One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I suspect whoever started the Momoiro Clover Z page to either be from Japan or from somewhere else and just happens to know some Japanese.

Apparently I am a magnet for creating trope pages on works that no one else on TV Tropes has ever heard of, so my pages just sit stagnant forever. For example, Birdz, Bubble Trouble, Snood...

I have yet to see any rivalry or even subtle dislike between tropers, wich is odd due to the basic of human nature in larger groups...

Or maybe because disrupting our peaceful, utopic community is a major crime and law is enforced mercilessly to preserve that precious island

Well, I just recalled that we used to have a weekly newsletter for this site called Trope Report (thread here) It covered news for both the wiki and the fora. I used to follow when I still in the "lurker" (I had a handle at that time, I just barely used it) stage. I liked it because it provided a list of changes that were going on the wiki and the fora.

Oh yeah, I remember discovering that a while ago and never having heard of it before then.

There are certain threads in this subforum that just seem way too insular, like their own legitimate weird community within the threads themselves. I don't understand it. But even still, because of that, I notice a lot of weird, sometimes just plain "...really?" (so to speak), and sometimes outright ._. stuff that goes on in them, some stuff even that likely would never be tolerated in a normal thread.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

There are so many tropes that have Japanese names with alternate English titles, instead of the other way around.

I don't think so.

That sounds pretty bad.

Well, Nakama is now True Companions. But, yeah it was pretty bad back then.

Between 2009-2011, several tropes that originally had Japanese titles were renamed to English. Osananajimi is now Patient Childhood Love Interest, Yangire is Cute and Psycho, Kuudere became Sugar-and-Ice Personality(although the former is now a fanspeak page), Kichiku Megane became Bespectacled Bastard Boyfriend,Blue Bishonen Ghetto and Pink Bishoujo Ghetto are now Cast Full of Pretty Boys and Improbably Female Cast respectively.

I think there were more but I can't think of anything else.

But Meganekko is still Meganekko. And Castle Shikigami's work page has its Japanese name, Shikigami No Shiro despite an official English name existing.

I should fix that already.

And did we really have a page called Osananajimini? That is the worst.

[up] If a work has a Japanese title(or any foreign language title for that matter) and it has an official English title, you are free to (and encouraged) move it to the English title.

And yes, Patient Childhood Love Interest used to be Osananajimi(here is the thread where the name change occured).

Trope pages aren't the same case because they don't have a pre-determined title like works. Also, Japanese trope names were a really fiery tinderbox back in 2011.

My most constant observation here is that nobody, repeat, nobody, seems aware of the fact that the past tense of to lead is led, not lead. I see it on literally every third page.

Oddly enough, that whole "debate" happened almost completely under my nose until they made that announcement about it.

We really need to use that announcement feature more often. Someone needs to be appointed to update that and keep it updated on a semi-regular basis in order to let people know about stuff going on.

The most popular threads in the Live Action Film section are about superheros/comic-based movies.

As someone who is not interested in those kinds of movies and who has applied to become a herald of that sub-forum, I feel it's an obstacle to what I would like to become. I dunno, it's just a small concern.
