I HATE HAVING THE LAST POST ON THE PAGE
Also from Code Geass: Kallen. She is Gokudera in female form, and I just love that character type.
On another note, I know I really love a character when I want to write lots and lots of crossovers with him/her as the primary focus.
"we never see nearly as much of Suzaku's inner workings"
That's probably why I don't LOVE love him. I love people whom I can understand and identify with.
@Raw Power: Haha, I never thought of that! Oh yes, Mercedes would most probably willingly leave with him too. Albert, though, that's a whole other question. Even with his man crush on him.
I'd say he should have revenged himself on the other two people as usual, and then take Mercedes and Albert from Fernand, that should be punishment enough. Heh.
Re:Nao and Liar Game, I'm in the minority, but I actually really liked the changes they made with some of the characters for the live action drama. Akiyama in particular, I think they fleshed out his backstory enough to give him real motivation for what he's doing. His mother was ripped off by a MLM organization, and committed suicide over it, he went to jail because he got caught trying to destroy the organization from the inside out. He finds out that the Liar Game is an offshoot of that organization.
And if they left Fukunaga the same...it might have come across as too campy. I like the new portrayal, even if it isn't as...outlandish. He also has the biggest CMOA in the first series, which helps my view of him immensely. *Maniacal laughter* with him and the bad guy. All of a sudden, DOUBT. 100 Million. The look on the bad guy's face is epic
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserveFukunaga is a hot woman. How is that campy?! Just get a female actor with a really deep, versatile voice like Paku Romi or something and you're set.
EDIT: Also, the stuff about Akiyama that you spoiled was from Liar Game - Roots of A. The manga.

Bah. I knew I should have found the rest of that :p
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserveHmm, I have so many.
- Date Masamune: ARE YOU READY!? PUT YA GUNS ON! And everyone else in that show and game series.
- Yugi and Atem: For having such a dynamic relationship later on in the story. Oh, and Yami Marik and Yami Bakura for pushing 4kids standards on censorship.
- Jaden/Judai Yuki: For showing just how bad it would be to be a Shonen Hero.
- Yusei Fudo: Despite being a Stoic, He Can utilize Defeat Means Friend Ship with just as much heartwarming, and Kicking ass without having to always duel. Also everyone else in the series as well.
- Bleach: Just about eveyone.
- Naruto: Naruto himself for being the biggest wooobie in shonen jump and still manage to play many shonen Heroe tropes straight despite his hardships.
- Mahou Sensei Negima: Every character there.
And so Many more.

Since when were you under the impression that I was Aizen?I think a lot of my favorites have been said already, but hey, why not?
- Most of the cast of Azumanga Daioh, because I'm hopelessly fanboyish about that series. Maybe not as much on Yomi or Kagura, but still.
- Several from Baccano. Issac/Miria of course, Firo Prochanezzo , I'm nthing Jacuzzi, and one who I haven't seen mentioned yet, Ladd Ruso.
- I really feel for Guts from Berserk. Oh, and the total badassness helps.
- The main cast of Yu Yu Hakusho. Especially Kuwabara.
- Lina Inverse of Slayers. Also King Phil, even though he doesn't pop up much. "Good Will Towards Mankind Kick!"
- Nthing Integra Wingates Fairbrook Hellsing. For pure badassery.
- Isumi from the Hayatethe Combat Butler manga . A well done clumsy character who's a secret badass.
- Nana from the Elfen Lied manga. Easily the character I was most attached to.
- Several from Full Metal Alchemist. Ling, Scar, Ed, Alphonse, May, Roy, and the Armstrongs. On the more villainous side, There's Gluttony, Wrath, and Kimblee. God there's a lot of characters.
- Yamazaki from Welcometothe NHK. Because he's hilarious. "Begone, dirty whores!"
I'm sure there's some I'm missing, but this seems pretty good.

I liked Satou because he was a relatable loser, It felt like the creator wasn't cheapening the issues of being a Hikikomori; he was portrayed as a character who wanted and knew he needed to change, but couldn't grasp the methods how; the character was utterly pathetic but he was self aware of that fact.
NEETing now.Oooh,yes. Nthing Ladd Russo.
A few more:
Suzaku Lelouch may have the Crazy Awesome and Large Ham qualites, but really, Suzaku has by far the more interesting character arc.
Touga For reasons which are probably spoilers. But let's just say that he ended up as a way different kind of character than I expected.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntLadd Russo is the best Baccano character, period. So damn awesome.
^ I found him boring. In fact, I found all of Baccano pretty boring. The accents in the dub only made it even more dull.
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?Baccano was intriguing, but for the structure of the plot rather than the actual plot elements or characters.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntLadd was pure awesome. And crazy. And awesome. (L and Nozomu Itoshiki, too).

Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus. But we've already established that you have worse taste than people who happily eat their own feces.
In no particular order:
Hayate and Fate - Fate starts as a woobie and turns into a strong, competent mother figure by the end of Strikers. Hayate starts off woobishly as well, and then she proceeds to turn into a competent strategos. She is also pretty much the most powerful character in the series, has the best looking outfit and tops it off by being a brunette.
Another character I really enjoy is Alucard. He is an immortal blood knight who has the ability to turn God Mode on at will, but he doesn't because even fights are a lot more exciting. He also could start ravaging the innocent free world at will, but he doesn't because of his promise to Integra. Basically he is an über powerful person who chooses to limit himself in different ways. I find that power, and that restraint incredibly interesting (and the times when he chooses to remove his limits extremely exhilarating).
Yuki Nagato. Despite the fact that she is a Rei clone, I like her since she is the quiet type, which I find intriguing. She also receives lots of character development, has immense loyalty towards Kyon, and above all, kicks some major ass. Barring Haruhi, Yuki is the most powerful person we see in the show, and considering that unlike Haruhi, she is aware of her own powers and thus could be argued to be even more powerful than Haruhi in everyday encounters. Or I could have just posted this instead. Some possible spoilers for 1st season Haruhi◊.
Drosselmeyer has to be mentioned as well. The guy has immense power over other characters, he has a cool dress, and I just in general enjoy his personality for the most part. Not to mention that storytelling wise he is quite in a class of his own.
Those are the biggest favourites, could have posted more but decided to keep it short. Still haven't finished Baccano, but so far I'm really digging Jacuzzi and Ennis, so they could have quite possibly made it to this list had I already finished the series.
Now looking back, I can see that I really dig powerful characters. Funny thing that.

"I forgot to recreate the glasses" ... And the fandom wept>My face when she's canonically stated to be weak as fuck
>My face when Reinforce says "bitch please" because she's by far the most powerful character
That said, GENDOOOOOOOO◊.
She has the power, she just doesn't know how to use it.
Also I'm disregarding anything that mangas/soundstages might say on the matter.

Semantics.
"I forgot to recreate the glasses" ... And the fandom weptThe entire cast of Azumanga Daioh.
Most of the entire cast of Baccano minus a few people.
Most of the entire cast of Durarara minus Izaya. And even then he's fun to watch.
Also Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. It's kind of sad how small this thread is in comparison to the "characters you hate" thread. :(
I'm sure I could think of more, but at the moment my favorite is Shizuo of Durarara. Because despite his hilariously over-the-top levels of AND RAEG, he is so obviously an Adorkable Cool Big Bro that just wants to get along with everyone. (see interactions re:Celty and Vorona). Not to mention that he's an Iron Woobie thatachieved superhuman strength by being too stubborn to give up. Also, he looks damn good in a bartender suit.
Also, Celty. For being the most well rounded anime heroine I've seen since... ever, and being the perfect mixture of totally Bad Ass and adorable.
This one is newer.
Everything is better as a Dunkleosteus.
See, I'm exactly the other way around from you - while Lelouch was interesting, I found him to be very what you see is what you get. He does interesting things, but the kind of person he is is fairly clear from early on. Whereas Suzaku has all these layers, he's set up as one thing and then revealed to be something else entirely (He's a Deconstruction of that shonen archetype, basically), and unlike Lelouch - who as protagonist we see a lot of his thoughts and emotions - we never see nearly as much of Suzaku's inner workings. Until the end, there's more mystery there, which I find fascinating.
