* WellIntentionedExtremist: in the Anime/XMen anime; because son is a mutant, kept him isolated from society all his life and is dedicated to creating a retro-virus that attacks and deletes the mutant gene, forcing all mutants to be rendered genetically human again whether they want to or not. To this end, employs the U-Men to abduct and murder innocent mutants to supply with a constant supply of mutant tissues to culture her virus in/from. Oh, and the end result of virus is that it supercharges the mutant's X-gene, resulting in grotesque mutations that ultimately kill them off in a ghastly way.

* WolverinePublicity: Guess who is the only character who makes an appearance in all four? Go on, guess.
** Though the Wolverine in the eponymous series and the Wolverine in the X-Men have very different character designs. The first is a borderline Bishonen while the X-Men Wolverine is closer to his comic-book counterpart.
