A town was just ravaged by a very unusual natural disaster. The only people who had even heard of something like this before were the oldest members, and even they didn't have all the answers. But the storm has finally calmed, and it's deemed safe to go back outside again. The townspeople are astonished by what they see. The entire place is covered in an ethereal glow, and there are strange runes written all over the ruble. Unfamiliar but beautiful plants have sprouted all over the place. Although they are left with more questions than answers, something about the scene makes the townspeople no longer afraid. It's just so strangely beautiful that it puts them at ease.

A timeless era, a vaguely convention/flea market/entertainment festival-style event. Our protagonist is walking along, minding his own business when a music box is suddenly activated. Only, this is no ordinary music box; it's got a film projector inside that gives a silent movie-style film regarding a ballerina in the circus. From her promising student performances, to her beautiful heyday, to her fall from grace into addiction, to her seamless recovery, ending on her retirement to a sold-out crowd made of both circus lovers and ballet enthusiasts. The protagonist, intrigued by this, asks the booth owner how it could do that. The owner simply replies "Five quid and I'll show ya."

Gong - Master Builder.

An astronaut has been stranded in space. An asteroid struck his spacecraft, disrupting his communication with the base. It's all up to him to fix the extensive damage done to the spacecraft so he can contact Earth again and continue his mission. He tries putting on some jazz music in an attempt to calm his nerves, but the somewhat frantic sound of the music only makes him more nervous.

After making their finally adjustments, their new creature emerges. A peculiar things resembling a spider, or maybe a moth. The scientist watches intently as the creature walks across the lab bench, and then takes flight and flies around the room. The scientist's face is eerily expressionless.

In a fantasy story, the hero has just begun his journey. Previously, he had lived his entire life in a small, quiet town, with little idea of what the world outside the town was like. But now, he has been called upon to fight the forces of evil. As much as he loves his home, he is very excited to journey out into the open and finally see the world. This song plays as he exits the town's boundaries and admires the wide open space that he is about to traverse.

Robotnik's theme - Genesis Boss Remix

The theme that plays in the final stage of a retraux platformer. The game has been somewhat lighthearted up to this point, but now things are serious, with the world on the verge of being destroyed by the villain's space laser. There are traces of hope in the theme, as if to spurn the player on to overcome the enemy and save the world.

A small caravan makes its way across a rocky desert, intent on some unknown destination. By day carts are dragged by horses while the local wildlife scurries across the ground. No other travelers are seen, but there is danger nonetheless as vultures fly overhead. As night falls, the caravan sets up camp and creates a protective ring of carts around the travelers. While no humans are seen, nonetheless the sounds of a guitar and flute echo throughout the plains.

It's just past sunset, so the lights from cars illuminate them as they drive past. They look at the busy road below them, and come to terms with just how much they've changed during their journey. But at the same time they realize that some things will never change, like how they'll always be friends and they'll always have this place to return to.

The character runs through an easy course, gets thousands of coins, and defeats all enemies effortlessly. The purpose of this level is to lull the player into a false sense of security. They get more and more confident and have their character run faster and faster and get careless. But then the music stops...

Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin

There is a secluded rock garden, hidden away in the base of some mountain. It's an idyllic place, with birds and various other wildlife frolicking about, the lyrical sound of flowing water features and the cries of the animals being all that breaks otherwise complete silence. We see things from the viewpoints of various creatures throughout the piece - the birds flying freely, insects moving about in the undergrowth, foxes on the lookout for prey... and then a mountain wolf, which having wandered into the garden from outside, is far above every other animal on the food chain.
