I played this game a bit when it first came out, and I recently picked it back up again and everything's all different. It just dumps you into Millennium City right after the tutorial! What happened to Desert Crisis and Canada Crisis? Did Cryptic solve the not-enough-missions-to-comfortably-level-up problem by rejiggering the zone flow so that you don't go to those places until later?

Minor thread necromancy: I'm playing as an insane ex-military, ex-SWAT guy named Sergeant Pain who prefers to solve the crime problem by applying gratuitous amounts of dakka.
Submachine Gun Burst is also my favorite skill right now, since it basically turns everything in front of me into very dead lumps of meat. Shotgun blast is a close second.

As far as I could tell. That character never made it out of Millennium City, so maybe they're just higher level now.
Surprised there are so few posts here.
Anyway, I recently got this game, and I've been messing around with the various Archetypes. Specifically, I have a scientist Inferno named Ignis, a Powered Armor wearing Glacier named Absolute Zero, a Squishy Wizard Tempest named Fulguris, and a Conan-based Devastator simply called The Barbarian. I've also toyed with the idea of making a Sorcery-based freeform character, but I can't figure out what the differences between the different schools of Sorcery are.
So, what are all your characters like?
Just started playing (I think a week ago or so?) I got a Behemoth robot from the depth of the ocean named Typhoon and an Inferno human shaman named Salamander who was transformed into a Salamander as a curse.
Typhoon also got a nemesis named Ultra Udelok, the bulky but smart leader of an alien race from space.
If I ever get money, I think I will subscribe. Would also be fun to make a few more characters or at least mess around with the character creator.

Really enjoying this because it's actually fun, pokes the genre mercilessly, and the freedom on creating a hero (well... for Gold anyway).
It is suggested that you guys at least try for a month's worth of subscription. It changed my views on the game.
I just subbed at least a week ago. Turned my two characters into freeforms, and made a bunch of new characters.
