• Chekhov's Gun: Barely pulled off (and even that is debatable) with the F-Zero GP championship belt in GX. In the beginning of the very next chapter, Falcon discovers that his belt and its Evil Counterpart held by Deathborn contains the universal forces of Light and Darkness, justifying the Serious Business nature of the GP. Deathborn then reveals that the resulting fusion of the two belts will give its wielder dominion over said powers; Deathborn plans to use it to destroy the universe. This leads to a subversion of sorts when the next chapter has The Creators tell Falcon that there are no universal forces.
• Decoy Protagonist/Supporting Protagonist: Ryu Suzaku/Rick Wheeler, argubably. While a member of the Mobile Task Force and in a feud with Zoda, The Dragon to Black Shadow, Ryu/Rick is constantly upstaged by Captain Falcon because he's CAPTAIN FALCON. Falcon seems to take a more direct approach to combating Dark Million, and several episodes are devoted to the man himself. The focus doesn't fall back onto Ryu/Rick until the very end of the series where he finds out that he's The Savior, the one person who can tip the scale of the perpetually deadlocked battle between Good (Captain Falcon) and Evil (Black Shadow) in the favor of Falcon. And even then, Falcon still steals the spotlight. Need we remind you of which character got the insanely epic CMOA?
• Shout-Out:
  • The design of the series is arguably heavily inspired by Western superhero designs: just look at all the spandex. Beastman in particular appears to be mainly based on the western superhero mold; his bonus clip in GX heavily recalls Batman comics in style.
  • Alternately, it could be a reference to professional wrestling, especially the over-the-top luchadores and Japanese wrestlers. Many a pilot wears a distinctive mask and when Captain Falcon wins the Grand Prix in F-Zero GX's Story Mode, he is given a Championship Belt in lieu of a trophy.
• Team Mom: Mrs. Arrow is arguably this to her husband and Leon. According to X's backstory, she adopted Leon and is overly protective of him. Additionally, she enters the races solely to support Super Arrow despite the fact the fact that she is a much more talented racer than he is.

Professor Raine: Should a character sheet be made? The main trope page is starting to get lenghty and since most of the tropes are for the characters, I think it would help this article a lot.
