Poor Image: Does This Remind You Of Anything

No, I think we've got enough consensus for 8, but I don't have time ATM to put it up.

Am I to take that as permission to do so myself?

Yes; normally if I say something like that or say that we should go with a pic and the thread's starred, that's free rein to put up that pic because I'm not where I can do it at that time.

However, this page has a Western Animation subpage, and as I believe 8 is from Family Guy, I'm inclined to say that the new pic should be put on that subpage and the pic on the main page should just be pulled. Thoughts?

EDIT: I just checked that subpage and its pic is just as erotically-themed as the current pic, so I really lean toward replacing it with the FG pic.

So to have something on the main page, it needs to be neither from Advertising, Animated Films, Anime and Manga, Comic Books, Fan Works, Film, Literature, Live Action TV, Music, Video Games, Web Comics, nor Western Animation?

I'd say pull the one on Western Animation regardless of replacement, but that's narrowing down the options for the main page a lot.

Frankly, I'd say since most of the subpages are imageless, we might as well leave 'em all imageless if only for a sense of consistency. At least until we have an image idea for each.

I'd rather have 8 in the main page and no image in the Western Animation subpage than having no image at all in the main page, which more people will visit.

The quality isn't the problem. The problem is that there's a misconception that this trope is only for sexual innuendo and that's the kind of example the current image is depicting. This is why we've been discussing an image that references drug use instead.

Screw "media agnostic". The best illustration should go with the trope description.

What is media agnostic?

The guideline that, in the case of a trope page that has subpages, the pic on the main page should try to be something like falls outside of our normal media categories, like a good photograph, while images from specific media types should go to their respective subpages. It was more heavily enforced under the previous administration and I still think it has merit, but I prefer that if the main page has examples that don't merit their own subpages, the pic on the main page should be drawn from them if possible.

In this case, however, there's clear consensus to have 8 on the main page and I don't think we'll have a good time finding a pic from the examples on the main page, so I'll work on making the changes.

I mentioned this earlier and it seems like people didn't notice it or something. The image in 8 illustrates Alien Catnip better than Does This Remind You of Anything?... And Alien Catnip is currently imageless.

I think that's a bit of a stretch, and Cookie Monster lighting up a bit of dough in the same manner as someone cooking heroin is a great way to illustrate Does This Remind You of Anything?.

Yes, I find the image much more suitable for Does This Remind You of Anything? than Alien Catnip, especially in context.

Questions:

Are we still looking for image in Western Animation subpage?

Are we going to open a missuse case in the repair shop? Or is considered unnecesary and we just have to move the sexual examples to Double Entendre?

EDIT: Actually on second thought as there are so many subpages may it will be easily to re-name them and move the non-sex examples to the main. Damn, Freud Was Right on this one.

Not all sex examples are Double Entendre, which is specifically a dialogue trope... see the image◊ on the Anime/Manga subpage, which doesn't really fit into any of the subtropes.
