Not Tropeworthy: Beauty Mark

Beauty Mark describes itself as a trope about how facial moles have been handled in fiction but almost all of the examples and wicks just point out where a character’s facial mole is without further context. I had trouble finding anything that wasn’t "Alice has a mole on the left side of her face" while I was wick checking. The very few wicks that had slightly more context than that seemed to be covered by other appearance tropes like Distinguishing Mark. There are some yardable facial mole concepts in the description (like facial moles being seen as beautiful in-universe or being used as a representation of a character’s sorrow) but this isn’t represented well in the wicks.

I don’t think this trope is salvageable at this point and I think we would either have to cut it or turn it into a disambiguation.

I'm down for a cut. The few examples with context could fit under Distinguishing Mark, Spotting the Thread, etc.

I'd prefer cutting due to a lack of non-Chairs wicks.

Edit: We could move non-Chairs wicks to the tropes Tabs listed. Maybe also disambiguating.

It's going for Fashionable Asymmetry too (a too-symmetrical face might either be unremarkable or unsettlingly perfect, while a single visible mole draws the eye), but is chairs in practice.

So I thought I'd say that since we appear to already have enough cut votes with what's been posted, if I end up calling the vote in a few days via said posts, I'll probably still end up disambiguating because the page has over 12,000 inbounds.

Perhaps we could create a smaller trope that discusses fake beauty marks. I recall how The Artist film shows the rise of an actress because a fake beauty mark given to her by the silent actor.
