The mangaka mostly does porn. This is literally his ONLY mainstream series.
Oh I know, it was just unusual.
I got a look at some of the Hentai. Onsa's character design is reused from another one of his works, the work was a little unusual. I don't know if I can unsee in relation to this series lol.
Ah, I wasn't the only one who thought that was a cameo.
Interesting so far, a bit rough around the edges for a slice of moe series and the humour mostly falls flat, but with potential.

I was a little disappointed that they opted for Kikuko Inoue to voice Baito the training school bike instead of someone... Male, which I had imagined the bike to be voiced as.
But holy heck, I had forgotten the suggestive lines from the bike school segment too! XD
A live action promo for the B Ds.
Hm, looks like Onsa would hate the YowaPedal universe. And her failing at being cool reminds me of Karamatsu all too well.
Japan really loves shows about girls and machines, huh? I've seen girls with guns, girls with tanks, and now girls with motorbikes.
This should be entertaining.
It also has a good stopping point too, though we'll see if the anime gets to that point.
Can't wait until we get to meet the Principal and the Club Adviser (who's definitely not the club adviser of Sabagebu!, totally not).
Finally, wanting to do Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior as a school play. What.

So episode two is out. Nice OP but man did I notice some budget downgrades in the ep itself so far.
they tried way too hard to make the opening section dramatic.
Rest in peace Baita, you stole the show.

Props to another forum in pointing out how even the NAMES and quirks of our characters point to the bike brand they represent:
- Hane means 'wing,' referencing the wing motif of Honda Motorcycles.
- Rin means 'bell' and the suzu from Suzuki also means 'bell.'
- Onsa means 'tuning fork,' referencing the Yamaha branding.
- Lime is the iconic color of Kawasaki cycles.
Hijiri of course represents the Ducati, but there aren't any direct connections between her name or her personality to the company.
Hayekawa is God. Hijiri is...interesting.
Only Baita could talk...I hope she and Hane meet again...
Homies help homies. Always.
I like the rivalry Frizzy and Giraffe have going for them.
Nice PR message at the end. Don't try this at home.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. This show is confusing. I don't get why frizzy is hating on Suzuki so much, is that some inside joke? Also, what's with the ojo who wants to be a delinquent? And why does only one motorbike talks?
And the flashback at the beginning was... something. Ganbare, giraffe-chan!
The manga makes it a point to differentiate an enthusiast (who likes motorcycles but also acknowledges how they suck at times) with blind fanboyism, and Rin is the latter.
Then again, Onsa isn't much better, as you'll see when the argument moves on to tuning (modding a a bike to run better) versus customs (modding a bike to run worse, but cooler).

Okay, when you speak customs, you mean custom modification that makes a bike only good for a very specialized purpose, or customs modification like custom paintjob and obnoxious not-muffler?
The manga defines it as a latter. We're talking stuff like high back seats, streamers on the handlebars, extra side mirrors etc. Stuff that don't necessarily increase performance any, but make your bike more comfortable to you as a rider, OR make it... prettier.
In my country, there's custom of having motorcycle (admittedly, underbone types, mostly) having their frame lowered to make it more easier to ride. We ralk about 150 cm or shorter, especially the ladies. My aunt used to have one, and my little sister, too. Aunt's bikes passed on me (more or less) (she had new matic bike), and for me, 169 cm, it is feel easier to drive.
Actually, I kind of want to talk about Hijiri, as her attitude doesn't really fit some of the stuff we currently have.
To put it simply, she wants to live the renegade lifestyle, and yet she has some weird ideas about what a bike-riding renegade really IS (kind of how Wakaba from Wakaba Girl keeps on saying gyaru without realizing what it means). At first, it looks like she's patterning it from what she got from Rebel Without A Cause — a devil-may-care Badass Biker who does what he wants and goes where he pleases... Except later on it's show that she's willing to sabotage her friends' grades because she feels that renegade bikers also means delinquents, which means her friends can't have good grades. Then there's her reaction when Rin running over foxes...
Ok man Rin and Onsa are stealing the show. Rin's Tsundere got denied hard.
Ok Biker Jesus got me, holy crap my sides. And we got the Hotsprings Episode scenes from the OAV.
They're kind of cutting out bike trivia from the same scenes in the manga. In the scene where the trio of Ducati motorbikes tip over, the old butler actually commented on just WHY the Ducatis released their oil and then tipped over. Ditto for what he was blaming the engine explosion on later.
RIN SURE HAS SOME AMAZING STORIES TO TELL I TELL YOU HWAT. Also her body is a tad...
Hane just has a habit of running into some interesting people. A talking motorcycle, Jesus...Not that she likes to brag about these things.
Poor Raimu. Sometimes it's not easy being so awesome.
I like how they're all so chill about being in an onsen with Hayakawa. It's a nice change of pace from BAKA HENTAAAAAAAAAAAIII! Then again, it's Hayakawa. Don't die, dude.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
They're chill with Hayakawa primarily because they seem to think he's an extension of Hijiri. Remember, she still doesn't have a license, after all.
Why do Rin stories always involve her dad doing something stupid?
Biking Jesus, what a guy! You can meet amazing people while driving a bike.
Well, it looks like we're getting the Bike Club's Azunyan equivalent◊ this season after all, as the main website updated its character page.
So episode 1 premiered yesterday and there is an OAV out there. The OAV though is from the middle of the series so it spoils a lot of stuff that has not appeared yet in the anime.
Episode 1 spoilers below
Anyone catch the cameo from Yowamushi Pedal in the episode?
Also damn Hane and/or that bike is perverted, holy crap, totally not expected that from that character type. Actually the show is more lewd than most Moe shows now that I think about it.
