Yashiro Amano, a high school student, is the main protagonist of the manga.- Bettyand Veronica: Yashiro's a gentle and kind Archie,Kenta Nanahara is his caring and soft friend Betty, while Rin Torii is a perky and outspoken classmate Veronica.
- Childhood Friends: Yashiro and Kenta knew each other for 17 years when they were children.
- Crush Blush: Yashiro has many moments where he blushes around in front of his crush Kenta Nanahara.
- Death by Irony: after his rejection,he dies by getting hit by a truck while talking to Kenta after his love confession.

- Beneath the Mask: She tries to seem like a sweet ordinary girl ,but this is just Yashiro way of pretending to be a completely different person in front of Kenta.
- Crush Blush: When meeting Kenta for the second time sitting next to each other,she tries to seem composed but can't helped make a excuse to leave since she tries to hide that she is blushing really hard.

- Meaningful Name: Kagura's name can mean ancient Shinto music and dancing though her first name means "God is having fun" noticed by Rin in chapter 8.

Kenta Nanahara is Yashiro's childhood best friend, who goes to the same school as him.- Chick Magnet: Kenta has attract and dated many girls yet he is clueless as to why they keep breaking up with him as it was revealed the reason he keeps on breaking up with his girlfriends such as Rin is whenever they bring up Yashiro,he explains Yashiro is his only friend since they were born and can get a another girlfriend whenever he wants,unknown to Yashiro. He even brags about how popular he is with everyone that dogs flock to him hence how he got his scar though this is a lie he puts up after he gotten bitten by dog while protecting Yashiro.
- Childhood Friends: Kenta relationship with his best friend Yashiro for 17 years started off as children because their mother were friends.
- Cute Little Fangs: Kenta has two fangs though it not for supernatural reasons.
- Foil: Kenta is the opposite to Yashiro as he is much more open to people and express a friendly attitude with everyone.

God is a laidback supernatural being that watches over the shrine.- Dude Looks Like a Lady: He looks so much like a lady with his hair,Kagura was not sure if God was a case of Ambiguous Gender since in her words,"considering how beautiful he is".
- Gender Reveal: In chapter 4,Ukon confirms God is male much to Kagura's surprise.
- Humans Are Morons: Views humans this until taking a interest in Yashiro.

Rin Torii is Kenta Nanahara ex-girlfriend and Kagura Tendou's classmate.- Birds of a Feather: When she first meet Kagura,she thought Kagura was very similar to her in personality though she finds out they quite different.Yashiro thinks Rin is quite similar in their feelings to people as he feels if he reveals to be Yashiro to her that she will understand his feelings for Kenta.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: for her friend Kagura,She begins to get jealous whenever Kagura is around Kenta as she tries to separate them.She doesn't want to hand Kagura over to anyone and wants her to herself.She reveals to Kagura in chapter 7 that she doesn't know if it is as friends or romantically ,it is the latter.

- Girlish Pigtails: Her hairstyle consists of two pigtails though this changes after she reveals her feelings for Kagura as she later sports a side ponytail.

God's sidekick and fox attendant.- Asian Fox Spirit: She's a fox who's also the attendant of a god in a Shinto shrine, similar to how foxes are believed to be the attendants of the Shinto deity Inari.
- Gender Reveal: It was ambiguous whether Ukon was actually a boy or girl at the beginning but in chapter 4,when Kagura is taking a bath, Ukon wants Kagura to understand what girls go through on a daily basis thus it is revealed that Ukon is actually a girl.
- Innocent Blue Eyes: In her human form.
- Mystical White Hair: In her human form.
- Shipper on Deck: She often encourages Yashiro to talk to Kenta and loves when they are interacting more than God.
