both know each other combat capabilities very well and as a result can counter each others thoughts and actions. This made both of them the perfect person to one another in case one of them goes rogue which they both acknowledge. [[spoiler:This is the reason why Glenn was forced to rejoin the Mage Corps in volume 13 when Albert seemingly went rogue and it shows since not only was he able to put up a better fight than a squad of 15 elite mages, but also 3 imperial court mages with unique magic and on top of that while they were defeated by Albert in close distance combat, Glenn was able to fight against Albert when their distance against each other was ''1000'' '''''meters''''' which gave [[ColdSniper Albert]] the advantage, despite this Glenn still managed to prevail in the end.]]

* ReplacementGoldfish: A side story revealed that [[spoiler:he is this to the original 'Glenn Radars', a child who was an thrall of a Lich who in turn used him in an attempt to kill Celica. After defeating the Lich, Celica found him in her lair and decided to adopt him and rename him Glenn Radars. She considered herself pathetic for doing that, despite that she still loves him as her own child.]]
* RescueRomance: This is actually how some of the girls attractions start with him.
** Sistine fell in love with him after he prevented a AttemptedRape attempt from Jin and risked his life to safe the school.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Whenever an antagonist has a perfect plan, you can pretty much guarantee that Glenn would somehow foil it since they either don't expect to be there or underestimate him. [[spoiler:More specifically he is this towards the millennia spanning plan of [[BigBad Ferrod Berif]] due to the amount of influence he had on other pawns of his plan, which results in the death of every Demon General and Albert & Jatice refusing his invitation.]]

He appears to be a subversion at first, as he's a {{Jerkass}} ApatheticTeacher at the local WizardingSchool who openly complains about his job and students and was only forced to take it because he was threatened to do so by his foster mother and appears to have very little power to speak of. That is, until he's properly motivated to work thanks to Rumia talking about her goals and dream. In his teachings he shows them how to actually [[CombatPragmatist practically apply magic to real world situations]] like the ones he's been in. Later it's revealed he's one of the strongest {{Mage Killer}}s in existence, making it very likely he's holding back in the WizardDuel. Furthermore, he's shown to be more heroic than thought as shown through [[ChronicHeroSyndrome the lengths he's willing to go to to protect his students]] from the [[VillainOfTheWeek Villains of the Week]] that target his students (or more specifically Rumia) for one reason or another quickly earn the respect of nearly all the students he teaches and the affection [[HaremSeries of two of his students]]. However, in spite of all of this, he's still a [[GoldDigger Gold Digging]], perverted, lazy bastard.
* StoryBreakerPower: [[spoiler:Ironically despite his lack of magic talent, he has the most dangerous and devastating attack among the cast with use of Eve Kaisur Gunpowder in his gun. The only drawback being that it can only be shot at point blank range, however it's lethality surpasses even "Extinction Ray" and it's clear that if he wasn't traumatized by its usage, many opponents in the early part of the story would be much easier to deal with.]]

* SupportingProtagonist: Although he's the protagonist and main viewpoint character. Initially he seems not important plotwise since the story is about the people hunting down Rumia or Re=L for their powers and origins respectively, but it's more likely he may actually be the most important person among the cast considering his connection to Nameless who states he has a great fate awaiting him [[spoiler:and calls him the one who shall become her master]].

** The tarot card means unpredictability or great potential. The potential part is zigzagged a bit, because as a result of his magical characteristics, he has a smaller amount of spells ready than other magicians, but he's already creative with it what he has. The unpredictability part is played straight since normally a third rate magician like him shouldn't be able to win or cause much trouble, but he's still a very dangerous person to face and is considered a WildCard by his enemies.

* TeacherStudentRomance: A rather interesting case, while he does perversely ogle his female students, he actually defies to romance part, because he still is a principled guy and as a result doesn't see his students as woman to the dismay of Sistine and Rumia. In fact

** He likes to do this a lot of his enemies, such as when he used a punch for his "magical kick" attack or when he pretends to shoot [[spoiler:Rainer]], only to punch him.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: One the receiving end from this, because in terms of magician skills on paper he's a third rate magician who can't shorten spell chants, but despite his several feats his enemies believe that this came from luck and that he isn't a threat to their plan which they later regretted when Glenn proved them wrong.

* WhatYouAreInTheDark: In volume 1 he could have easily left the academy and waited for help to arrive when terrorists took it over or ran away to the dungeon to save himself, but instead he chose to go in there himself when he saw military grade magic being shot and went to rescue everyone inside. As Rumia has noted he could have easily tried to save himself with no one blaming him.

* ChickMagnet: Many female characters are attracted to him, because of his noble qualities and kindness beneath his rough exterior. In fact, when Celica organized a contest to get a bride for him, there were around 20 girls from different grades participating much to Sistine's surprise and Rumia's understanding.

* DumbButDiligent: Glenn was never a truly gifted student nor did he have talent in magic, but he was a patient student who as a result of his studies has lots of knowledge in the theories of magic.
