^Read. The anime's...ok, but the art gets a bit repetitive, and there's only so much Stock Footage you can take of heads exploding before it gets old.
The manga has much more detailed art, and the martial art sequences are more intricately choreographed.
Play Again? Y/NDo you know where it can be read best? Much of the scanlations i'm reading still aren't complete, and the localized editions never did get complete.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Hmmm...
Not sure, if you've already tried mangafox and the like.
Play Again? Y/NFot NS as Fetish Fuel: yes or no? *
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.A possible deciding factor? All 152 episodes of Fist of the North Star are on Hulu, while most scanlations you'll find online are incomplete. Watching it would just be easier.
Personally, I've only seen The Movie, which was fun but frustratingly open ended. Word to the wise, the movie is responsible for the show's reputation in the west, and the show isn't as unbelievably gory.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Please do not put "fist" and "porn" in the same sentence. >_<
Play Again? Y/NI'd definately recommend the manga over the anime, but since the scanlations for the series aren't complete..I suppose the anime will have to do. But, be forewarned..the majority of the early episodes is stupid filler. With plots like Kenshiro having to save a village from a vampire who uses mind control through a organ.
The Movie is good, but it cuts out alot of the plot and only covers the first 50 or 60 episodes of the series. It has a So Bad, It's Good English Dub.
You can get what you want and still not be very happy.I frickin' LOVE Fist of the North Star. I grew up watching cheesy kung fu movies with my dad, and Fist of the North Star is cheesy kung fu distilled then turned up to twelve.
It's unintentionally funny, intentionally awesome and incrediby easy to predict (Although that's not all it's fault). Usually. I still say the most surprising thing in the whole series is when a pair of Red Shirts actually managed to defeat a named villain.
Look, if you go into Fot NS expecting anything other than hyper-manly martial arts causing legions of helpless mooks to inexplicably explode and the death of every single person that tries to help Kenshiro... Your looking for something Fot NS doesn't have. But that's okay.
As for Fetish Fuel... Well, you got ripped Warrior Poet with a wounded but pure soul that takes off his shirt Once an Episode wandering whistfully across the wastelands. If you can get over the enormous eyebrows i'm sure there's something the ladies can sink their teeth into.
Bleye knows Sabers.Couldn't have said all that better myself, Shirow
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Not to mention all of the James Bondage/ hot muscle-y guys getting injured.
And I thought it was Fisting the North Star, dammit!
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over. All I have to say to my sister is "Raging Flame Reverse Flow Punch!" and the memes start flying. Watching it late, late at night on Channel 4 was a big part of my adolescence.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. The fact that they made a fake funeral for the main villain of this series is epic beyond words.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Remember: The 801 sacred techniques of the fist of the north star include one that is specifically designed to kill people who attack by breathing fire.
Bleye knows Sabers. Was that a filler episode?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Admittedly I went into the anime mostly for the So Bad, It's Good/Narm quality, but ended up... liking it. If you're in it for laughs make sure to check out the Australian live-action adaptation.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.manga or anime? why not both
Lol, at jagi's one.
Watch SymphogearSo I continued reading the manga. It's less "corny" than the anime. The whole "the whole thing isn't in English" bit is a downer, but you can always study.
Also, I noticed that this manga reads really well with Bruce Springsteen as background music. "Thunder Road" and "Born to Run" especially.
The Kagami topic has now reached 201 posts! (Nov 5)^Awesome.
Also glad you're enjoying it, Edmond.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Just Played Fist Of The North Star Ken's Rage. Dantes, if you want to get in to the world of the series without having find scanlations and don't mind Dynasty Warriors styled gameplay, this game is for you.

Watch Symphogear
Should I watch it or read it?
It started in mud, as many things do.
