Whoo, another future mead-brewer!
I'm planning on actually buying/drinking some mead first, since barely anyone can describe what it tastes like unless it's bad mead.
Hot spiced mead tastes just like cinnamon tea and it's great in the wintertime. Regular mead is super-sweet. Think white wine but sweeter and with more flavor.

my brother's very fond of mead.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"See, I don't know what wine tastes like, so that's not very helpful. *is turning twenty-one this March*
Wine is an acquired taste. Fortunately, it's not too tough to acquire it.
Good to know.
Good meed is also a tad sweeter than wine. For someone who is not used to alcohol, you’d actually do pretty well to get acclimated to meed before other wines.
Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.Proverbs21:15 FimFiction account.Actually, I've tried whiskey and kahlua before. The good thing is that they're obviously completely different from mead/wine, so I'm not too troubled.
Plus I don't like whiskey much anyway, since it tastes like fire. Even bad mead would be hard-pressed to top that.
It tastes like peat fire, which is nice.
Mead is nice enough, kind of like a dessert white. As far as actual wine-wine goes, I'm more of a Rioja fan.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'So that's the weird note that I never pinned down!
...Where was the thread before everyone started talking about alcohol?
Religion, I believe.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'By the way, does anyone else tend to have oddities happen? Not like full-blown miracles or whatnot, but when I was younger and alone in the house, I'd hear music—like someone (usually a single person) is playing just outside the front door or something.
The music was always note-perfect and sometimes it would go on for several minutes without stopping. And these weren't just familiar songs that were stuck in my head; they were extremely intricate melodies that I'd never heard before and weren't based on anything I'd logically know.
Whenever I looked, there was no one there.
When it was happening I thought it was neat, but now that I know it's probably the Folk and I probably shouldn't have been going around looking for phantom musicians (just a few steps and always within sight of the door, but still), it freaks me out just a tad.
Mom said the the Diwata only appear to children or those who aren't afraid of them. Being a cautious adult is probably why I don't hear the music anymore.
Weirdest thing happenning to me was a time in which there where LOTS of coincidences. Like, whenever I heard or thought of fact/idea/thing X, it would suddenly pop up everywhere in my life. It was sort of frightening, in a non-threatening way.
The Great Northern Threadkill. Are they improbable coincidences, or "it's always [certain time] when I look at the clock! SWEET GODS WHY!"

Sometimes I'll hear voices calling my name, or knocking on the walls, or I'll 'see' things. My other half is much more skilled at these things than I am, and is lucky or unlucky enough to have Second Sight.
I've had the odd (very odd) dealing with the Fey, but they don't work by the same rules as us, so it can be a risky business.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'
Actually, I sort of had both. I do remember that at some point, whenever I would look at the clock in schoool, it would be 11h30.
As for the rest, I think now it's probably because we live in a small world.
The Great Northern Threadkill. For me, it's always 12:34, 8:19 (that last one is actually my birth date), and I always wake up at 10:41.
There was a period of my life where almost any time I was in the car with someone, I would see a Red-Tailed Hawk either flying overhead or perched on a lamppost, only to have it no longer be visible by the time I called the other person's attention to it. I never did figure out what it signified, but it doesn't happen anymore.
That happens to me with ravens a lot. They float around loftily just within my vision, and then when I call someone else's attention over, they're gone.
Bitches are crafty.

That happens to me all the time. Like seriously, every day. Usually more than once.
A few more weird things about me:
Whenever I (or someone near me) plugs an electrical device in, I hear ringing. It's weird.
Sometimes I dream of the future. Seriously. Little things, like what some one's going to say, a page from a book I'll read, what page a book I open randomly falls to. When I was little I would be like "Whoa, when did this happen before?" But now I'm recognizing the dreams. Though I tend to forget about them until it actually happens, then I go 'Whoa'.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!^ Ugh, I hate that. Most useless superpower ever, amirite?
... I'll just see myself out, shall I?
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!What, the foreshadowing thing? Yeah, it's kind of annoying. But today it was kind of cool. I kept think about Star Wars for some reason, and in band we got the Star Wars theme as a new piece of music.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!A friend of mine calls herself the Trivial Psychic — I think after a comedy skit, probably SNL. She can effortlessly predict all kinds of useless stuff. Nothing of import.
A brighter future for a darker age.The gods' ironic sense of humor is showing again—since mentioning on the first page of this thread how much I love my silk floral Sabbat decorations, I've started to get tired of them and am now seriously considering phasing them out this year. I've already started working on a miniature maypole to use as my Beltane centerpiece instead. Fortunately, since the floral pieces are held together only with wire, no glue, I can disassemble them and re-use the bits in other projects.
Hello all! I don't think I'd describe myself as any particular brand of Pagan, and while I'm not Dianic (I follow a more Celtic/Norse path), I've always had a particular fondness for Artemis. She was my favorite of the Greek pantheon ever since I was very small (starting elementary school-small), and oddly enough I've had several family members named Diana and Cynthia-another named for Artemis. In Middle School I would stay up almost every night for hours and hours just staring at the moon and I would feel this strong maternal sensation emanating from it. Like a lot of people here, it would seem, I felt a strong bond with nature early on in life and was not fond of the preachings in the Bible. As long as I can remember, I never liked going to church and would always try to get out of it. I'm very fond of incorporating my beliefs into my artisan work, such as gardening, woodwork and metallurgy, and when I turn 21, I plan on brewing mead specifically for
awesome partiesritual. I find that when I craft things is the best time for meditation because I become very focused.
