I wonder how did people ever find their way into tvtropes when its almost unheard off to begin with. For me I never knew anything about tropes or tvtropes before.

I found tvtropes when I was reading stuff on Gundam in wikipedia, then when I read Tomino's page I clicked the link that says Kill 'em All. Then I found myself into tvtropes.

How did you found tvtropes?

I was browsing the Battleships Forever forum, and spotted someone linking to Rule Of Cool on here. Followed the link, browsed around, and the rest is history.

A webcomic called Frederick the Great linked to Historical Villain Upgrade (or was it hero upgrade? Not 100% sure) in its funny comments under the comic pages. That was mid 2008. And thus an addiction was born. Huzzah!

I can't remember how, but the first page I found was Raised by Wolves. It was possibly on a Dr. Who forum, because I vaguely remember it having something to do with The Sarah Jane Adventures.

I was on GameFAQs reading a forum thread when someone linked to The AI Is A Cheating Bastard.

I was searching for my favorite movie quote ever: "But for Me, It Was Tuesday". Guess what popped up?

Fairly sure it was a Wikipedia link, but it's so long ago that I can't remember the page. I didn't really get what the site was about, though, and I just browsed a few articles and left.

I rediscovered it shortly afterwards while Googling terms used in my media studies class. I started using this site to help me understand the course.

Same here except with a different trope. I was browsing the Cartoons and Animation board and came across a topic about the annoying amount if fat, lazy, stupid husbands/dads in cartoons with a link to either Lazy Husband or Bumbling Dad (I can't remember which). I'd seen links to this "Tv Tropes" thing before, but never actually followed the links. This time, though, I decided to check it out.

I got in and was reading when I saw a link to another page. Thinking it to be harmless I decided to open another tab and read on. We all know how the rest of the story goes.

I was looking for information on Devil Survivor and tvtropes was one of the links that popped up. At first I was like "What the hell is this shit??" but I warmed up to it.

I was googling for tsundere, doesn't know what it is at that time. That was last year.

I found it through the Spiderweb Software forums, which have several tropers on them.

I found it sometime online, then forgot about it.

Then a friend re-showed it to me and I've been around since then.

I never did decide whether to kill him or thank him.

I got home one night and my older brother would not stop bugging me to look at this awesome website he'd found First page I ever read was Deadpan Snarker. That was a few years ago.

I think that he found the site while looking for a Deus Ex walkthrough.

Remember that grand list of console RPG cliches and the list of things a realistic evil overlord would do? I tried to find an anime version of that cliches list and after finding a few and feeling unsatisfied, I accidentally stumbled upon this place.

I submitted "Hurt/Comfort" into a search engine. I thought it was a comedy site at first.

A link from the Giant In The Playground forums. It was to either Pet or Kick the Dog, I forget which.

I googled something (I think it was an anime series, but I'm not sure) and this link was one of the top ones. By clicking on the link I passed the event horizon.

A poster from the Sluggy Freelance forum wouldn't stop linking to This Wiki. What can i say? I fell hard for the Schmuck Bait.

I googled something to do with awesome moments in Harry Potter and the rest is history.

Was bored at work and found that this was a fun site that government computers don't block.

I found a link to Xanatos Gambit. Fitting as in hindsight I think it was a Xanatos Gambit by the wiki to get me over here.
