This is a big wall-of-text-y but the gist of it seems to be that Tatsumi sacrificed himself to protect innocent bystanders from the Shikoutazer only to have his sacrifice rendered meaningless by Esdeath killing everyone anyway. That seems more Senseless Sacrifice than Stupid Sacrifice.
