By far the best name for a band I ever heard is Sharks! On Fire!. I heard them on the radio once, and they were one of the few things on the radio I actually remembered, because a band called Sharks! On Fire! with an album called We Had A Dance-Off In A Lightning Storm is pretty memorable.
I just found out there's a band called OCD Soundsystem.
There's a Japanese rock band called Dirty Old Men. Were the record label sleeping when deciding the name?
...well, are they dirty old men?
Of course not.
I'm guessing the name is a reference to LCD Soundsystem, right?
In other news, once there was this cover band somewhere named "Reel Big Phish" (and in, they put the name of Phish and Reel Big Fish together.)
Do they play covers from those bands or is it completely unrelated?
Also, I remember seeing this terrible local band once. It was called "All Hope Is GUN" (all caps on 'GUN' not optional), and it was most likely a reference to the Slipknot album released a year prior. Plus it's a godawful pun.

I dunno, I didn't bother seeing them, but I'll assume yeah.
I'll never understand how a band with a name like "Limp Bizkit" ever managed to become popular.
Because a lot of white preteens were willing to listen?
Bad name, good music.
I'm generally not a fan of the "complete sentence" school of band names - back when A Good Name for a Rock Band was about the names of actual rock bands, that was a category; things like We Butter The Bread With Butter or Bring Me The Horizon. Although one of my favorite local bands is called Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling, and I like their name note . Maybe in a universe where I didn't happen to see them open for another band, that same name would be an obstacle for me though.

Best band name: "The Band"
What he said.
Other candidates for that would be Rush, Dream Theater, and Iron Maiden.
The possum is a potential perpetrator; he did place possum poo in the plum pot.Dat profile picture
On my wave, passing oooooooonWolfmother is probably on of the more badass band names I've heard.

Conversely, Korn is probably the stupid name I've ever heard for a band.
Think about it, of all the things, fucking KORN? (Then again, Korn sucks [except for their first album, not even gonna lie] so maybe the crappy ass name fits?)

Worst? I don't care for the bands I don't listen to, but... Anal Cunt takes the cake. How am I supposed to like your music if your name is revolting? Unless... it was your intent to turn me away, in which case you succeeded!

I do a lot of music, but I think some of my favorite band names are:
Electric Light Orchestra, Spock's Beard (named for a band injoke, and Evil Spock's facial hair), Corvus Corax, Dream Theatre, The Protomen (note:a Megaman progressive rock band, based around a Dystopian Future. They rock), Snap!, Queen, Neu!, and a few others I know I'm missing right now.
Worst:
Limp Bizkit (really?), Korn, Rainbow (I still like their music), Breaking Benjamin, Rhapsody (of Fire)
P.S. I can not figure out how to do footnotes on the forum help.

That's the point. They're very very very VERY much a joke band.
In the country music field, I always thought Pirates of the Mississippi was an awesome name. Shame they didn't really have a lot of hits.
To do footnotes, you type [[note]]some text[[/note]] without the equal sign and extra brackets. note
I've never understood why the Benjamin needs to be Broken. Or is Benjamin breaking something himself? So confusing.
Break-it Benjamin
"Rash of Stabbings" sounds like a really weird magical item from a Dn D game.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.
