Guess the grenade did work then
Oh really when?I hear the ondo flavored Hellsing Humor theme playing in the background.
There's something insignificant written here, but because it's insignificant, you didn't read it.This movie isn't sitting well with me. Something's off. Like its gonna get real bloody and real fucked up real fast.

Oh really when?Yes, it will get quite fucked up all too soon. Maybe you have psychic powers.
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon. You know, people go on about Attack on Titan and these new shows being dark and bloody but damn it has nothing on the older stuff does it?
Oh really when? And now you see why I didn't want to watch Akira.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.Fastest. Military Coup. Ever.
"You look like a damn crackhead!" Best line of the movie.

RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon. This movie is something.
I like it but I can't think of any words about it at the moment.
Oh really when? You know the proverbial excrement has hit the bladed cooling apparatus when the cute girl gets unceremoniously killed.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefI don't understand what exactly just happened but I really liked that movie.
Oh really when?Damn fine movie, but I like the manga slightly more.
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon.AKIRA has to have one of the crowning uses of the Body Horror trope ever. Few things come close to it for me in terms of sheer horror, except for maybe Silent Hill 3...
Sometimes, I do think that anime back then were Darker and Edgier and Bloodier and Gorier. I got into anime when stuff like that was more prevalent with English-language distributors, which is why I appreciate anime like Deadman Wonderland, Black Lagoon, and Hellsing for giving anime its balls back.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyMan, even when Vegeta isn't moping around is he being a selfish brat.
In other words, he's being Vegeta. Always satisfying when that ego of his can get pounded into tiny bits. He practically had an extended Bring My Brown Pants moment, which I'm sure the Abridged Series will have a field day with.
Also watched Akira for the first time. I dunno how a) I was able to stay up that long (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya's got nothing on this flick), and b) I didn't get any nightmares afterwards, cause that was kinda scary (in an awesome way though).

I think someone once described Akira as not being a movie, but an experience.
Honest question guys: Who here besides me tries to make it the full six and a half hours?
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon. When the block is right, and I don't work Sunday, I try.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.I'm out by 2:30 or 3:00 am. Sometimes I'll stay up until 3:30 am if I really want to finish something in its entirety.
There's something insignificant written here, but because it's insignificant, you didn't read it.Since I'm an 8-5 Drone, I'm lucky if I actually make it past midnight now.
I try to call it a night by 2:30 or 3am at the latest, but there's been plenty of days where I'm still on my computer until the block ends... which defeats the purpose of me going to bed early and leaves me sleepy come noon on Sunday.
@ Garcon: I second Lionheart's statement.
@ Beary: "TETSUO!" "KANEDAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Yeah, that scene is definitely not for the faint of heart. Or children. Or first-time anime watchers.
I don't mind the darker, more mature anime series myself (within reason, of course), and while I'm glad for all of those shows airing on the block, there's nothing wrong with the lighter fare. (Remember when Hamtaro used to air on Toonami? I watched the hell out of that show and I am ashamed of nothing. And G Gundam was so over the top, it was amazing. Top 5 Gundam material for sure.) I think we can all agree that Toonami works best when its offerings are somewhat eclectic.
@ Hikari: Well, yes, that's Vegeta for you. Still, that defeatist attitude of his is so strange considering that in every other battle where he's clearly outmatched (Frieza, Android 18, Perfect Cell, Kid Buu, etc.), Vegeta still dives in head-first because of his ego and arrogance. I bet that Ghost Nappa could snap him out of it, though.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI don't think I'll be sticking around for both Rebuild movies, as much as I enjoyed them. I could probably afford to actually call it a night when I say I'm going to instead of inexplicably staying up until 5 or 6 am for no good reason.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI've never actually seen any of the Rebuild movies so this'll be fun. I never actually finished the series either but I know how it ends.
Oh really when? And by "end", we mean the studio ran out of ink.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadStaying for the first one. Let's see if I can get this recording doo-hicky to work on the second one.

G'night, everyone who's going to sleep now. May your dreams have a better plot than the DBZ movie we just witnessed.
I haven't watched anything Evangelion before, so I'll be going into those two movies blind. I do know that involves a troubled protagonist, robots, a Gaianax ending, and lots of congratulations. I think...
