I was thinking about how Indonesians are Sad Clowns and if the country had an MBTI type it would probably be ENTP or ENFP.

How would you type your respective countries?

Speaking of vampires, I just had this random thought.

Are there any particular stars that hold a special place in vampire folklore? Or do they just like the night sky in general?

So I'm planning on building a 300 sq. Ft mini apartment (10ft. X 5 ft X 6 ft.) just for hanging out in but I face one problem is how to build a door and window framing.

I've seen doors and windows in stores already in their frame. Just build a hole the same size, put it in, and secure it.

(we replaced the back door once, and had to spend over ten minutes sanding the top of the doorway down so the new frame would fit in it.)

Cool and I do know how to build the wood part of a door and window frame but actually securing it in is the hard part.

Had a bit of an Al Pachino moment today. After work I was grabbing some food from Mc Donalds on my way back home, and as I was waiting for my food some fat, black lady in hospital scrubs was being a bitch to the employees. Apparently her sandwich wasn't wrapped perfectly. She said they need to train their people to be more professional, so I quip "I hope you are this professional at your job". She got all pissed and said "excuse me?" to which I replied "no, I don't think I will." (quoting Al from Scent of Woman)

Seriously fuck that lady. No need to be a cunt to service personnel.

Kingsman: The Secret Service has a very similar plot to the first Alex Rider book.

No seriously.

I've been playing a lot of Touhou lately. I feel that story-and-lore-wise, Touhou and Kirby are actually quite similar.

Though they are drastically different in gameplay (with Touhou being an infamously Nintendo Hard Bullet Hell shooter, and Kirby being a mostly-easy 2D platformer series), I find a few simularities in the story and lore.

The protagonists can both be considered cases of Good Is Not Nice. The secondary protagonists are the boisterous best friend of the protagonist, though they started out as enemies. Both take place in a Crapsaccharine World.

Both feature cute characters (though in Touhou's case, it's often shown more in fan-art rather than the games).

Both have antagonists with surprisingly dark and tragic backstories every now and then, and the most recent antagonist of the most recent game in both series has a son/daughter who went missing/died, which triggers their Start of Darkness.

Mistborn: The Original Trilogy has a surprising amount of plot in common with Fable 3. (Mistborn pulls off the execution much better, of course.)

Man, the grocery chain I work for must really be trying to be progressive. It's website, in it's clothing sale advert, has one plus size model and one outright fat one. Double chin and all.

Oh man I love Advance Wars, I need to dig out my old GBA SP and my cartridge. Sammi for lyfe, yo! Or Kanbei.

Season 2 of The 100 has a couple plot threads in common with Fallout 2 and Fallout 3.

And it's got a way better Enclave than Fallout 3!

I'm listening to Ritchie Valens' version of "La Bamba". I've jokingly sang a thrash metal version, which consists of faster guitars and screamed vocals. It's something to hear a cappella.

I started reading Sherlock Holmes stories. So far I only finished A Study in Scarlet and halfway through the The Sign Of Four. Out of amusement, I mentally replaced every pronouns involving Sherlock with that of feminine. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of works based on Sherlock Holmes that have Watson as a woman, so I did the opposite way (then again, I wouldn't be surprised if THAT is also pretty common).

Anyhow, I find that Sherlock...makes an oddly adorable love interest. evil grin

Final report on the mp3cd build for the work truck. I cracked the problem. Mostly.

I built the disc with CDFS formatting and it works. The disc plays fine, but nested folders are beyond it. That's a little less convenient to navigate, but considering folder navigation on this player is just up/down it shouldn't be too surprising that it's not interested in any folders that only have other folders in them.

Also it's pretty tedious cutting really long audiobook/audio drama tracks into manageable chunks since data disc mode on this player doesn't seek. I'm using some simple automation with Audacity, but there could be a lot less grunt work left for me.

This development comes within weeks of a new vehicle about to be added to the store fleet, which will allow me to rotate into driving that truck daily instead of the one day a week I'm in and the guy who drives it daily isn't.
