Okay, it forms the basis of a deconstruction. That's why I'm waiting for Beth and Jerry to get it over with.
It did have a surprisingly fun Theme Song, though. Not amazing, but pretty catchy.
Never underestimate the importance of an open mind and compassionate heart.I also dislike the "idiot husband/controlling wife" cliche.
the only couple nowadays that does this good to me is Beth/Jerry. Though Jerry also actually cares for his kids compared to most of the sitcom dads.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I still like Homer & Marge and Richard & Nicole since they're shown to remain sincerely loving and loyal to one another through thick and thin. Honestly, what really bothers me about this Cliché is the undercurrent of resigned misery that's been increasingly common.
In other news, "Hank's Choice" is up next for the chopping block. I always felt that the subject of Hank's Protagonist-Centered Morality would make for a great Top Ten List, since there are so many examples:
- Bobby Goes Nuts
- Business is Picking Up
- Church Hopping
- Get Your Freak Off
- Goodbye Normal Jeans
- Hank and the Great Glass Elevator
- Hank's Choice
- Husky Bobby
- Just Another Manic Khan-Day
- Pretty, Pretty Dresses
- Reborn to be Wild
- Ser-Punt
- Sleight of Hank
- The Petriot Act
- Three Coaches and Bobby
- Uh-Oh, Canada
- What Makes Bobby Run?
- Witches of East Arlen

Never underestimate the importance of an open mind and compassionate heart. He did do a Top Ten Worst Episodes of King of the Hill list, but it was over a year ago so his opinions might be different:
- 10. Church Hopping
- 9. The Petriot Act
- 8. Husky Bobby
- 7. Just Another Manic Kahn-Day
- 6. Edumacating Lucky
- 5. Now Who's The Dummy?
- 4. Goodbye Normal Jeans
- 3. Hank's Choice
- 2. What Makes Bobby Run
- 1. Bobby Goes Nuts
Lupe's Revenge and Uh Oh, Canada were excluded since he did proper reviews for those. If you want more details: http://mrenter.deviantart.com/journal/Top-10-Worst-Episodes-of-King-of-the-Hill-593325996

I'm familiar with that list, I'd just like to see it in video form and focused on Hank's worst moments.
Never underestimate the importance of an open mind and compassionate heart. The other thing about that couple is that it averts the whole Women Are Wiser trope; Beth and Jerry are both pretty awful people, and the show doesn't try to pretend that they aren't.
I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money. Also, they're FINALLY getting divorced! It's one of those rare instances where you can tell that it's more healthy for two characters to be separated then to try to fix a relationship that will never work

To the person who asked earlier, "Committed" was a Canadian production and never aired in the States, thus why most people, including myself, had never heard of it.
Wow, Canada makes a lot of bad cartoons.
On the other hand Canadian companies made Best Wars, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and Ed, Edd, n' Eddie.
you mean Beast War?
Where there's life, there's hope.Canada still makes a lot of bad shows.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Pretty much everywhere does
Canada has a law dictating a certain amount of Canadian made productions must be broadcast. Ergo, a lot of shit flash cartoons.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Pro: stable animation work.
Cons: a lot of em are crap.
Sheesh I'm not a fan of capitalism but having the government dictate the domestic cartoon supply is really ruining your industry.
Where there's life, there's hope.Canadian here. Most of them are So Okay, It's Average IMO (mediocre but harmless). There are still a lot of good ones I can name. All of Fresh TV's shows, Clone High, Detentionaire, Atomic Puppet, Toad Patrol, Ruby Gloom, Class of the Titans, Undergrads, Storm Hawks, Jimmy Two-Shoes, Spliced, Fangbone!, League of Super Evil, and several Animated Adaptations. Besides, it's not like any other country on Earth has more or less "bad cartoons" to "good cartoons" than Canada.
What I don't understand is why keep churning out new shows when you can just consistently renew certain ones to meet the quota. Most Canadian cartoons last only for one or two seasons before getting canned (granted most usually have 26-episode seasons, but still).
Also all you non-Canadians be honest with yourselves for a minute. The main reason why you think Canadian cartoons are always inferior to American cartoons is because the most famous Canadian Flash cartoon from the modern era is Johnny Test.

"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"I grew up watching a few of the shows you mentioned.
So, the next review is going to be Wayside. The entire series.
Rocket Monkeys, Stuck in the Wringer, and 12 Oz. Mouse are the next ones in this revisit series.
huh.
Seems rather overambitious, but hey, if it's gonna be a "why the books worked but this doesn't", I'm behind it 100%.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Honestly I just remember Wayside being mediocre.
It was a very boring show. Barely remember anything about it other then the cliches. I do agree that the book characters certainly sounded more interesting then what we got with that show.
Found it kind of odd how he never mentioned Luis but that could just be because he was never in the books if I recall correctly from his old review.
Louis was in the books. He was the Only Sane Man Author Avatar IIRC.
it really doesn't come off as a deconstruction at all, be it intentionally or accidentally
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
