Should NES Godzilla Creepypasta be considered part of the franchise?
05:24:00 PM Mar 22nd 2018
No, because it's a fan work. It's not officially licensed by Toho and would fall under the same category as fan fiction.

Almost every mention of Godzilla's fight with Mecha King Ghidorah mentions the fight ending in a Mutual Kill but Godzilla is still very much alive. The Mutual Kill Trope requires both to be dead and honestly I'm not even sure if the movie is clear that MKG is dead or just abandoned.

Should we add Ike! Godman and Ike! Greenman? Since both of them are created by Toho and they have fought several monsters from the Godzilla franchise.

Shouldn't Bambi Meets Godzilla count as a movie?
11:29:18 AM Jan 11th 2015
Since no one replied, I will just put it on the movies' list

Is it alright if I change this section...

American remakes (not technically part of any series)

... into this (notes spaced out so they can be read)?

American movies (not technically part of any series)

  • The unmade Godzilla (1994) movie by Jan De Bont [[ note ]]Was scrapped by TriStar when they freaked out at the movie's budget.[[ / note ]]

I can't figure out indexing. I started a bit for IDW's Gangsters and Goliaths. Not linked on the main Godzilla page but IDW seems to have it.

These pages are in the index on Franchise.Godzilla, but the entries aren't linking back. I fixed that for one entry.

Maybe index was the wrong word...well you figured out what I meant so thanks!.

On second thoughts, NOT moved to the YMMV tag. None of these movies are actually called "Keizer" or "Baragon".

  • I Am Not Shazam: For the record, the final monster Godzilla fights in Final Wars is named Keizer Ghidorah. It's a moderately upgraded version of the "classic" King Ghidorah's design, along with some elements borrowed from Desghidorah (IE: being a quadruped).
    • An old TNT commercial once mis-labeled the monster Gabara with the name "Baragon."
    • An in-movie example, Gorosaurus was accidentally called "Baragon" in the film Destroy All Monsters. Justified in that Baragon WAS originally going to be used in the film, but the suit was so badly damaged that it only ended up being used for two very brief shots.

  • Violation of the Square/Cube Law: Averted. Toho monsters are given fairly realistic official weight statistics. There's a mile-long list of problems that come from this, of course, but the Square Cube Law itself is followed quite faithfully.

  • Artistic License - Physics: Just to start, the violation of the Square-Cube Law.

I've given Mothra her own article. Needs summaries of her solo films and could probably move the Rebirth monsters to a character page there.

  • And I Must Scream: Happens to Spacegodzilla. Being immortal, he ends up being trapped in particle form for all of eternity after Godzilla defeats him.

Does someone care to provide some sort of reference for this? Because there is no mention of this in the film Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla itself.

I've made separate sections for the MST3K versions of Megalon and Sea Monster, with one trope each to get things started. All help adding the rest of the necessary tropes will be appreciated.

Suppose we can split the article into covering the three series/eras of the franchise?
03:51:09 PM Mar 7th 2011
I say we add subsections for the Alien Races and Counter-Godzilla Organizations on the characters page.

So am I the only one here who remembers the Godzilla books Random House had published? There were, like, 3 series: a series of Children's picture books (such as the narmtastically-titled "Godzilla likes to Roar!"), the young adult series by Scott Cencien (or however his last name is spelled), and the adult series by Marc Cerasini (arguably the best of the three series'). Hell, even The Other Wiki has (a tiny) page on Cerasini's series ( ).

I'm honestly surprised there weren't any references to any of these books in the main Trope page. Especially since the Cerasini Series was probably the first out of anything Godzilla to realistically portray the Global impact caused by Godzilla and Co. And yes, Godzilla's friends and enemies from the movies all played major roles. in the books.

But the shame of it is, Cerasini's series didn't get the chance to finish before Random House's license expired (I think Cencien's series managed to reach a finale, though). So let's honor it (as well as the other Random House Godzilla books) by adding tropes that apply to those books in the main page. Who's with me?

I concur. I don't have any of the books, so I don't know what tropes they contain, but I agree that they are as much a part of the Godzilla universe as, say, the videogames, so they certainly deserve a place on the main Godzilla page.

I know this is an older post, but I actually have some of the Scott Ciencein books. The one that deals with King Ghidorah's actually pretty good, and if you accept it as canon, confirms the latter's status as an Axe-Crazy Complete Monster who gets a real kick out of his work.

I got Godzilla 2000, not the movie but the book he wrote, so I could do a page, maybe? With some help?

Just want to thank whoever organized the CMOA page not only by series but by the individual movies in the order they came out. You are awesome.
01:42:56 PM Jun 17th 2010
I'm not taking up too much space am I? I mean it started with me noticing the Godzilla character tropes could really use some buffing up and now I'm coming on every other day to add something.

When I saw the CMOA page was created I decided to wait a bit before diving in and unleashing lots of stuff. I worry I'm hogging it but once I started posting stuff it seemed like more activity kicked up. This is probably because my grammar and double checking skills are atrocious so it kind of demands corrections, sorry Colonial1.1, I appreciate your patience and help because you seem to pick up a lot of the pieces I leave behind.

But if I'm hogging it or over doing it and not letting other fans speak up then please say so.

Contribute more, please. These days there don't seem to be many of us adding them.

If there isn't a Crowning Moment of Awesome Godzilla page let's make one!

can we defeat the "Funny" page? it's completely unnecessary
07:44:37 PM Apr 21st 2010
There's a "Funny" page? all I see is the C Mo F trope, and I can't argue with it.
