This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

When wicks are removed, it looked more like a garbled mess than a philosophy, so nixed the whole thing. Here's what it would look like minus wicks:
The quote on Die or Fly has nothing to do with the trope itself (since last I checked, MythBusters does not feature actual superpowers). Trope namer or not, it's not illustrative.
My suggestion would be the following quote from El Goonish Shive.
"With each spell cast, a chance for new power. Spells that reflect who you are...what motivates you...and the sacrifices you have made. You are willing to die for her. If you weren't...you would never have earned this spell." -Pandora

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I like it. Should the last line be included? "Try not to die too quickly."
I Am the Noun is not only just repeating the trope name, it's repeating the trope image. Nearly any alternative would work, but I think even no quote would be better.

On Die or Fly: I'm kind of torn on that, honestly, but it might be better for completeness.
On I Am the Noun: I think the real problem is just a straight variation of the quote name ("I am X!") without surrounding context is...well, weak. A quote featuring the conversation that led to the I Am the Noun statement would be a huge improvement.
With that in mind, I'd say fall back on everyone's favorite bat. (Or more specifically, his 90s cartoon version)
Thomas Wayne (hallucination): You are a disgrace!
Batman: No...no! You are not my father. I am not a disgrace! I am vengeance, I am the night! I am Batman!

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)
Of course, I'm partial to all things Batman.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettSeverely Specialized Store had a decent quote, but the image is from the same work and is without a caption. Any objections to converting it into a caption?
Not sure on a replacement.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThere's only one in the Quotes page, but it's a goody. I think that should work fine if the old one is converted to a caption.
That will work great.
The image will need to be linked to the work, though.
Image was already linked to the proper work.
Anyways, deed is done. Is the new quote a bit long?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportYeah, it's a little overly long, I'd say. Not sure how it could be trimmed,
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I cut out the first two lines, they're not strictly necessary to get the point of the quote. It could probably be trimmed some more if we're willing to abuse ellipses, but this is at least a little better.
Page quote for the Scrappy Index Is Non-Indicative. It doesn't show the trope in action, it doesn't talk about the trope, and it relies entirely too much on the audience's familiarity with a meme.
It's a really bad quote.
Should we remove it?
Yes. Pull it.
I was about to add a quote to Absolute Xenophobe to mirror the one I just added to The Xenophile, but when I went to edit the page I noticed there was a notice that seemed to say no one should add anything without running it by y'all first:
The quote in question I was thinking of adding:
Any objections, suggestions, other feedback?
EDIT: On further reflection, the Fanatic Xenophobe ethos blurb probably has a little more "punch":

The Absolute Xenophobe editor note refers to the image caption, not the page quote (or lack thereof). It's not a bad thing running your ideas by this thread, but it's not absolutely required.
With that said...what exactly are these Xenophile Ethos and Xenophobe Ethos things? Are they a work? A document within a work? I'm leery of them without the sources of the quotes being clear.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Apparentlyy paths you can take in the Stellaris video game. Both quotes are on the work page.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettOkay, but the quote source is written backwards. It should be "Character name/quote source, work name", instead of the way you have it.
I already corrected the quote on The Xenophile.Try to keep this in mind for the future.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I don't see how the quote on Brought Down to Badass has anything to do with the trope. I'm sure it makes sense in context, but without context it doesn't work. How's this for a replacement?
Ray: And without your amulet, you're—
Amaya: A fifth-degree black belt.
Ray: ...oh.
I'll keep note of that. I thought I was doing it right, but apparently the page I was using as my "template" had it backwards, too.
And Candi is essentially correct; in addition to a small selection of predefined species that may appear, the game randomly generates empires whose behavior is defined by a combination of their government's ethos and the primary species's traits.

That's much better
The main for the Scrappy-Page, I believe, needs some attention. Because, it doesn't explain the trope, it only tells us that the speaker hates Scrappy. Yes, he is the trope namer, but that still doesn't say much IMO. I guarantee that if you looked hard enough, you could find any single random person making a similar rant about any variety of characters, but does that make them all Scrappies? No.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
The Pot Holes have to go, it's against policy to include links not in the original quote. In terms of the quote itself, I'm not sure it includes the philosophy requirement of the trope.
