Exactly What It Says on the Tin
Feel free post your idea for game you wish someone would start or, if you're a GM type person, peruse this thread to see if there's anything that looks interesting that at least one other person has interest in too.
Sounds cool.
A magical girl RP with no roll and dice mechanics would be awesome to me. I would love to design a character like that.

Forgiveness is beyond justice, faith is superior than hope, redemption is better than perfection and love is greater than them all. There were a few of those. They all died from lack of interest if memory serves.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundAgain:
I would like someone to start a literary/theater crossover RP.
Like a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen/Anno Dracula/ Wold Newton/ Penny Dreadful sort of thing.
I shall be happy to go along with the GM's plot plans.
For duty, duty, must be done, the rule applies to everyone;Sounds interesting. Do I need a lot of knowledge of the setting in order to participate?

Let me rephrase. A Magical Girl rp that isn't based on Madoka/ a deconstruction.

Forgiveness is beyond justice, faith is superior than hope, redemption is better than perfection and love is greater than them all.You don't need to know too much about the setting to play the RP.
YOU ARE TEARING APART, LISA!! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
...Talking seriously, that's a rather good point, as the way I'll be running (or, at least, I'll be trying to run) that particular story will be rather loyal to the original series' style, so it's definitively not a conventional magical girl story by any stretch of the imagination.
...Now that I think about it, I'm not too well versed when it comes to Magical Girl stories. (Comes with my Crippling Overspecialization due to my heavy focus on Mecha anime) I know the tropes and the style, but I rarely ever watch them... The two big exceptions being Madoka, of course, and Princess Tutu... Which, by the way, it's friggin' awesome and I love it so much; once again, not really a conventional Magical Girl story, but it has its heart in the right place, while also being rather clever and genuinely moving.

"It's better to burn out... THAN TO FADE AWAY!"Anyone ?
For duty, duty, must be done, the rule applies to everyone;I think that's just not in a lot of people's genre.
It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.daltar did host 2 straight Magical Girl RPs in the past and they were popular in sign up, but people just kept on disappearing.
Both times, I went for a boy who's "Magical Boy" form was a cute animal, and he didn't like being designated mascot.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.I was talking to Electrical.

@Electrical: I actually wouldn't mind a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-esque RP, but I don't have a lot of free time to spare lately.

You are reading this.As do I, when I'm not speaking to the person directly above me.
It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.THIS IDEA! I love it, and I'd support anyone that would like to try to make it work.
Unfortunately, I can't assume the GM role for it, because of how busy I am with the Puella Magi deal. One of the things I learned this past year, (thanks to the experiences with a former colleague of mine) is that if you spread yourself into too many directions, you start abandoning stories left and right and then you never get anything done at all.
And because of how methodical and deliberate I'm when it comes to stories, even running TWO collaborative stories as a "GM" at once would mean that both of them would suffer for the lack of my complete focus.
HOWEVER, I'd love if someone would like to go for it... I could even help them as a "consigliere" of sorts; I work better as a sidekick than a leader, anyway.

"It's better to burn out... THAN TO FADE AWAY!"In addition to my Vampire RP ideas, I have some other ideas for RP's that I want you guys to give feedback on. Of all the ones I have, this one stands out the most.
The Cold War: A Game of Military Intrigue
This turn-based RP is an RPG with strategy elements and a strangely Animesque feel to it. Players can choose from a selection of factions in The Cold War, starting in 1950 and continuing until 2077. The game starts out in the same timeline as real-life history, but Alternate History scenarios can be invoked due to player actions.
Each faction starts out with a sum of in-game cash and a selection of small arms. More of this in-game cash can be earned through role-play and participation in the RP, and can be used to purchase more weapons and equipment, including small arms, artillery, tanks, vehicles, ships, and planes, as well as civilian facilities which can stabilize your country further and generate more in-game cash. This system of purchasing weapons and building your nation up is a way to encourage player activity. The game starts in The '50s and ends in 2077, but has a range of weapons and vehicles that stretch all the way from World War II era technology to the weapons of The Present Day and as the timeline advances past the 2010's and 2020's, futuristic weapons and vehicles will be added.
The factions will be divided into four categories...
- Capitalist (The United States, NATO, and their allies)
- Communist (The Soviet Union, China, The Warsaw Pact, etc.)
- Unaligned (Major nations who did not predominantly take one side over the other such as Yugoslavia, Iraq, India, South Africa, and the like)
- Terrorist and Guerilla Forces (Militant forces that still played major roles in The Cold War such as the Mujaheddin, Irish Republican Army, FARC, Japanese Red Army, PLO, the Contras, and the like)
Here's the list of factions proper for now...
- Capitalist
- United States
- Great Britain
- France
- Italy
- West Germany
- Australia
- Japan
- South Korea
- Israel
- Turkey
- Communist
- Soviet Union
- People's Republic of China
- Poland
- East Germany
- North Korea
- North Vietnam
- Romania
- Unaligned
- India
- South Africa
- Iraq
- Brazil
- Yugoslavia
- Iran
- Egypt
- Terrorist and Guerilla Forces
- Islamic Mujaheddin
- People's Front For The Liberation of Palestine
- Irish Republican Army
- Japanese Red Army
- FARC
- Contras
- Militia Movement

Sigh.
For duty, duty, must be done, the rule applies to everyone;@Paulie
- Similar to my proposed Cold War idea, except it's based on special forces.
I can see that. From what I understand, your RP is focused on Special Forces and spies, while mine is more focused on the military forces as a whole.
Maybe we can work together on this.
Yeah, mostly on the former like Silent Storm where special forces sponsored by the CIA and the KGB try to take each other out before they're forced to work together against a hostile third party.
You know, with the release of the Fate RP, Atomic Robo now has a pretty useful source for making a RP in the setting.
Am I the only one who'd like a bit of two-fisted science action?!
"You can reply to this Message!"I've never read that comic, but I'd be all in for some two-fisted action!
Here :D
"You can reply to this Message!"Anyone else think a Guantanamo Bay-inspired Tokyo Ghoul RP about a Ghoul internment camp would be cool?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial
So, as for my previously mentioned idea for an improved and streamlined Vampire The Masquerade RP, I had an idea for it to be a long term RP that spans the course of history, with the players starting out as newly embraced vampires and progress from there.
Basically, it'd be a series of RP's, each one a different "Book". We begin in the Medieval period and progress from there.
Here's the layout I have in mind. New players can create new characters in each RP, but the overall theme is that since the players are undead vampires, they can keep their character from the previous RP.
These are the Books. Listed are the title, with each location and historical era for each Book.
Essentially, in order of setting trope, the books go from The Middle Ages to Victorian London to The Roaring '20s to The '90s to 20 Minutes into the Future (with a good dose of After the End thrown in for good measure).
For Book V, the apocalypse in question isn't a major cataclysmic event but a socio-economic collapse that leaves the majority of humanity intact but severely and radically disrupts society and communications, causing an atmosphere of violent and chaotic anarchy. "The Empire Wasteland" is basically a run-down, post-apocalyptic cyberpunk New York.
Also, VTM's infamous metaplot will NOT be used at all.
