Is Gravity Falls really an affectionate parody? It's a comedy/drama (at least that's what I'd call it) with a similar setting and many shout-outs to Twin Peaks, but it doesn't really do anything to mock the genre. It doesn't point out flaws in the genre, it doesn't make fun of stock character types (as far as I know—I'll admit I haven't seen Twin Peaks), it doesn't break the fourth wall to make fun of tropes.
Ducktective is an affectionate parody of detective shows, for example. That could go under this trope, maybe? I don't think Gravity Falls is an affectionate parody at all, despite being partially a comedy.
Any ideas about what 'Stan is not what he seems' means ? I'm pretty sure he's some sort of creature in human form, maybe not even actually related to the twins.

So am I the only one who thinks that funny gag bit in the Theme tune where everything gets floaty in the Twins room now reeks of Foreshadowing?
Would it make sense to make a Page committed to the hidden easter eggs, cyphers and such, because trying to find all of them can get rather confusing. Or should any such thing be considered WMG since a good majority of this stuff is theorizing.

We can have a page divided into folders such as one for cyphers, another for visual hints and clues( such as bill's chart and symbols), another for specific characters(Like characters that have been confirmed to be connected to bill's symbol) and so forth.

Sure,but the idea as a whole is in the air.What I'm talking about is a more detailed page that can help understand everything in a whole, which I can understand if such a thing is not necessary at the time. Additionally what is under Easter Eggs is only a few examples of the many, I've noticed.

Why does everyone keep calling Dipper and Mabel Half-Identical Twins? Yes, they're twins and they are of the opposite gender, but what makes them "identical". I don't think they look that much like each other, do they? No more so than any other brother-sister pair would in real life. Plus, if what people are saying about Word of God saying Dipper has brown eyes yet Mabel has green, they aren't half-identical by that trait alone. Please, someone explain this to me.

They actually have very similar body and head shapes. The only real physical differences between the two is that, obviously, one's a boy and one's a girl, Dipper's nose is pink, Mabel is always blushing, and their hair styles are different. Take away that and they would look very identical.
Other thing, Mabel's gree eyes were retconned by Word of God himself in a twitter. The twins's eyes are officially brown.

Well, character tropes are still present throughout the series, so we don't really have to.
