*** TomReugger, who developed and produced the show, says the show takes place in the early 1960's, before the 1969 original. The show mostly, but not quite totally, averts CosmeticallyAdvancedPrequel, except in cases of RuleofFunny.

The original Scooby-Doo, which debut in 1969, kept its voice actors throughout the franchise shockingly consistent for a large amount of time. With Casey Kasem voicing Shaggy until 2009, Creator/FrankWelker voicing Fred Jones presently, and Creator/DonMessick voicing Scooby-Doo (most of the time) up until the late 1990's. That being said, Don Messick's death had a strong impact on the series overall. When I say that, I don't mean that it was sad, and the series had to find someone else to voice Scooby; there's more to it than that. WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland was made in memory of Don Messick, and many fans agree that because of this movie, the series was revived in the 2000's, due to the 1990's being a pretty dormant time for Scooby-Doo. It's because of Messick's death and the film being made in memory of someone that the series was revived in the 2000's and is still going on strong to this day. Messick's death may have been the overall contributing factor that led to the creation of Zombie Island, which saved the series' life.

!! The Multiple ScoobyDoo Universes

So I am unsure exactly which universes the multiple series and movies would take place in, here’s an accurate guess.
* Universe 1: It’s safe to say that ScoobyDooWhereAreYou, The New Scooby-Doo Movies, and The Scooby-Doo Show all exist in this universe. The reasons it’s separated from Universe 2 would most likely apply to the addition of TheScrappy and the regular consistence of the ScoobyDooHoax being thrown out. This universe is the most consistent and obvious, as well as being the one that most long-term Scooby-Doo fans are familiar with.
* Universe 2: The 1979-85 era of Scooby-Doo, which takes care of all the Scrappy series, and is the one fans would like to be rid of the most. Whether or not you want to split this universe up into two different ones, between the frauds and paranormal is up to you, but there is likely more than one "sub’universe" involved here, containing episodes with the five original gang members, the episodes where they all disappeared, the episodes where Daphne returned, and the movies starring Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy.
* Universe 3: The universe that made itself known around the time of the series revival, including the three earliest DirectToVideo films, ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland, Scooby-Doo And The Witch’s Ghost, Scooby-Doo and the AlienInvaders and ScoobyDooAndTheCyberChase. Due to the similarities in animation and the older depiction of the characters, these four films stand alone over the others.
* Universe 4: The 2000’s revival of the franchise, placing the gang in the modern universe and causing them to catch on to the constant frauds much quicker. While it mainly applies to WhatsNewScoobyDoo, it’s likely that the DirectToVideo films from 2002-2009 are also included, for similarities of animation and for placing the gang in the current time period.
* Universe 5: The universe that includes the DirectToVideo films from 2010 and onward. The animation improved, and the continuity between Universe 4 is disrupted in BigTopScoobyDoo, where Shaggy states that he does not believe in Australia, despite visiting it in Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire. Although the animation is similar to that of ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated, the show’s story arc suggests otherwise.
* Universe 6: The live action universe. 'Nuff said.
* And some works stand out in their own universes:
** ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated
** APupNamedScoobyDoo: If you feel it's right, you can pretty much stick this one in any uiniverse that contains a regular ScoobyDooHoax.
** ShaggyAndScoobyDooGetAClue

!!ScoobyDoo Overview

The basic Scooby-Doo Plot consisted of the gang getting caught up in a mystery, usually on a trip or vacation , and it just ended up being a man in a mask trying to scare off people or collect something without the authorities knowing it was them. Pretty simple plot; simple enough for over 300 episodes, 24 seasons, 18 DirectToVideo movies, 2 theatrical movies and 11 incarnations.

!!Films

After the release of Zombie Island in ’98, the ScoobyDoo franchise has been throwing out movies like candy, most notably eighteen DirectToVideo Movies in fourteen years, with more to come. Fans don’t have much to say about these movies, aside from the praise of recent ones, such as Camp Scare. Most of the criticism goes to the live action movies, including the CartoonNetwork Prequel prequels. The release of the first theatrical ScoobyDoo movie was also followed by a decrease in animation quality in the DirectToVideo movies.

Focusing on the DirectToVideo movies, ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland led to the series’ overall revival. The three follow up films stayed true to the original theme and setting created by Zombie Island, which was darker than the original series (though not quite as dark as the first movie) and featured some sort of supernatural element, whereas alien invaders actually featured the true aliens as protagonists and the criminals were faulty. Fans may believe that the quality of these four films were pretty much consistent, marking the first as the best. The fifth film, Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire, contained noticeably cheaper animation and YMMV, but most believe this is the point where the DirectToVideo Films dropped in quality most drastically. The next two films remain on about the same level as Legend of the Vampire, until we see another, not as noticeable, drop in animation quality around the time of AlohaScoobyDoo. The films pretty much stay at the lowest they have been at until 2010, when ScoobyDooAbracadabraDoo is released, where the animation gets possibly to the best it can get, and the film contains quality that hasn’t been seen for a while. It gets better when the next film, ScoobyDooCampScare is released. After the release of Camp Scare, the films stay relatively on the same level of quality.

Onto the live action films, none of which have received very much positive reception, but have apparently made enough money to keep the Live Action attempts going, with another CartoonNetwork TVMovie slated for release sometime around 2013. The two Scooby Doo theatrical movies just don’t seem to care about their level of quality, just as long as they get enough money, and the third movie seems to want to ignore the explanations to what WhatsNewScoobyDoo and APupNamedScoobyDoo had already set, that being how the gang met, the history of Scooby Snacks and where the Mystery Machine came from. The Curse of the Lake Monster just shows that no matter what the fans think, the live action movies will never stop coming.

!!Characters

The characters from Scooby-Doo are poorly disguised parodies of characters from TheManyLovesOfDobieGillis. See if you can recognize who’s who.

* Fred Jones: Fred has been present in most incarnations of Scooby-Doo. Throughout the course of ScoobyDooWhereAreYou and other early shows, he didn’t portray very much personality, though none of the characters did other than Scooby and Shaggy. It was also rumored that there was something between him and Daphne. Presently, Fred is portrayed as an eager hero throughout most of the DirectToVideo movies, and a sort of DumbBlonde throughout ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated. In the Live Action movies, he seems to love himself a little too much, but it is noted that Freddie Prinze Jr. does ‘’not’’ do a good job portraying the character.
-->Daphne: (Talking about Fred) I mean, know he’s complicated-
-->Velma: No he’s not.

* Daphne Blake: Daphne has appeared in more incarnations than Fred and Velma, but not quite as much as Scooby and Shaggy. Originally, she didn’t have much to her other than getting kidnapped a lot, though it was rumored that there was something between her and Fred. This is played with too the extreme throughout the course of ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated, where she is overly excited to be Fred’s girlfriend in season one, but rejects Fred in early season two, their relationship is yet to be revealed. In the Live Action movies, she is portrayed as a prissy teenage girl, who wants to do everything herself.
-->Daphne: Velma, here's the only thing you ever need to know about boys. They are stupid. If you give a boy two choices, a smart one and a stupid one, he will always make the stupid one every time. That's why you never give them a choice.

* Velma Dinkley: Velma has appeared just about as much as Fred has. She’s the smart one of the group, and she originally expressed more personality than Fred and Velma in the earlier series. Nowadays, she’s portrayed as a sarcastic, yet just as smart teenage nerd. However, her nerdiness is taken to the extreme in the Live Action movies. While Fred and Daphne are moving into a relationship, she and Shaggy haven’t been making much progress, as seen in the first season of ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated. By the second season, any continuing of their relationship seems pretty grim.
-->Velma: There’s one very logical explanation for all this.
-->Shaggy: Quick, tell me.
-->Velma: This place is haunted.
-->Shaggy: Thanks a lot.

* Norville "Shaggy" Rogers: Shaggy has appeared in every incarnation of Scooby-Doo. He arguably displayed the most personality from the beginning, and has pretty much stayed the same to this day; a cowardly big eater, and constantly, like, using the word like. As seen in ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated, the most recent incarnation, nothing’s really changed, and he may be the most consistent character. In the Live Action movies, Matthew Lillard does a tremendous job portraying the character; just the same as he always is. The biggest difference in Shaggy’s character is probably in ScoobyDooLegendOfThePhantosaur, where he turns badass with a little bit of hypnotism.
-->Velma: That's funny. If he's a phantom shadow, how come he leaves footprints?
-->Shaggy: Dirty feet?

* Scooby-Doo: Scooby-Doo has appeared in every incarnation of the series, and pretty much stayed the same, with a little bit of minor Flanderization. He’s always, however, been a BigFriendlyDog who loves to eat and jump into Shaggy’s arms when he’s scared. In the recent incarnation that is ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated, Scooby took a bit of a level in jerkass, though he eventually redeems himself in “Howl of the Fright Hound,” and Shaggy initially chooses his friendship over Velma’s affection. Scooby also seems to have recovered most of Velma’s companionship. In the Live Action movies, Scooby’s intelligence was significantly bumped down for laughs, and the CGI wasn’t too great either.
-->Scooby: Scooby Dooby Doo!

-->Shaggy: Quick, tell me.
-->Velma: This place is haunted.
-->Shaggy: Thanks a lot.

-->Shaggy: Dirty feet?

In the Live Action movies, Scooby’s intelligence was significantly bumped down for laughs, and the CGI wasn’t too great either.

no, no, no, this is nearly everything on \"what Analysis is not\"- you\'ve got stuff that should go into other subpages like Characters, you\'ve got the list of works which belong on the main and you\'ve got an \"analysis\" that doesn\'t analyse but just dryly describes the history of the series.

Scooby Doo is possibly one of the most well-known long running animated franchises on television, so it’s only fitting that the whole thing must be analyzed. Feel free to edit.

After the gang had been split up for years, Fred and Daphne decide to regroup and head down to a mysterious island in Louisiana for Daphne’s news show. The film marked hope for the franchise, and by the start of the next decade, the series had made a revival, with a series of DirectToVideo Movies, and three more incarnations. It also introduced the two theatrical movies. This one film brought Scooby-Doo back to life.

* Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 1999. The gang is invited to a little town in NewEngland by Ben Ravencroft, a famous horror book writer. Scooby and the gang visit their friend Eric at his college, after he creates a computer game based on their various adventures. * ScoobyDooAndTheGoblinKing- A DirectToVideo Film released in 2008. Scooby and Shaggy are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they must stop the Magnificent Crudsky by venturing into the Halloween World, or else it will be Halloween every day. This is the first film since Cyber Chase to feature a real supernatural threat.

* ScoobyDooAndTheSamuraiSword- A DirectToVideo Film released in 2009. When the gang travels to Japan to support Daphne in her martial arts competition, the encounter the ghost of the Black Samurai.
After the release of Zombie Island in '98, the ScoobyDoo franchise has been throwing out movies like candy, most notably eighteen DirectToVideo Movies in fourteen years, with more to come.

Focusing on the DirectToVideo movies, ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland led to the series' overall revival.

Onto the live action films, none of which has received many positive reviews, but they have apparently made enough money to keep the Live Action attempts going, with another CartoonNetwork TVMovie slated for release sometime around 2013.

The number of Scooby-Doo movies really depends on whether or not you consider Scooby Goes Hollywood or ScoobyDooInArabianNights actual movies. They were released under the title of "one-hour specials."

Now that we’ve covered the 25 or 27 ScoobyDoo films, let’s move on to the 11 television srries.

* ScoobyDooWhereAreYou- The original ScoobyDoo series, which ran from 1969 to 1970 with two official seasons and one unofficial. Introduced all five current members of the gang.

* The New Scooby-Doo Movies- The second Scooby-Doo incarnation, which ran from 1972 to 1973 with two completed seasons. This series is the only one to feature hourlong episodes, and had a different special guest celebrity in each one.

* The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Show- the third incarnation, which ran from 1976 to 1978 with three seasons, with more episodes than any other series until ‘’WhatsNewScoobyDoo’’. This is the last series not to feature Scrappy-Doo until APupNamedScoobyDoo 10 years later.

* Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo- The fourth incarnation, which ran from 1979 to 1980 with only one season. About this time, HannahBarbera realized that the classic Scooby-Doo formula was getting old, so they decided to add on Scrappy-Doo. That being said, this is the only incarnation to feature Scrappy alongside all of the members of the gang.

* Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Shorts- The fifth incarnation; 83 of the shorts featured Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy, while the 13 others featured Scrappy and his other uncle, Yabba-Doo. It ran from 1980 to 1982 with three seasons.

* The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show- The sixth incarnation, which had a total of two seasons, and ran from 1983 to 1984. The series brought back Daphne Blake in season one, and briefly Fred Jones and Velma Dinkley in season two, though it should be noted that they were not main characters throughout the course of the series.

* TheThirteenGhostsOfScoobyDoo- The seventh incarnation, which ran for one season in 1985. It introduced Flim-Flam and Vincent van Ghoul to the main cast, as well as giving Daphne a complete makeover. The series never had a finale.

* APupNamedScoobyDoo- The eighth incarnation, which brought back the five original main characters, but instead featured them as preteens solving mysteries together. It had three seasons, and ran from 1988 to 1991.

* WhatsNewScoobyDoo- The first 21st-century version of the series, which lasted three seasons, running from 2002 to 2005. All five of the main characters returned, this time with differently designed outfits, and modernized stories.

* ShaggyAndScoobyDooGetAClue- A JohnnyTest-based series that ran from 2006 to 2008, with two seasons. Fred, Daphne, and Velma were once again not featured as main characters, though they did receive minor cameos.

* ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated- The still-running Scooby-Doo, featuring an overall plot and possibly some character development. The series is highly praised by fans, and is currently in its second season, airing on CartoonNetwork.

After the introduction of Scrappy-Doo in 1979, Scooby-Doo was believed to have jumped the shark. However, once they got rid of him, and gave him a good punch in the live-action movie, Scrappy’s infamy is well known around the Scooby-Doo fanbase, and will hopefully never make another return. Flim-Flam, as well, was also hated by many. However, there are several Scooby-Doo series and movies that didn’t need Scrappy to make themselves terrible, but all those aside, the series is currently doing well, with high quality DirectToVideo films, and ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated being named the best Scooby-Doo series yet.

The characters from Scooby-Doo are poorly disguised parodies of characters from TheManyLovesOfDobieGillis. See whether you can recognize who’s who.

* Fred Jones: Fred has been present in most incarnations of Scooby-Doo. Throughout the course of ScoobyDooWhereAreYou and other early shows, he didn’t portray very much personality, though none of the characters did, other than Scooby and Shaggy. It was also rumored that there was something between him and Daphne. At present, Fred is portrayed as an eager hero throughout most of the DirectToVideo movies, and a sort of DumbBlonde throughout ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated. In the live-action movies, he seems to love himself a little too much, but it is noted that Freddie Prinze Jr. does not do a good job portraying the character.
-->Daphne: (Talking about Fred) I mean, I know he’s complicated--
-->Velma: No, he’s not.

* Daphne Blake: Daphne has appeared in more incarnations than Fred and Velma, but not quite as much as Scooby and Shaggy. This is played with too the extreme throughout the course of ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated, where she is overly excited to be Fred’s girlfriend in season one, but rejects Fred in early season two, their relationship is yet to be revealed. She’s the smart one of the group, and she originally expressed more personality than Fred and Velma in the earlier series. Nowadays, she’s portrayed as a sarcastic, yet just as smart teenage nerd. However, her nerdiness is taken to the extreme in the live-action movies. While Fred and Daphne are moving into a relationship, she and Shaggy haven’t been making much progress, as seen in the first season of ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated. By the second season, any continuing of their relationship seems pretty grim.

Onto the live action films, none of which have has received very much many positive reception, reviews, but they have apparently made enough money to keep the Live Action attempts going, with another CartoonNetwork TVMovie slated for release sometime around 2013.

Now that we’ve covered the 25/27 ScoobyDoo films, let’s move on to the 11 incarnations.

* ScoobyDooWhereAreYou- The original ScoobyDoo series, which ran from 1969-1970 with two official seasons and one unofficial. Introduced all five current members of the gang.

* The New Scooby-Doo Movies- The second ScoobyDoo incarnation, which ran from 1972-73 with two completed seasons. This series is the only one to feature hour long episodes, and had a different special guest celebrity in each one.

* The Scooby-Doo Show- the third incarnation, which ran 1976-78 with three seasons, with more episodes than any other series until ‘’WhatsNewScoobyDoo’’. This is the last series not to feature Scrappy-Doo until APupNamedScoobyDoo ten years later.

* Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo- The fourth incarnation, which ran from 1979-1980 with only one season. About this time, HannahBarbera realized that the classic Scooby-Doo formula was getting old, so they decided to add on Scrappy-Doo. That being said, this is the only incarnation to feature Scrappy alongside all of the members of the gang.

* Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Shorts- The fifth incarnation, 83 of the shorts featured Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy, while the other thirteen featured Scrappy an Yabba-Doo. It ran from 1980-82 with three seasons.

* The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show- The sixth incarnation, which had a total of 2 seasons, and ran from 1983-84. The series brought back Daphne Blake in season one, and briefly Fred Jones and Velma Dinkley in season two, though it should be noted that they were not main characters throughout the course of the series.

After the introduction of Scrappy-Doo in 1979, Scooby-Doo was believed to have jumped the shark. However, once they got rid of him, and gave him a good punch in the Live Action movie, Scrappy’s infamy is well known around the Scooby-Doo fanbase, and will hopefully never make another return.

In the Live Action movies, he seems to love himself a little too much, but it is noted that Freddie Prinze Jr. does not do a good job portraying the character.
-->Daphne: (Talking about Fred) I mean, know he’s complicated-
-->Velma: No he’s not.

-->Shaggy: Quick, tell me.
-->Velma: This place is haunted.
-->Shaggy: Thanks a lot.

* Norville Shaggy Rogers: Shaggy has appeared in every incarnation of Scooby-Doo.
-->Shaggy: Dirty feet?

Onto the live action films, none of which have received very much positive reception, but have apparently made enough money to keep the LiveAction attempts going, with another CartoonNetwork TVMovie slated for release sometime around 2013. The Curse of the Lake Monster just shows that no matter what the fans think, the live action movies will never stop coming.

Scooby Doo is possibly one of the most well-known long running animated franchises on television, so it’s only fitting that the whole thing must be analyzed. Feel free to edit.
!!Films
The ScoobyDoo series, overall, has had a total of 25 films, 27 if you include Scooby Goes Hollywood and Scooby-Doo! in Arabian Nights. Here’s every one of them.

* Scooby Goes Hollywood- released in 1979 as an hour long TV special. Shaggy convinces Scooby that they deserve more than simply starring in a SaturdayMorningCartoon, and plans on pitching a number of pilots to the network executive.

* ScoobyDooMeetsTheBooBrothers- released in 1987 as a TVMovie. Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy go to a haunted house previously owned by Shaggy’s uncle so that they can claim Shaggy’s inheritance.

* ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool- released in 1988 as a TVMovie. Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy are hired as gym teachers for a school for girls, believing it is a school for girls.

* ScoobyDooAndTheReluctantWerewolf- released in 1988 as a TVMovie. Shaggy is transformed into a werewolf so that Dracula can feature a new one in a monstrous race (similar to the WackyRaces) after the old werewolf retires. Fans look back and praise this movie for being the last one to feature Scrappy-Doo.

* ScoobyDooInArabianNights- released in 1994 as an hour long TV special. Scooby and Shaggy are hired as royal taste testers by a Caliph, who gets mad at them for eating all the food, causing them to have to run and hide, disguising as Harem Girls. The special hardly features Scooby and Shaggy.

* ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland- The first Scooby-Doo DirectToVideo film, released in 1998. After the gang had been split up for years, Fred and Daphne decide to regroup and head down to a mysterious island in Louisiana for Daphne’s news show. The film marked hope for the franchise, and by the early 2000’s, the series had made a revival, with a series of DirectToVideo Movies, and three more incarnations. It also introduced the two theatrical movies. This one film brought ScoobyDoo back to life.

* Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 1999. The gang is invited to a little town in NewEngland by Ben Ravencroft, a famous horror book writer. This was the first film to introduce the Hex Girls, who have been featured in several other ScoobyDoo movies and TV shows.

* Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 2000. Shaggy accidentally drives the Mystery Machine into government property during a fierce sandstorm, and claims to have seen a UFO. The film is lighter than the first two, and is the first one to feature people in costumes as the antagonists.

* ScoobyDooAndTheCyberChase- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 2001. Scooby and the gang visit their friend Eric at his college, after he creates a computer game based on their various adventures. However, there’s also a computer generated phantom running around the campus. The film was the final one to be animated overseas by Mook Animation, and the films that follow have noticeably cheaper animation.

* Film/ScoobyDoo- The first theatrical/live action ScoobyDoo adaptation, released in 2002.Two years after Mystery Incorporated breaks up, they are all called together (unknowingly) to Spooky Island to solve the case of demons attacking teenagers and taking over their bodies. The film was critically panned, but grossed over $200 million.

* Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 2003. The ScoobyDoo gang vacations to Australia, where they encounter the mysterious Yowie Yahoo Vampire, who is terrorizing the “Vampire Rock Music Festival”. The film consists of cheaper animation, and is noticeably lighter than the previous films, returning to the original ScoobyDoo plot.

* Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexio- A DirectToVideo Movie released in 2003. Fred’s pen pal invites him and the rest of the gang to Mexico, after the attack of a hairy purple monster.

This is the last film done in its specific style of animation, and is also notable for being the last film where CaseyKasem voices Shaggy.

* Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins- A TVMovie and third Live Action adaptation of ScoobyDoo released in 2009. The Scooby-Doo gang meet each other while spending detention together after an accident on the school bus, and they must team up to solve the mystery of three ghosts invading their school. * ScoobyDooLegendOfThePhantosaur- A 2011 DirectToVideo Movie. The gang visits the La Serena Spa so that Shaggy can relax after he is discovered to have a rare condition that requires no scares, and so that Fred can work on the local Archeological Dig, but the gang encounters a ghost dinosaur running amuck in town.

* Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire- A 2012 DirectToVideo Film. The Scooby-Doo gang tries yet again to take a very much needed vacation, but they end up encountering vampires at the town they try to relax at. This is the first film to be a musical.

* BigTopScoobyDoo- A 2012 DirectToVideo Film. When the gang encounters a circus at Atlanta City, they decide to check it out, and end up getting their own acts due to other circus performers quitting out of fear from recent werewolf attacks.

After the release of Zombie Island in '98, the ScoobyDoo franchise has been throwing out movies like candy, most notably eighteen DirectToVideo Movies in fourteen years, with more to come.

Focusing on the DirectToVideo movies, ScoobyDooOnZombieIsland led to the series' overall revival.

Onto the live action films, none of which have received very much positive reception, but have apparently made enough money to keep the LiveAction attempts going, with another CartoonNetwork TVMovie slated for release sometime around 2013.

The number of Scooby-Doo movies really depends on whether or not you consider Scooby Goes Hollywood or ScoobyDooInArabianNights actual movies. They were released under the title of "one hour specials."

!!TV Series

It had three seasons, and ran from 1988-1991.

* WhatsNewScoobyDoo- The revived 2000’s version of the series, which lasted three seasons, running from 2002-2005. All five of the main characters returned, this time with differently designed outfits, and modernized the series.

* ShaggyAndScoobyDooGetAClue- A JohnnyTest based series that ran from 2006-2008, with two seasons. Fred, Daphne, and Velma were once again not featured as main characters, though they did receive minor cameos.

* ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated- The still running Scooby-Doo, featuring an overall plot and possibly some character development. The series is highly praised by fans, and is currently in its second season, airing on CartoonNetwork.

After the introduction of Scrappy-Doo in 1979, Scooby-Doo was believed to have jumped the shark. However, once they got rid of him, and gave him a good punch in the LiveAction movie, Scrappy’s infamy is well known around the Scooby-Doo fanbase, and will hopefully never make another return.

In the Live Action movies, he seems to love himself a little too much, but it is noted that Freddie Prinze Jr. does not do a good job portraying the character.
-->Daphne: (Talking about Fred) I mean, know he’s complicated-
-->Velma: No he’s not.

-->Shaggy: Quick, tell me.
-->Velma: This place is haunted.
-->Shaggy: Thanks a lot.

* Norville Shaggy Rogers: Shaggy has appeared in every incarnation of Scooby-Doo.
-->Shaggy: Dirty feet?
