This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

None of the lines on the /Quotes page are much better. Still looking for a good one.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It probably shoudn't even have a quote page because it's an index.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? That's something I agree with.
(Annoyed grunt)When was that ever even a guideline? It's certainly not a rule.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The Dreaded quote has been changed recently. Honestly, I'm surprised it lasted this long without changing every week. Anyway, here's the original quote:
- "Keaton always said, 'I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of Him.' Well, I do believe in God... and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Söze."
- — Verbal Kint, The Usual Suspects
This was changed to:
- The Heavy: I fear no man!... But, that thing... It scares me.
- The Scout: No, I-I ain't talkin' about that freak, alright?... He's not here, is he!? How do I get this f**king thing off!?
- The Spy: One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask. What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty.
- — A description of The Pyro, by his own teammates, Team Fortress 2: Meet The Pyro
Which was changed to:
- "One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask. What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty."
- — The Spy (describing his own teammate Pyro), Team Fortress 2, "Meet The Pyro"
I'm not overly fond of any of them, but I think I prefer the first one. But there are a lot of good ones on the quotes page. The Batman ones are cool, but work better for Terror Hero. My choice would either be this:
- "There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior. A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world."
- —The Doctor, Doctor Who, "The Pandorica Opens"
But since he was unknowingly describing himself, I'm worried some idiot might add a nattery "he was actually describing himself" labelnote. So there's also this, which is on the sillier side:
- Reed: It turns out they speak trinary code. So I said to them, "I am Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, and I..."
- Sue: Go on...
- Reed: Actually, that's as far as I got. It was enough to send them running.

First one is best. Short, sweet, and to the point.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Seconded.
Documentary of Lies and Based on a Great Big Lie have pretty much the same quote. Although the former is getting cut, so yeah.

Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Came across Commercial Pop-Up via an Ask The Tropers wick. The quote not only has potholes in it, but doesn't really say anything about the trope. Nothing in the examples section really jumps out at me as a replacement, and there is no Quotes tab.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI'm thinking we can pull that one. Hard to find a good quote for that page.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI pulled it. Not sure any discussion is ever needed to pull one that is just not apt.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong. — H.L. MenckenCreepy Basement has two quotes. Both seem legit.
Metroidvania's quote is just another Zero Punctuation quip that says nothing about the trope's content.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Creepy Basement: Not that big a fan of Whedon, but the second quote is a little more clearly illustrative of the "creepy" part of the trope name. Just "there's somethin' down there" doesn't necessarily mean the "something" is creepy.
Metroidvania: At a glance nothing on the page really jumps out for a page quote, and the one that's there isn't, as noted, all that useful, never mind the pothole that's not supposed to be in page topper quotes. I'd say zap the current one and leave blank.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpDude Looks Like a Lady has a quote that doesn't really make any sense. Some of the entries in the quote page could serve the page better, and I particularly like the one from Baka And Test Summon The Beasts.
Thoughts?
Yeah, that B&T quote works better, and the current one is in no way illustrative of the trope.
(If anything, the current one arguably would better fit Stupid Sexy Flanders. )
[edit] And speaking of SSF, while the Trope Namer I don't know if that trope's current quote is all that useful for illustrating the trope, especially if the potholes are stripped out.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpJabberjaw has two page quotes, so one of them has to be nixed. How about we keep the first and nix the second?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSounds like a plan.
(Annoyed grunt)I wonder if adding some further context would improve the pulled Commercial Pop-Up quote?
"Recently, I achieved my lifelong ambition: I appeared on Doctor Who. Yes, I secured the prestigious role of 'Man Ruining the End of the Episode'. If you didn't see it, the BBC ran a trail with a little animated version of me over the end of Doctor Who. Five thousand people called in [to complain]."

Do you guys think I should delete the Mel Brooks quote in Spaceballs?
Works better with context, yes.

I wouldn't object to just cutting the SB quote, as it doesn't illustrate the film all that much.
As for the Commercial Pop-Up quote, yes with context it's much more appropriate as a page quote. With the full quote I'd be fine with putting it back up on the page (though remaining quoteless won't leave me heartbroken either, admittedly).
All your safe space are belong to Trump@3942: I agree about the SSF quote not making much sense without knowing about the context, but I'm not sure if that previous quote from DLLAL (which, incidentally is already listed in the Quotes.Stupid Sexy Flanders page) works that much better.

^ I did say "arguably".
It wasn't all that super-serious a suggestion, in any case. I don't really have any suggestions for Stupid Sexy Flanders. Nothing on the quotes tab stands out to me, and I'm too lazy to dig through the examples.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpMust Make Her Laugh has two quote. Can't decide.
I've pulled the quote on For Massive Damage.
