** During the opening exhibition match, Team St. Gloriana is pinned by Ōarai and Chi-Ha-Tan. After Ōarai's defense lines fall however, Pravda and a platoon of Crusader tanks swoop in and extract Gloriana from their position.
** Ōarai is forced into an ''[[TheresNoKillLikeOverkill 8 vs 30 annihilation battle]]'', against a professional team. ** PlayedForLaughs when Ooarai's main force is completely encircled and Chi-Ha-Tan Academy performs its trademark LeeroyJenkins in an attempt to drive a wedge into the enemy's formation and allow their allies to get out. Unfortunately, all that the enemy's tanks have to do is to nonchalantly move slightly to the side and let the momentum of Chi-Ha-Tan's tanks drift them into the killzone.

* CrazyEnoughToWork: Almost all of the plans the high school teams pull off are, to put mildly, very insane. Notable examples are...

* GenreShift: The [[Anime/GirlsUndPanzer original series]] was a fairly realistic [[GamingAndSportsAnimeAndManga sports anime]] about a fictional martial art played with tanks. However, the movie turned RuleOfCool UpToEleven at the expense of realism, turning it into a {{Wuxia}} movie. With tanks.

* HappyEndingOverride: The film basically makes all of the events of the series irrelevant since the MEXT decides to [[spoiler:close Ooarai anyways]]. Thankfully, the students get a second chance to [[spoiler:save the school]].

** When Company "Sunflower" gets encircled on the hill and attempts to breakout, the majority of [[spoiler:Pravda]] volunteered to stay behind to stave off the incoming enemy tanks. RuleOfDrama plays up real high in this scene to make it more intense than it should be.
** [[spoiler:Darjeeling pulls one off in order to destroy the T28 Super Heavy Tank]].
* HonorBeforeReason: Chi-Ha-Tan's reason behind their [[LeeroyJenkins attacking method]], saying it is their tradition.

* {{Hypocrite}}: The Head of of MEXT School Carriers Department (Mentioned in CorruptBureaucrat) calls the BigDamnHeroes moment where the other schools reinforce Miho "underhanded", yet he made the match an 8v30 ''annihilation'' match and [[spoiler:approved the ''Morser-Karl'' and T28]] specifically to give the University Team an upper hand. Not to mention he was also the who renegades on a verbal promise that [[spoiler:Oarai would not be closed down if they won the tournament]]. Probably why exactly none of the other officials give his concerns much thought.

** The tanks in the University Team have trouble firing at tanks that are ''right in front of them''. Justified during their LuredIntoATrap strategy in the Theme Park however.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Anzu, once she takes over the gunner seat, creates literal miracles with her Hetzer.

** In the Theme Park hedge maze, she manages to blind shot a M26 Pershing through the hedges. The hedges are tall enough that they can completely conceal the Pershings on the ground view and she still hits it! [[JustifiedTrope She probably knows the Pershing's location due to Anchovy's reconnaissance however]].

* LoopholeAbuse: Executed to the upmost degree, [[spoiler:students from Kuromorimine, Saunders, Pravda, St. Gloriana, Continuation, and Chi-Ha-Tan temporarily transfer into Oarai in order to help them with their battle against the University Team. Also, they are allowed to bring their tanks because their tanks are considered "private property".]]

** And earlier in the film, the Student Council takes advantage of of a loophole to retain ownership of their tanks by writing them all off as "lost" and handing them over to Saunders for safekeeping.

* MultiTrackDrifting: Holy crap, its almost as if this became a standard strategy for tanks after what Miho did in the tournament.
** The movie makes a token attempt at justification by having the last half of the FinalBattle happen entirely over a paved surface after a [[ContinuityNod heavy rain]], but ''still''.

* {{Ramprovisation}}: [[spoiler:How Turtle team uses Anzio's [=CV33=] to take down the Morser-Karl]].
* RefugeInAudacity: Way too many in the movie in comparison to the show, but the most notable is Operation: Kill Serve.

** The lone tanks jumping the channels pale next to the tale of the British tank column that came under surprise heavy fire in a forest road next to a 15 feet wide channel. Its lead tank, seeing no other exit, revved up the engine and jumped the channel. ''The entire column'' followed suite.

* TanksButNoTanks: Despite being nowhere classified as a tank, and its status as an AFV is debatable, [[spoiler:the Morser-Karl siege mortar in the University Team]] is still accepted in the Senshado competition. Similarly, the [[spoiler:T28 Super Heavy Tank]] fielded by the same team is more accurately described as a self-propelled gun rather than a tank, and was even reclassifed to a "Gun Motor Carriage" on that rationale before being reclassified yet again on account of it having unusually heavy armor and armaments compared to the US Doctrine of a "[[FragileSpeedster Gun Mot]][[GlassCannon or Carriage]]".

* TankGoodness: TheMovie! Of course!

* {{Tsundere}}: Katyusha, arriving later than Maho and Kay, pulls this act in an attempt to maintain her composure.

* {{Wuxia}}: Senshado is a martial art. Everybody is doing impossible, reality-defying, jumps and leaps. The action scenes are deliberately depicted in fast camera. Martial artists band together due to honor and duty. Masked fighters attack from ambush. Heirs to rival martial arts styles have an epic showdown. Yes, that's right. If the [[GirlsUndPanzer anime series]] was a sports anime with tanks, [[GirlsUndPanzerDerFilm the movie]] is [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot a Wuxia movie with tanks]].

* DiegeticSwitch: Mika plays "Säkkijärven Polkka" on her ''kantele'' along with the non-diegetic soundtrack.

* DreamTeam: [[spoiler:The match against Unversity Team has Oarai consisting with all the commanders, vice-commanders, and other important people from their rival schools to build up a team of 30 tanks.]] The University team is similarly described as being formed from the cream of the crop of different University tankery teams, but by this point in the film, the audience has only seen their Commander.
