* After several back to back chapters of [[TheBadGuyWins Team Dominators winning]], Flash finally steps up. He confronts Heath towards the end of the second round's first day, ready to get payback for what he did to Twilight. During the duel, he discovers that the monster that has Dominated Heath is Flaming Emperor, Hellfire, and reveals he knows who he and his teammates really are during their duel. Despite Hellfire's monsters getting stronger and stronger the more traps he puts in the graveyard, Flash manages to just barely survive thanks to his own Trap Monster, [[ShutUpHannibal proudly declaring that he has no intention of dying soon]]. Flash turns it all around with his newest Fusion Monster Spectral Freeze Dragon. First, it gains 600 ATK since a Level 6 spell caster was used to summon it, then Flash banishes the top three cards from his deck, and for the rest of the turn, the effects of all his opponent's cards that are the same as the banished cards are negated. Flash draws a spell, a monster, ''and a trap'', meaning Hellfire can't use Action Spells, Afterburner loses all its ATK since its effects are negated, and Hellfire can't activate the trap he set on the field, basically meaning he couldn't do a single thing to stop Flash's attack. Flash not only completely wipes out his life points and wins the duel, he [[BrokenWinLossStreak brings an end to Team Dominator's winning streak]], which had lasted since the very beginning of the tournament.
** Also worth noting his Hellfire's [[VillainousBreakdown complete breakdown]] as it dawns on him he is about to lose, as he has a flashback to [[TraumaButton several painful memories of loss and death]] from his past. After spending so long looking down on humans and taunting his opponents by saying how he will kill them during their duels, he is finally on the receiving end of his own treatment, and lets [[DirtyCoward his true cowardliness]] show.

* Shining faces Midnight Sparkle in a duel, determined to get his little sister back. The former champion shows more skill than he ever has before in the series, pulling out several new cards, with his final turn even pulling off a Limit Over Accel Synchro Summon. If he had been facing an other opponent he would have easily won, but unfortunately Midnight's monster, Omega Deity of Destruction, Zeronull, has a special ability that as long as she has at least one Zenith Dragon removed from play, neither Zeronull or the monster he battles will be destroyed by battle and neither player takes any damage, also revealing later Zeronull is also immune to any and all effects of Traps, Spells, and Monsters as long as a Zenith Dragon is removed from play, essentially making it invincible. Then Midnight wins the duel with Zeronull's final effect, that automatically wins her the duel in her Standby Phase when all six Zenith Dragons are removed from play.
* When Zeronull begins its final attack on both Earth and the Spirit World, attempting to cause a CessationOfExistence for both of them, its forces are opposed by the duelists and spirits of both worlds, fighting off the slime balls that attempt to consume them. This even includes [[HeelFaceReturn Lightning Dust and the Flim-Flam brothers returning to aid the heroes]] and Queen Amphitrite finally wising up to Zeronull's true intentions and turning against it in the battle, being [[RedemptionEarnsLife the only Omega Zealot to survive]].
* Flash faces Midnight Sparkle in a final duel to save Twilight and stop Zeronull. In the climax of the duel, Flash Heart Dragon's new form, Flash Heart Dragon Alpha, proves to be the perfect counter against Zeronull. Right when Flash is one turn away from automatically losing due to Zeronull's ability, Flash Heart Dragon Alpha performs a Pendulum Evolution to evolve into its ultimate form, Alpha Deity Dragon Flash Heart Incarnate. It battles Zeronull and thanks to the latter's ability neither is destroyed and no damage is dealt. But Incarnate's ability activates, returning one of Midnight's banished cards back to her hand, which also lower's Zeronull's ATK by a thousand, then skips her turn and goes straight to Flash's next Battle Phase. This then repeats five more times until all the Zenith Dragons are in Midnight's hand, and without its protective ability anymore, Zeronull is destroyed by Flash Heart Incarnate.

* All of the final duels for the last three remaining Omega Zealots during the assault to get the Zenith Dragon cards back.
** Sunset duels against Rhodos while Cadance tries to get rid of the virus the Zealots uploaded to the base's system. Right after Sunset wins with her Friendship Phoenix, freeing Skystar in the process, she quickly sits next to Cadance and manages quickly save the system and eliminate the virus.
** Starlight faces Glorianna, the spirit that originally Dominated her and is responsible for all her trauma. During the duel, Glorianna attempts to MindRape Starlight into reliving the worst time of her life when she was Dominated. But Sunburst manages to get through to Starlight, allowing her to get back up and continue the duel, which Glorianna says [[ThisCannotBe should be impossible]]. Starlight goes on to [[IShallTauntYou taunt Glorianna throughout the duel]], making her mad enough to use her Zenith Dragon when it wasn't necessary, allowing Starlight to survive with some traps and go on to win and free Trixie, while stating Glorianna is HerOwnWorstEnemy.
** Applejack and Rarity face Lasy Marble in a two-on-one duel while Pinkie and Maud attempt to free their sister Marble from within her mind, viewing Lady Marble's memories in the process. Applejack manages to make her game winning attack, with Lady Marble unable to activate her Mirror Force trap to save herself because of Marble taking back control. But before she can be sent back to the Spirit World, Gaia-Maiden Lady Marble instead chooses to sacrifice her own soul to Midnight Sparkle so she can awaken Zeronull's full power. Essentially pulling a SpitefulSuicide to take away the last Hope the heroes had.

Not So Different has been renamed, and it needs to be dewicked/moved

* When Adagio duels against Glorianna, she can tell that the two of them are NotSoDifferent, since they both wanted something in the past and were willing to do anything to get what they thought they deserved. But then their decisions came back to bite them, and they ended up regretting them when they hurt not only themselves but people they cared about too. That's where the similarities end though, because as Adagio points out, unlike Glorianna, Adagio is actually doing something to better herself and fix the mistakes she made instead of just wallowing in self-pity and taking her anger out on others.

* Grand once again gets a chance to duel, after not having done so since the first story, facing Princess Rhodos, who has possessed Princess Skystar, in a duel when he, Misty, Tempest Shadow, Pinkie, and Maud infiltrate one of the Zealots bases. He gets under Rhodos' skin throughout the duel by insulting her and her mother for being mere minions of Zeronull, infuriating her in the process. Plus, he ends up ''winning'' the duel and finally putting an end to the winning-streak the Zealots had been on for several chapters. He ends up winning with his new Ritual Monster, Grand Shinobi Stealth Dragon, Afterimage. What's more awesome than [[InstantAwesomeJustAddNinjas ninjas]] and [[InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons dragons]]? [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs A ninja dragon]]!
