How do you feel about the major Kids Networks

I would like to know how you feel about the major Kids networks.

Nick:I hate how the play nothing but Spongebob and their Tween Sitcoms like I Carly and the like. But I must praise them for wanting to deviate from this mold by acquiring more Edgy and Action Oriented shows like Dragon Ball Z Kai and Power Rangers. Also they are making quite an effort to push animation to the forefront these days.

CN:HATE HATE HATE KILL IT WITH FIRE.Its not their mismanagement and cancellation of great shows like One Piece and Sym Bionic Titan. Its not the fact that nowadays they exhibit some of the worst traits of Merchandise Driven Programing. Its all that but even that pales in comparison to their worst crime:Betraying what made them unique and appealing to the masses: Being the home and mecca of animation.

Disney Channel:It may surprise you but Im mostly meh about this one, at least where I live they show good Disney/Pixar Movies and good their ONE good show:Phineas and Ferb.

Disney XD:This one enrages me, even more so than CN. This channel held so much promise, at least to me. I thought it might have been a good home for shows for people who didnt want to watch Hannah Montana-esque comedies all day. What we got was Disney sitcoms of an EVEN lower quality but 4 BOYZ!

The Hub: Now THIS ONE is MUCH better. Home of Internet Darling My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, this channel truly is "Where everything comes together". Making a point out of appealing to both Children AND their families, it is very much Periphery Demographic friendly! Also, I applaud that while it IS owned by a Toy Company, it strangely is not that reliant on said formula than say CN. (Cancelling Original Productions just for not having a Toy Deal) Granted, it doesnt have many good shows right now, but I think that if given time we can expect awesome things out of it!

Nick: Meh. Nicktoons is slightly better, if only for the fact that it doesn't air constant streams of franchise zombies and corporate-made band shows.

CN: Only good on Mondays and Fridays. CN Real was shit from the start. The Problem Solverz is the network's nadir. The canceling of Toonami also sucked, especially since two of its highest-selling animes were bought out by other networks. I mean, what's next? One Piece on The Hub? *

Also, I dislike how Adult Swim gained one extra hour from CN, only to put King Of The Hill reruns. I was okay with the show, but now I just want it to be replaced with Superjail or something.

Disney: Phineas And Ferb is the only good show here so far. XD is slightly better, but it still relies on bad preteen shows. And they bought Naruto just to air it at night because they couldn't comprehend the violence.

The Hub: MLP, Prime, GI Joe, and a bunch of other awesome stuff. AWW YEAH

Nick: I hate this channel. I can hardly stomach Sponge Bob these days, and I can't stand any of its other shows besides Penguins of Madagascar. I like Nicktoons, if only for Avatar reruns and more Penguins, but I hate Nick.

CN: In truth, I only watch Friday nights, Saturday mornings, and whenever KND is on. It's probably my favorite of the kids networks, even if it does do stupid stuff.

Disney: Ecch. I hate Disney. I'm not a fan of Phineas and Ferb, and it almost physically hurts me to watch anything else here. I will never forgive Disney for Hannah Montana. Never.

XD: The only reason I watch this is for the frequent movies. It's how I've seen most Pixar movies.

Each network has something I like.

Nick/Nicktoons: Avatar, and eventually, The Legend of Korra.

Disney/XD: Phineas and Ferb as well as Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I'm surprised none of the previous posts brought up Avengers, but I don't know if we're only counting completely original productions.

CN has by far the most shows I like, but as was said, it's mostly on Mondays and Fridays. I'd like it more if Johnny Test wasn't shown so often. I'd also like it more if they showed Generator Rex during the weekdays. Plus, new Thunder Cats, duh. CN could easily do a new Toonami-like weekday action block if they wanted to, instead of just sticking to Fridays.

Hub: I like GI Joe, Transformers, Dan Vs, and especially Friendship is Magic, and I appreciate the reruns of stuff like Batman Beyond, MIB, and Deltora Quest is okay. All of the live action shows I could care less about though, but I'm hoping they'll get better programming soon.

I am Latin American, so I have to talk about the LA networks.

Discovery Kids: This was awesome when I was a kid, there were true science shows there and interesting stuff. But around the 2000 it underwent awful Network Decay and started to serve only toddlers. But worse, at least back then their shows still had some interesting stuff, like things about animals and etc. But eventually their shows began overfocusing on "let's be childish" than in doing anything actually remotely useful.

Cartoon Network: Oh god, I owe them so much. Looney Tunes, the first era of their cartoons like Dexter's lab. Then eventually Sheep in the big city and Billy and Mandy. But of course, Toonamy. Which led me to things like Samurai X and Gundam Wing - Then later Justice League. It is very sad actually, recently their new shows have been sucking. And they have had the Naruto license for years but they seldom actually air it. We are still in the filler arcs of the first Naruto series and there is no hopes we will get to Shippuden any time soon.

Nickelodeon: I have always hated it and never given it an actual chance.

Fox Kids -> Jetix -> Disney XD. This one has never failed me. The Disney XD one does bring some Disney Live Action crap, but they do include many animated goodness with them, even now.

Bummerang: This is depressing. It was such a great channel at first. Airing Garfield And Friends, Pink Panther and many other things that are great. But then it switched to what it is right now. Which appears to be a Disney Channel knock-off that does not have any of its good attributes.

Disney Channel: Such a dark horse. I really didn't care much of it, but I eventually ended liked many of the things it delivers (except for the live action crap). But when I focus on the other shows and the classic/Pixar Movies I cannot complain. It is like a double personality channel that is great most of the time but you have to look away when it begins airing crap. I mean, I love things like Phineas And Ferb, Art Attack, Fairy Odd Parents (The Disney channels in here have the license for the pre-Poof seasons, while Nick gets to air the recent ones. This makes Disney have the monopoly on the good episodes). The replacements are also great stuff.

Recently I stopped caring for CN and I noticed that Disney are the ones actually doing cool animated stuff. With P&F and the Avengers. Cartoon network is actively getting pwned by the Disney brand channels and lost all my respect, long gone is my beloved network that gave me good anime, good super hero shows and good classic stuff. They are still nice and I still watch it when they show their old stuff, but they progressively show it less and less.

So my current thing is to like the Disneys, but pretend like they don't air their live action crap. As long as I can avoid opening those channels when they air their live action stuff I am good.

Nick: Really sucking right now in my opinion. They still can't seem to find shows to replace the constant marathons of Sponge Bob and iCarly. At least the animated shows are getting better, but not by much. They seem to be trying too hard to copy Disney, especially after successfully ripping off The Jonas Brothers.

CN: Has been way better than in recent years. I just about gave up on the station around 2009 when they added all the reality crap and stopped showing a lot of their original toons. They have really saved face by bringing in more creative shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show to the network, and the upcoming lineup plus the return of Looney Toons has patched up some of my qualms.

Disney: Ugh! That's all I can say about Disney. UGH! It used to be a much better channel that had better cartoons, no commercials, and more classic content. Now it's overrun by tween crap! The Disney Channel was originally suppose to be more of a family channel. You know, one that actually provided entertainment that anyone could enjoy while not making you feel alienated. Now all it does is try to appeal to the tween demographic. Sure, they may occasionally play the classic Disney film here and there, but not as much as they used to. The only thing that is really saving the network in my opinion is Phineas and Ferb. It's the only thing worth watching on the channel.

Nick: I really miss their old shows. The nineties cartoons and such. After Danny Phantom and Avatar it pretty much went to crap for me. I hate most of their cartoons now, and all their live actions are pretty terrible. :(

Disney: It is ok. I like Phineas and Ferb and fish hooks, Suite Life, and Wizards of Waverly place are guilty pleasures. The rest sucks though.

Disney XD: I don't like it now. I liked it back when they had the awesome music videos and such, but now with all the Zeke and Luther and Kick Buttoski it is really bad.

CN: It probably has the most shows I really like on it, like Adventure Time and Regular Show, but without Flapjack or Sym-Bionic Titan I am getting worried. I am the same with all those other tropers, I watch it on Mondays and Fridays, but the rest of the time it is kinda sucky.

Disney: In the worst shape in my view, all animation coming from it is either Phineas And Ferb or Adobe Flash

Nickelodeon: Pretty much the same as Disney except replace Phineas And Ferb with Sponge Bob and to a lesser extent, Butch Hartman's and Mike and Bryan's work and Adobe Flash with All-CGI Cartoon

Cartoon Network: In better shape than the last two, Thanks to Adventure Time, Regular Show and Adult Swim.

Disney: I dont care about them anymore, I would just watch my Dvds of Disney cartoons seeing how much of their stuff isn't entertaining for my time.

Cartoon Network: I only watch this for The Looney Tunes Show, Regular Show, and Sym Bionic Titan. I just wish that they just stop doing those low budgeted live-action shows and just focus on good animated shows like titan and regular show.

Nick: I HATE these guys. Including anything from Butch Hartman. I swear to god Nick is just the king of not caring for animation for entertainment and just want big bags of money. Its no wonder why my friends hate Spounge Bob and FOP now. Besides, those shows(along with anything from Hartman) should be canceled off. I cant believe that they refuse to pick up good pilots over shiity animation. Like the modifyers pilot didn't get picked up over that Fanboy and Chum chum. What a waste of talent, losted to a patehic and rather stupid CG cartoon. And I'm thankful that Mighty B is off the air as well. That show was like a girl verison of Spounge bob.

Hub: Friendship is magic and reruns of Batman Beyond are worth it.

Disney (lumping regular and XD together): Phineas and Ferb and Fish Hooks make it worth watching. Kick Buttowski is also pretty good, but it seems like they never air it (or maybe I'm just watching at the wrong times). Their other animated shows are OK, but I haven't watched them enough to form an opinion.

Cartoon Network: ...Meh. It's not that I don't hate Cartoon Network; it's just that I'm usually watching other stuff. I'm glad they've gotten rid of CN Real (and most of the shows that were on it). Ben 10 is fine; Generator Rex is better. Don't watch Adventure Time a lot, but what I've seen is pretty funny.

Nick: I would like Nick more if they didn't show the same damn four shows all day every day (Spongebob, Avatar, Fairly Oddparents, Dragonball Z Kai). Heck, I wouldn't even mind watching some T.U.F.F. Puppy or Danny Phantom because it just means it's something different.

I mean, I love Avatar, but even I'm getting sick of see it on TV. Legend of Korra can not come soon enough.

Wow, now I understand how aggravated people feel about them as part of a reason why some have an extremely justified Nostalgia Filter for how those networks were like when those people were kids. This is now starting to make me think that nostalgia should be a virtue instead of just being treated like one since the Seven Heavenly Virtues themselves seemed to have been constantly abided by back then.

Disney Channel: I don't watch Disney Channel at all anymore, and haven't done so for at least two years or so.

Disney XD: Better than Disney Channel, but still not that good. Since they're being stingy about airing new episodes of Avengers, I haven't watched in a while.

Nickelodeon: AKA, Nickelodeon: starring Spongebob and I Carly, and co-starring other shitty cartoons, I Carly Expies, and most damning of all, boy band shows trying to copy off Disney. Blaagh!! But not all hope is lost, as they have Power Rangers Samurai now, and soon, The Legend Of Korra and Ninja Turtles.

Nicktoons: Admittedly, I haven't watched in awhile, but when I was watching it last, it was MUCH BETTER than Nick proper, what with DBZKai, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Invader Zim, and other good shows. And they seem to give a lot of love to Avatar, unlike Nickelodeon.

Cartoon Network: *Sigh*. CN use to be my favorite channel ever, and even now, it still has some awesome shows on it. But the executives have been really pissing me off lately! Seriously, they fucking cancelled Sym-Bionic-Titan because it wasn't selling toys, and meanwhile, they keep whoring out the mediocre Ben10 because it IS selling toys! And of course, there's all those shitty live-action reality shows and game shows that they keep insisting on airing despite the fact that everyone hates them! And even more bizarrely, the screw over the few live-action shows that didn't suck! And if they prematurely cancel Young Justice and Scooby Doo Mystery Inc, Cartoon Network will officially be dead to me.

The Hub: New My Little Pony, new Transformers, new GI Joe, old cartoons like Men In Black and Batman Beyond, Dan Vs, The Haunting Hour The Series, Santa Claus is real, he's in our booth, and he's giving out fucking handjobs!

...OK, I just wanted to type that, but I really do like The Hub the best out of all the kids networks right now.

Disney Channel: Don't watch it. Little brother does, though, and he seems to like it.

Disney XD: See above.

Nickelodeon/Nicktoons: I'll turn it on every now and then and sort of watch Sponge Bob, but other than that? Nope. I've disliked the channel since they jerked Danny Phantom around in both script and timing...but that's another topic for another time.

The Hub: It's a good channel- they show a lot of the cartoons that I liked when I was younger, like Batman Beyond and Men In Black, and when I do watch Dan Vs I'm rarely disappointed and Haunting Hour feels like a throwback to the Goosebumps show that I was so terrified of as a kid.

CN: Sigh. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with them. One hand, I'm still very pissed about The Secret Saturdays getting cancelled and the live action crap getting renewed over the ones that were good. On the other hand, I do enjoy Ben 10, Adventure Time, Regular Show and Generator Rex... so yeah.

Disney Channel: Good for when I am home alone and bored, but there are no shows that I will sit down and dedicate time to watching (except Phineas And Ferb)

Nick: I only watch Nick at Night now. I dislike most of their live action shows, particularly the ones by Dan Schneider. I especially dislike iCarly, mainly because the premise to me is just getting old (how long can she have an apparent hit webshow without either hitting it big or fading out of popularity).

Cartoon Network: Ehh. I haven't really watched it regularly since the days when they showed Code Lyoko in the afternoon, and that was a long time ago. I don't really care for their shows now.

Nick: I like Spongebob. Also some stuff they play on Nicktoons.

CN: They show Looney Tunes again. That makes them okay. Plus Regular Show and Adventure Time are pretty cool.

Disney: Never watch these guys outside of occassional movies, and in rare instances Phineas and Pherb, but I can't seem to get into that show like a lot of the internet can.

Nick: I haven't liked it much since the 2000's rolled around. I do occasionally watch Nicktoons Network for Rockos Modern Life and Invader Zim. Mostly I miss the way it was in the 90's. I can't watch it anymore, since I'm not into Spongebob and it's like The Spongebob Channel now.

CN: Cartoon Network is dead to me. It was my favorite channel once, and it's downfall was incredibly disappointing. I still watched Boomerang though when I had satillite, and if I still had satillite I'd still watch it.

Disney Channel: I haven't been able to stomach this channel since the late 90's. I have a ton of fond memories of it from the 80's and early 90's though.

Disney XD: I want my Toon Disney back.

The Hub: My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, Fraggle Rock, 80's Transformers. I thought channels this good had died out. Here's hoping it resists the forces of Network Decay for years to come.

Note: Adobe Flash is not the name of a show!

Now...

Nickelodeon- Pretty boring to me now. It wasn't the case 4 years ago, when Nicktoons actually tried to air original cartoons in the way Big!Nick tried in 1993, but they've suffered Network Decay after that, and when Nick's cartoons were actually entertaining. I hate how Dream Works is taking over ever corner of entertainment, how the Teen Sitcoms are invading the network, and how they're only reviving zombie franchises (CN is doing the same thing). I'm not a fan of action shows, so the superheroes are out, for me. Dragon Ball Z Kai won't last long, now that it's officially been canceled. Standing idle, for the next exciting show...

CN- They're trying to get back on their feet after greenlighting CN Real in their drunken stuper, but they're still floundering. They are the epitome of poor executive decision-making in not just animation networks, but ALL networks. I'm glad they're bringing more cartoons in again, but now it's hit-or-miss for them. Right now, the only good nights are on Mondays when they have the premieres, Adult Swim when they have Family Guy and Superjail on, and Saturdays, when I tune in for their anime premieres, which, oddly enough, no one has yet mentioned! I do look foward to The Looney Tunes Show tomorrow and hope I don't cringe a whole lot.

The HUB- I have it but do not watch nearly enough! I still gotta check out My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic if only because fans are all over the internet, and a lot of my Nostalgia Filter pleasures. A toy company shelling out with a revival of 80's-like franchise-driven cartoons that don't suck?! Wow!

The Disney Channel- No real problems right now. Same opinion about the Teen Sitcoms. I like how they try to plug Phineas And Ferb steadily with their premieres and their interviews with live-action celebrities. Their Naruto airing is not getting good reviews. I wish they would bring back the good movies though. Pretty much the only place I can watch my favorite Disney movies is on ABC Family... and I live alone!

Disney XD- Meh.

Now, if you want a network for anime that isn't floundering, get the FU Nimation Channel! That stuff's the shiz!
