Kory: i will need to do some more testing to see if the 500KB should be lowered even more but either way everyone can relax because the database will not crash or implode in anyway due to page size so splitting pages isn't a huge priority and is just more of a suggestion. For pages that actually load slow, splitting the pages will help slower internet users navigate these pages better.
It looks like pages over 500,000 characters (html formatted, that is) are crashing the server when someone tries to edit them. programmer's whine
They need to be fixed, anyway. Way too big for one page. They need to be broken up into subpages of a reasonable size.
I'm trying to get better about communicating before big changes, so we'll let this one run for a while before taking the action. The server crashes do come under the heading of 'urgent', though.

Looks like someone got halfway through splitting And I Must Scream into subpages. I split off a few more because the page really was too long; someone else should finish this.

I'm not sure how to go about splitting myself...by character or first game for example? I'm kind of hesitant to work on it.

First game is the way to go, unless some of the characters folders are big enough to warrant their own page.

I think the best way to handle this one would be to create a page for denizens of the High Heavens, the Burning Hells and Sanctuary (though the player characters might need their own subpage as well).

I see two possibilities there. One is to split the pages between Fridge Brilliance and Fridge Horror, and the other to split them into Seasons 1&2 and 3&4. Which one would work better? Or is there another idea I'm not seeing?

Considering it has a Characters page, cutting those character bios from the page may also be worth considering.

I have to agree with Dust Snitch about the character discussion on the Whateley Universe main page; while there ought to be something about the Team Kimba characters there, what is there now is too long, and the rest of the character descriptions should just be in the Character pages.
As for breaking the tropes listings up, that will probably need to be done, too, but I suggest seeing how things look after removing or relocating the character material first.
Perhaps we could break out just some of the related tropes by category - sex and gender tropes, superhero tropes, deconstruction/parody tropes - and leave most of the individual tropes in place, rather than doing a whole alphabetized breakdown.
