This is the thread to use if you feel that the page image itself is good but the caption needs help.
If you think that both the image and the caption are poor, please make a thread in Image Pickin' for the page, and we'll work on the image and caption both at the same time.
As with other TRS and IP threads, please state your reasons and make your case in your first post. Don't make the other posters spend time trying to pry it out of you.

Sinkholes removed.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.UsefulNotes.Australia uses this as a caption:
"The country that kills everybody."
It references a trope (without potholing it) that now prohibits RL examples. And according to the Real Life section maintenance thread it's possible that it's a huge exaggeration, as the wildlife isn't there for the sole purpose of killing people.
Anyone got any better ideas for a caption, or should we send a Boxing Kangaroo after it?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIt needs to go, regardless of replacement.
Went ahead and axed it. Also left a comment to go here to suggest something in its place.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportYou sure you did? I'm still seeing it there.
Also noting it here that I went with Willbyr's proposed variant of my caption for The Captain. I saw at least 3 people in support of it, counting him and myself; not quite consensus, but then, I didn't update the tag to say it was.

Moon◊Could have sworn that I did... Should be gone now.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCould I get away with trimming the caption on It's the Same, Now It Sucks! to just this?
"...this new Psycho evokes the real thing in an attempt to re-create remembered passion. — ''Ebert, who rated the remake 1.5/4."
In fact, would we even need to still include the rating, or does Ebert's insistence on calling the original "real" compared to the remake already make it clear that he hated the latter?
That's such a minimal change that I don't see the need for it. I also think the rating helps convey the trope more.
Well, before I edited the caption, it began with a reference to Norman Bates masturbating in the remake; I removed it while and after writing that post because I both failed to see the point of including it here, and feared that readers who never saw Psycho wouldn't really know why an explicit masturbation scene would ruin the tone.
Do you see the point of referencing it here?

Oh, okay, I didn't know it had been cut down. Ebert phrased the comment that way because, to him, the remake was the equivalent of A Date With Rosie Palms while thinking about the original...it's meant to be metaphorical. The cut-down version loses that association.

Does that mean I should put it back?
Yeah, unless someone comes up with something better it's probably best to take it back to the original.
For the new pic on The Oldest Ones in the Book, I was thinking "Sometimes, the oldest ones are the book." Yea/nay?
I like what you're trying to go for, but something about that particular take doesn't jive with me.
Moon◊"Hey, I found [ancient trope] on this page!" Pick your favorite Oldest One.

What was the first trope page on the wiki? I know the place started out as a Buffy wiki so maybe that work page?
Gilligan Cut was the first trope page created.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I meant something more along the lines of an iconic trope found on the Older Than Dirt index. I just didn't take the time to look through it myself.
For "Join the Army," They Said, something punny about Rooting for the Empire seems appropriate.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Back to the Future needs a wittier caption.
I'd just leave it blank.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yeah, I'd just cull it altogether.
ok, removed it.
Takes One to Kill One: I don't think we ever settled on a caption for this one, but I think it would add to the clarity. Something like "Ah, the classic vampire weaknesses: sunlight, garlic, silver, and another vamp's fist through your skull".

The caption on Lens Flare has 3 Sinkholes to the works in the picture. I think we should remove them and just leave a note in their place.
