During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Since people have asked, a decent candidate for a complete monster quote for Zamasu is from the conversation present Zamasu has after being caught killing Gowasu but before being destroyed by Beerus. I don't know if it's good enough (also I'm not convinced that this is quite the correct translation).
Present Zamasu: I'm surprised you could learn all my plans, simply from me killing Gowasu.
Son Gokû: It's simple: we went to the future and saw what happened.
Present Zamasu: The future?
Son Gokû: Yeah. Because of what you and your ally did, the world was destroyed and a lot of people lost their lives!
Present Zamasu: So my goal is fulfilled... which means I won't die here!

@CLOVIS, Zamasu's plan is actually worse than Majin Buu. All Buu did was destroy some planets/galaxies, kill the Universe 7 Surpreme Kais, and was a threat primarily to universe 7. Zamasu eradicated both all mortals and all gods from every universe (were talking 12 universes here) that's a body-count well into the trillions, outdoing every villain before him. What makes it worse is like I said in the effort post, Zamasu is a Kai meant to be benevolent. a Kai outdoes destructive monsters like Buu and Cell, and even Frieza came from long line of genocidal galactic terrorists and Zamasu outdoes them all.
I'll give Mason, Zamasu, Nik and Curtis . Seeing how Machinedramon's been voted up solid, here's his write up:
Machinedramon is a cold, calculating sadist whose every line clearly shows how much he loves killing people, and according to Piedmon, he lives only to destroy. He lent his machine army to Piedmon for his slaughter of the digital guardians in their castle when he went to steal the tags and crests, as well as wiping out the Geckomon kingdom, leaving only three survivors. When the Digi Destined are in his territory, he rigs the city with death traps in attempts to kill them, kills his own henchmen when he deems them no longer useful, and massacres an entire hoard of Numemon when they attempt to protect Kari from him. The most chilling line he has in the entire show is telling Kari, a little girl and one of the youngest Digidestined, that he is going to kill her in the most painful way he possibly can. Despite being apparently destroyed by Wargreymon, the Wanderswan Games reveal that he survives and becomes Milleniummon, going on to rip Digiworld in half, turn Tai and Agumon to stone, and after being destroyed a portion of his data forms a Dark Spore which infects Ken and leads him to become the Digimon Emperor. After being reborn again he invades an alternate Digiworld, digivolves to Zeed Milleniummon, and destroys nearly everything in the new Digiworld, setting himself up as absolute ruler over the ravaged husk of a world.
One more thing, considering Milleniummon has the intellect to desire domination over multiple worlds it's pretty obvious Machinedramon's the dominant personality in the fusion.

Please add here. Which series is he from?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsHe's from Adventure.
How should the order go? Currently it's Myotismon, then Piedmon, plus this new one.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsMyotismon > Machinedramon> Piedmon. Order of appearance.
One more thing, now that Machinedramon's approved, the part of Piedmon's entry describing Myotismon as a fellow Complete Monster should be altered to cover Machinedramon too. I'll add it to the sandbox. I've also removed that bit about participating in the killing of Piximon because we don't know that for sure, and as A New Man said previously Machinedramon's probably the guilty party there judging by the explosion.

Alright, my Psycho EP will be coming up soon, but for now, I wanna talk about Max Steel 2013. Kind of long post incoming, but I'd REALLY appreciate it if some would take the time to read and respond to this.
Now, about a year back, I proposed the two main villains from the series, Miles Dredd and Makino. For reference, here's their current write-ups:
- Miles Dredd is Max Steel's Arch-Enemy, and one of the most monstrous villains in the series. Having assisted scientist Jim McGrath in harnessing the power of TURBO Energy, Dredd betrayed and seemingly murdered his partner, though at a price: Dredd now craved TURBO Energy as a power source for himself. Creating the corporation THI, which specializes in black market arms dealings and chemical weapons, Dredd began relentlessly pursuing any form of TURBO he could find, and, when he learns Max Steel produces an unlimited supply of it, Dredd becomes obsessed with the boy, regularly trying to torturously drain him of his life energy. Believing Max to be a high school student, Dredd has an occupied high school set aflame to test his theory, and, when Max confronts him later, Dredd targets a school bus full of young teens during the battle. Dredd tries numerous methods throughout the series to destroy the highly-populated city of Copper Canyon, from draining the life force of the citizens, to launching a Nuke at the city. Revealed to have made a deal with Makino to assist him in annihilating the human race, Dredd plans to betray his master, take over his armada, and conquer everything in his path once the Earth is destroyed.
- Makino is the most powerful and deadliest villain Max Steel has ever faced. Creating the Ultralink species, Makino began absorbing entire worlds into himself, destroying the planets and all their inhabitants in the process. Makino uses Jim McGrath as a living battery to power his super weapon, the Alphalink. Having made a deal with Dredd, which involves Dredd assisting him in destroying the Earth, Makino immediately betrays his partner at his earliest convenience and tries to murder him. Capturing Steel, a former Ultralink, Makino tortures Steel to learn why he rebelled against him. While fighting Max Steel, Makino takes sick pleasure in beating him down and taunting him about the Earth's imminent destruction, and, when his plans are foiled, Makino makes one last attempt to murder Max and his long lost father.
Unbeknownst to me until recently, Max Steel 2013 continued it's story in the form of direct-to-tv animated films, of which there have been 5 so far.
In these, both Makino and Dredd reappear, so I wanna talk about some things.
First off, Makino. Makino returns as the main villain for one of the films, called Wrath of Makino. In it, Makino's origin is revealed; He is actually an artificial intelligence created to absorb and adapt to his surroundings.
Unfortunately, Makino rather quickly turned on his creator, possessing him before seemingly kill the man's partner, aftern which Makino went on to commit his crimes listed in his write-up.
After being defeated in the series proper, Makino returns in the present of the film, having survived due to his core processing unit being intact, possesses Max Steel, viciously abuses his Ultralink "children", firmly dismissing any possible care he had for them, then reveals that he no longer wants to absorb Earth. He's just gonna blow it up for giggles and as revenge on N-Tek for thwarting his plans in the first place.
While possessing first Max, then his father, Jim, Makino sadistically taunts the duo with the other's memories, making up lies that Jim is disappointed in Max just to torture him.
Makino's plan to annihilate Earth is stopped, while his core processing unit is flung into the sun, ending his reign of terror.
Now, this is all worth adding to his write-up, and I'd like to address the fact that he is an artificial construct. First off, while Makino was indeed created to absorb and adapt to his surroundings, he not only took it way farther than his creator intended, but simultaneously is one SADISTIC prick about it. Seriously, if he was "just following his programming", he wouldn't go out of his way to torture and cause emotional pain to his enemies while wearing a Slasher Smile and drawing out any duels woith them because he's a Blood Knight, so there's THAT.
Secondly, to use DCAU!Brainiac as a reference, even if he WAS just taking his programming to the extreme by absorbing entire worlds and their populations into himself, this film reveals that he CAN ignore any programming. He tries to DESTROY Earth. Not absorb it or consume it, but utterly annihilate it out of petty spite. This is much like how DCAU!Brainiac is shown capable of ignoring any "programming" when he decides he'd rather conquer than destroy after he merges with Lex.
So, for now, that's all. I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on this, as I know "artificial intelligence" CAN be a mite annoying when dubbing one a CM, but I believe I've adequately refuted any possible disqualifiers, and believe that Makino should stay listed a CM. Please do chime in on your thoughts.

Tonight I dine on monkey soup.If what you're saying is true, and Makino has the ability not to commit acts of evil, there's no problem here. Something being Made of Evil means it's out of there control. What you're saying is he clearly had control, and tried to destroy the world just for shits and giggles.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.Makino is pretty much on Brainiac, Skynet, and Ultron levels of AI. There's nothing in his base programming that tells him he has to do the things he does and makes him AS bad as we see him being - that's all something he chooses to be for himself. keeping him.

Makino's still an easy keep, I think.
Keep Makino.

First off, there is no such thing. Mainstream-Stryfe is from Earth-4935. And he has the excuse of being formed into the way he is by Apocalypse.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianMainstream Stryfe isn't 616? I did not know that.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsHe is a Cable clone from an alternate timeline, which is why I don't want to do an effort post on him, the character is a mess. He is the living embodiment of the X-Men's convoluted contunity.
General Stryfe was more straight forward and easy to do in comparison.

Good gravy, just give me simple ones like Rudi Gagarin or Barracuda.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsPlaying some catch-up here...
to Bernard Phillips, Machinedramon, Duke Nikslaus, Zamasu, John Curtis (I wasn't around for the original vote on him, so I'm tossing mine in now), John Dread (I remember the original Max Steel, too, although I found Psycho more memorable than Dread; it's the look), and General Stryfe.
Fun fact: Greg Weisman worked on the first season of Max Steel (the original). I'm not 100% sure about the extent of his role, but he was definitely around for the casting, according to his website, Ask Greg.
Here’s my first attempt on Zamasu’s write-up. I’ll put the potholes later.
- Zamasu, a former Kai from Universe 10 and apprentice to the Supreme Kai Gowasu, has a strong distrust towards the mortals, because they keep making the same mistakes. Once Goku shows a power capable of rivaling the gods, he considers the mortals as inherently evil and dangerous. Gradually falling into villainy, Zamasu eventually elaborates a plan to eliminate every single one mortal, that he calls « Zero Mortal Plan ». To enact this plan, Zamasu cross the line by murdering his own mentor Gowasu to steal the potara earrings to usurp his statut as a Supreme Kai, and the time ring to travels through timelines. Then, he travels in another timeline to collect the Super Dragon Balls, exchange his body with Goku’s, and kill him right in front of his family before killing them as well, solely out of spite. Knowing that no one would be willing to help him for his plan, Zamasu (as Goku Black) formed a team with his future self, Zamasu. Together, they proceed to travel in Trunks’s timeline to destroy the Super Dragon Balls so that his plan can't be reversed, murder all gods to keep them from interfering, and sadistically reduce humanity into near-extinction. Fusing with his Future self, Zamasu proceeds to cause mass destruction on Earth just to demonstrate his power. After Trunks managed to destroy his physical body, Merged Zamasu’s essence survived, and tried to exterminate all life throughout the multiverse by merging with it, extending the effect on the others timelines. In all of his incarnations, Zamasu is a petty, hypocritical, and sadistic narcissist who thinks that the world should be reshaped in his own vision.
What do you think about it ?
