** The Student Council takes advantage of of a loophole to retain ownership of their tanks by writing them all off as "lost" and handing them over to Saunders for safekeeping.

* {{Hypocrite}}: The Head of of MEXT School Carriers Department (Mentioned in CorruptBureaucrat) calls the TheCavalry moment where the other schools reinforce Miho "underhanded", yet he made the match an 8v30 ''annihilation'' match and [[spoiler:approved the ''Morser-Karl'' and T28]] specifically to give the University Team an upper hand. Not to mention he was also the who renegades on a verbal promise that [[spoiler:Oarai would not be closed down if they won the tournament]]. It's probably why exactly none of the other officials give his concerns much thought.

* TanksButNoTanks: Despite being nowhere classified as a tank, and its status as an AFV is debatable, [[spoiler:the Morser-Karl siege mortar in the University Team]] is still accepted in the Senshado competition. Similarly, the [[spoiler:T28 Super Heavy Tank]] fielded by the same team is more accurately described as a self-propelled gun rather than a tank, and was even reclassifed to a "Gun Motor Carriage" on that rationale before being reclassified yet again on account of it having unusually heavy armor and armaments compared to the US Doctrine of a "[[FragileSpeedster Gun Motor [[GlassCannon Carriage]]".

** GratuitousRussian: Clara, [[spoiler:despite being fluent in Japanese]], converse in Russian with Nonna, the only other one able to reply back fluently. Katyusha, not understanding Russian, is irritated by this.
