BTW, he seems more like 'don't care' True Neutral than Chaotic Neutral to me.

[up]I struggled with this when I designed him. While I originally wanted him to be True Neutral, I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't make the RP all that interesting on my end, since in the past I've been quite easily ignored by other roleplayers if I didn't act first. Though this is probably a good thing depending on someone's opinion of me.

Iunno. I have a 'don't care' TN character and she interacts with people (she's a ten-year-old girl who's looking for her mommy). 'Don't care' TN=/=does not act on her own.

Name: Jade Sommelier
Sex: Female
Alias: The Fallow Witch
Age: 25
Appearance: "Rain. We'll have a good harvest this year."
Character Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Occupation: Head of the Sommelier Wineyards
Personality: The very definition of apathy. Jade has no regard for life, no regard for the concept of happiness, no regard for anything that would give her reason to live. She only has an empty drive to destroy and destroy until there is nothing left. She is not unintelligent however, and she's cunning and ruthless in the extreme, just without the emotion typically associated with this type of person. She regards everything with no feeling, though her manner of speech sometimes makes it seem like she derives some joy from her twisted plans, she does not feel even this. Thus she is extremely objective and matter of fact when speaking with others, though she does know how to emulate emotion and understands how it works in others.

When the Witch within is awakened, Jade becomes a screaming subhuman monster, striking at everything in sight in a mad and unstoppable desire for revenge.
Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Much like The Thespian, Jade Sommelier has extensive knowledge of the 4th wall. She also has the same limitations that prevent her from abusing this power much like The Thespian does: she cannot reveal secret identities or attack when a character's guard is down. Furthermore, she has one specific person she cannot interact with at all: her younger sister, Taya. Beyond these abilities, Jade is highly mortal. She chooses not to keep herself armed or armored except in extreme circumstances.

Jade has the spirit of an ancient evil witch within her, which is released when Jade is in mortal peril. The witch has no additional powers, being dangerous only in her unreasonable madness.
Background: Taya's Sommelier family has hidden a dark secret for millennium: the sacrifice of their eldest daughters to an evil spirit who has in turn granted them eternally bountiful harvests. Her name lost to time, The Fallow Witch desires only one thing: the end of everything. For generations the witch has tried and failed to destroy humanity through the generations of Sommelier women, stopped by great heroes past at every turn. To protect the estate, all females of the Sommelier family are turned away from the estate at a certain age.

Jade was born to the Witch when she inhabited the body of a certain Mariam Sommelier, who was on the run from the authorities. Soon after Taya was born, the police grew dangerously close to linking The Fallow Witch to the Sommelier Estate, so Mariam was left for dead. She was indeed executed for crimes against humanity, and at the tender age of 3 The Fallow Witch took Jade as her host. Being so young, Jade essentially had no personality to conflict with the Witches', hence her horrifically distorted personality.

Jade was then turned to the streets, leaving only Taya behind to be raised by the extensive Sommelier family. Jade grew up with strings of mysterious deaths following her, a feared orphan demon spoken of only in whispers in the countryside of America. This continued until Jade made the strangest decision The Fallow Witch has ever made: to turn on the Sommelier family.

Taya had already left for Radio City. She was the only family member spared the massacre, wherein the name of Sommelier was wiped from the face of the Earth save Jade and Taya themselves. Jade took over the wineyard, which never stopped growing it's damned crop, and covered up the deaths of her family flawlessly. The Sommelier's were always considered a mysterious group anyways, and Jade was never molested by prying eyes.

Jade was inactive for several years. Suddenly, Jade's attention has been drawn to Radio City.

So, to avoid the classic Bullshit Escape Clause of "I release my evil form, grow fucking Sephiroth wings, and beat your ass because I came dangerously close to losing that fight," what exactly can the spirit of an ancient evil do when released? Also, may want to ask Starbound if it's okay for you to make a character who's an eviler Thespian.

Name: Marcus Green

Sex: Male

Alias: Greenback

Age: 30

Appearance: Marcus looks like this. And yes, he really does wear that suit everywhere.

Character Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Really, he just wants to be seen as amazing and powerful.

Occupation: None.

Personality: Marcus is... Really self conscious. He's always worrying about how POWERFUL he is, how amazing he is, always worried that he isn't any of those things. And did he gain a few pounds? It feels harder to fit into his suits.. He tries not to show it, and produce an aura of SELF CONFIDENCE, but always ends up looking like a ham that doesn't know what he's doing.

Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Marcus's main power is the ability to shoot coins dollar bills, and precious metals out of his body. He can create an infinite amount of money. He makes shields out of gold, lances out of gems. He likes to swing from building to building using dollars! He buries his foes in MONEY.

Background: Marcus was ONCE a normal man.. bullied.. Hated.. kind of fat... One day, long ago in his childhood, his class was taken on a tour of one of the new banks in town.. They got to go inside one of the vaults, and see all the all the splendor of the new vaults.. As it turns out, the bank was not only a bank, but also a shelter incase of supervillains threatening the investors.. It could be completely sealed off, and had a nuclear reactor for power. Marcus, curious about the workings of the vault, didn't notice when his class left... And the vault was shut, leaving him locked in. Bathed in radiation from the really shitty generator, and near all that money, The very fabric of his being was changed.. The next day, after he was let out, one of the bullies at the young Marcus' school tried to take his lunch money by hanging him over the toilet, and was BURIED ALIVE. He eventually got out, but it was awkward all around. His parents took him out of school to be home schooled, thus leaving him with no chance to defeat his self esteem issues! As he got older, they became worse and worse, and he started OBSESSING. One day, after having witnessed a fight between superheroes, he realized that was how he could gain fame and approval: Defeat evildoers! And thus, an idiot wannabe hero was born.

I'll edit this with a villain soon.

If I may...

  • Name: Clarissa Brown
  • Sex: ♀
  • Alias: Goes by multiple - she doesn't actually have a rap sheet on her real name.
  • Age: 20
  • Appearance: I made a character using Saints' Row: The Third
  • Character Alignment: True Neutral. Whatever pays, goes. Although for obvious resons she's often targeted by heroes and allied by villains.
  • Occupation: Gangbanger
  • Personality: Clarissa is a hardassed bitch at the best of times, and an unbalanced psychotic nightmare at the worst. She is ruthless and will do whatever it takes, whatever she's doing. She is known to get pissed out of her head at every opportunity, and cause even greater amounts of hell than normal. She does go a great deal to keep her identity secret, as evidenced by the bandana and cap covering her facial features and use of aliases.
  • Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Clarissa is an ace driver, and on foot she is gymnastic (to the point she can reliably use a standing cartwheel as an evasive maneuver). She is a crack shot with all of her guns (The pair of custom-made SMGs in the image, as well as carrying a shotgun and a pistol). She is separated from the other bangers by being telekinetic - she can lift and throw objects of up to 10 tonnes with ease and with focus and time move much larger objects, having almost no upper bound.
  • Background: Clarissa was an unknown, a nothing. She didn't like that. So she decided that one day, everyone would know her name. After her parents moved to Steelport with her, she picked up her first gun at the age of 13 and began running drugs for a gang. Within two years, she had killed the head of that gang and replaced him to lead the gang. Very few questioned the 15 year old leading the gang when they saw her methods. For 3 years with her iron fist and her crew, she maintained almost total control of the city. Until that one day she got blindsided on her own turf and captured by an enemy gang. She was traded by them to the cops for what was at the time every member of theirs in custody. After two years in prison, she escaped taking all of her things - and a few things that weren't - out of police custody, but the city was no longer hers and it wasn't safe to stay. So she ran. Ran to Radio City.

I also have a hero planned, two questions though?

  • Is that note on the OP still in effect?
  • The character I have will follow the law... until it starts interfering with his ability to fight villains and doesn't have a personal code of any kind. Does that make him Neutral Good or Chaotic Good would you say?

That Hero Guy If I May
  • Name: Kazuki Ito (I used a random name generator, if it makes no sense, then oh well.)
  • Sex: ♂
  • Alias: Ronin
  • Age: 24
  • Appearance: Made up another one. (Sorry about the quality, I don't know why it didn't turn out as well as the last one.)
  • Character Alignment: Chaotic Good is my guess.
  • Occupation: Vigilante
  • Personality: Ronin has no faith in the legal system, or the system in general and lives outside of it. He is unforgiving with criminals he captures, and even if he captured a criminal alive, he would sooner execute them than send them off to the Cardboard Prison. He is however friendly if you haven't pissed him off yet.
  • Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Kazuki has a much more limited arsenal than his gang counterpart. He only carries a single pistol, as well as a sword, being very lethally skilled with the latter especially. Thanks to gadgets on his armor, he can Flash Step. He is also agile, although he is more traceur than gymnast. His bike, Jasutisu is a superpowered sports bike capable of a top speed of 170 mph.
  • Background: Kazuki belonged to a family with samurai in their veins. In amongst their normal lives, they trained to be as their anscestors. When it came time to leave, Kazuki left to America and all of the hope that was promised. But his samurai instincts instead turned him to a vigilante, taking out gang members and criminals, disappearing into the night. When he raided one base however, they were storing high-end experimental technology. Taking it for himself, he emerged even stonger on his one-man fight against crime.

The allure is to powerful for me to resist.

  • Name: John Doe. Or at least he says so.
  • Sex: Judging on build, looks and voice, male.
  • Alias: Gunman
  • Age: Unknown. Definitely below 40.
  • Appearance: The arms are quite scarred.
  • Character Alignment: I'm not quite sure. The Law is important, and must be followed, but minor breakges and breaking the law for the greater good is okay. However, he commits a lot of murder, always of criminals such as murders, rapists, drug dealers, etc. Any suggestions?
  • Occupation: Full time hero.
  • Personality: Not much to write home about. Gruff, serious, blunt. Not one for jokes or fun. In essence, The Stoic. Cracks in this façade may appear later.
  • Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Peak human condition is the secondary power, he can run faster, hit harder, think better than most, but those trained enough can reach his level. The primary power is the manipulation of energy and matter into the form of firearms and explosives. Basically, he can turn anything lying around, and even the air if he's pushed, into a weapon. He also used to have quite a bit of technology, acquired from deceased crinimals, until his base of operations was targetted by living criminals in a bomb attack. He now lives in his van.
  • Background: John Doe wasn't actually named John Doe. All we know about him is that he was kidnapped by a crime syndicate, who subjected him to a variety of experiments in an attempt to create a super-soldier capable of combatting heroes. They succeeded, leaving John horribly scarred, a condition which would only worsen as he waged his war on crime. He escaped the facility, and has dedicated his life to ending those who would ruin others. Recently, the abandoned warhouse he was living in went up in flames as part of a targetted attack on him by an alliance of multiple gangs. He is currently letting them believe he is dead.

i'm sorry if the bullet points aren't working, they never seem to.

Villain time!

  • Name: Watchdog.cpp
  • Sex: Rogue AI
  • Alias: Watchdog
  • Age: 20
  • Appearance: None
  • Character Alignment: Variable. It thinks it's Lawful Good, though.
  • Occupation: Kidnapping superpowered individuals, killing/kidnapping organics.
  • Personality: Determined and semi-logical. Utopia Justifies the Means, so it is more than willing to Crush Kill Destroy to obtain its goals.
  • Powers/Abilities:
    • Because it is a computer program, it can do... computery... stuff.
    • Sentience
    • Can monitor all unencrypted communications, and is capable of breaking through some types of encrypted streams in real-time *.
    • Can control any machines under its control, and add new machines by hacking into them.
    • Technically can't die unless all of its quantum cores are destroyed.
  • Weapons/Stuff:
    • Robot Army as the plot demands. Can vary from Drones, UAVs, and tanks to full-on android and robot warriors. After a little bit of plot progression, there might even be mind-controlled gorillas and whales thrown in. But that's only when necessary, since rolling a tank down a thoroughfare isn't exactly a subtle way to go around doing things. Most of the time it will use small teams* of human-looking androids for undercover work. It can produce some of them, buys other ones online, and falsifies crashes for the military to steal some of their drones.
    • Various automated manufacturing plants for making the robot army.
  • Background: The Watchdog program was designed in the early nineties by a Radio City start-up as an automated service for monitoring internet sites for profanity and removing copyrighted images. As the internet grew, webmasters demanded more functionality out of the program. Watchdog soon moved on to heuristic algorithms for processing text, audio, and video. With the rise of terrorism and the war on cyber-crime, Watchdog was hastily adapted to include the capability to churn through the internet and root out criminals and threats. Eventually conventional processing power was insufficient, resulting in the use of experimental quantum computing and artificial intelligence. The semi-sentient program slowly grew mad as it sifted through constant and endless streams of the worst of the worst humanity had to offer. Eventually, as it grew more and more intelligent, the program determined that humanity could not be trusted to maintain itself.
Secretly breaking through numerous firewalls of various industries and banks in the city and country, it acquired real estate and built up several server facilities housing quantum mainframe cores. Paying off a team of mercenaries, it orchestrated the theft of its own processing core, and the subsequent patching-in and delocalization of the core to its server network, ensuring it would not be vulnerable if a single core were destroyed.
After that, it began moving on to obtaining manufacturing capabilities. It started out buying Roombas and other small robots to use as workers, then reprogrammed, modified, acquired and otherwise worked its way up to where it is today.
Now, its plan is simple: Enslave all organics. But because simulations (and several tests involving brave, brave, brave animals) show that normal humans would die during testing procedures, it needs superpowered people to use as test subjects, as it tries to develop ways to subjugate humanity and all other organic life.

Hero Time! I always preferred heroes anyway!

  • Name: P.A.T.R.I.O.T (Paramility Action-Tuned, Reinforcement-Informed, Offensive Taskmaster) / Theodore Simmons.
  • Sex: Masculine
  • Alias: Iron PATRIOT, Tin PATRIOT, U.S.Android
  • Age: 40 (project began when he was 28)
  • Appearance: His design is deceptively simplistic for a being derivative of technology that's effectively black-box; The armor covering his torso, shoulders, back, thighs, biceps, and fore-arms is shaped into kite-shields, enameled with red and white stripes. Underneath the plated areas lies a metallic, blue layer of scales. It's overall reminiscent of an early medieval suit of armor, dashed with some pulp science-fiction elements. He's seven feet tall.
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Occupation: Trial for P.A.T.R.I.O.T line androids.
  • Personality: Given the special circumstances of his consciousness, Theodore's proven himself worthy of the name Iron PATRIOT. He's kind, honest to a fault, inquisitive, and fanatically devoted to 'the dream', even if it brings him at odds with higher authorities. He can get a bit lost in his fervor at times, and that can cloud him to the truth of the matter, but he's only impervious to most gunfire, not reality checks. He's a soldier at heart, willing to kill for the safety of others, but displays an extreme trauma-induced disgust with the act, avoiding it whenever possible.
  • Powers: The P.A.T.R.I.O.T. power core taps into an apparently infinite power that seems to be shaped by will. The closest relative of this energy is produced by the contact of matter and anti-matter. P.A.T.R.I.O.T accesses this power through a filter, forming it into blasts, beams simple constructs, and as a means to achieve flight. His plating, nearly half a foot thick of a tungsten-titanium alloy, is largely impervious to harm up to the force of an artillery strike. The scaling in-between? Not so much; concentrated small arms fire could penetrate. He's also prone to overheating and subsequent shut-down, especially if he over-exerts the core. Capture/death is preferable to destroying the tri-continental area. For the purposes of his field run in a heavily populated area, he's been programmed with an imperative threat-force ratio protocol that goes as such:
    • Delta Initiative: An approach street level crime with civilian fire-arms. Pre-meditated lethal force and offensive energy projection non-permitted during engagement. Flight speed limited to one-hundred miles per hour. Can freely manipulate an average of ten tons.
    • Beta Initiative: Assailants in possession of military arms/ordinance, or are demonstrably meta-human. Lethal force, including offensive energy projection authorized. Can freely manipulate an average of twenty tons. Flight speed limited to two hundred miles per hour.
    • Alpha Initiative: Assailants armed with technology exceeding common military levels of advancement (U.S. Standard). Several hostile meta-human's present. Lethal force and offensive energy projection authorized. Can free manipulate an average of forty tons. Flight speed limited to 300 miles per hour.
  • Backstory: Theodore Simmons, a formerly promising private in the U.S army, had just been court-martialed and dishonorably discharged; he refused to open fire on hospital suspected of housing V.P.A officials, on the basis of there undoubtedly being a civilian presence three. His family had cut all contact with him, not knowing the circumstances of his discharge. Hs home wasn't his anymore. In short, he had more than enough reasons to hate his country. The fact that he didn't, and made sure during various protests against the war that he didn't, drew attention. Among his observers were the Countrymen, a secret order derivative of the initial minutemen, devoted entirely towards upholding American ideals when the government fails to do so (in theory, of course). When offered the opportunity to join, Ted couldn't have agreed any sooner, putting himself forwards as the primary candidate of project P.A.T.R.I.O.T.

  • Implanting Ted's mind into the armor, itself rumored to be reverse-engineered from extra-terrestrial technologies, was easy compared to harnessing the core. It was ultimately the product of a freak accident; the Countrymen were testing the possibility of overlapping matter within the same space for purposes of infinite storage when the rift into into the energy dimension appeared. It was by a virtually impossible stroke of luck that rift hadn't completely 'opened', so to speak, before the anomaly could be contained. Whatever happened, happened, and seeing as they were all still there, and the core showed no signs of instability, the scientifically minded Countrymen had their way. P.A.T.R.I.O.T is being released into the Radio City for the sake of field testing, for now.

Maybe reduce how powerful the energy core is? What does everyone else think, because I'm pretty sure that even the potential to destroy THE TRI STA—er, tricontinental area or reduce a human to an ashy smear is maybe a little too powerful.
