Lulzsec was a hacktivist group that used documented exploits to gain access to private data from various companies which they then released. Their final dump of info included a table of 548,773 users paired with MD 5 hashed passwords (hashing is a one-way cryptographic operation but the MD 5 algorithm is weak and there are ways to reverse it that I don't know the details of) from the Battlefield Heroes beta. I was one of those users whose information was dumped as I found out from https://haveibeenpwned.com/
