YMMV / Among Us Logic

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: After becoming zombiefied, does Mr. Cheese attack Captain out of revenge, instinct, or as a way to protect Player.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Mr. Cheese has developed into this after getting more focus, thanks to developing into a Jerkass. Several fans have accused him of being a Creator's Pet and becoming unlikeable, while others still find him as enjoyable as ever.
  • Bizarro Episode: "The Last Crewmate" is an episode-long spoof of Star Wars completely out of continuity with the series.
  • Catharsis Factor: In Among Us Logic, But The Imposter Changes Colors, if Player winning wasn't cathartic enough, all of the other players in the game spawning on the victory screen and congratulating him will seal the deal.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: As a Crewmate, Mother acts like… well, a concerned mother. As an impostor, she gleefully murders crewmates, showing pride when one of her children says "kill" as their first word.
  • Creepy Awesome: It is very hard to find someone who does not like No-Visor, or his story.
  • Designated Monkey: A lot of people watching feel like Player should win a game, whether be it as Crewmate or Impostor, but the series tends to treat his numerous defeats as deserved in spite of his only crime being the fact that he's a bit dim.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Mr. Cheese, in spite of appearing for only the first two episodes, was well-received thanks to his stupidity and Butt-Monkey nature. Outing Player as an impostor in episode 2 caused his popularity to drop, but he rebounded. He proved popular enough to return in episode 5, and was promoted to being one of the main characters thanks to his popularity.
    • No-Visor was well-received for being a genuinely scary Knight of Cerebus, and instantly became one of the series' most popular characters.
    • Dr. Doctor proved to be pretty popular after his first appearance. Being nice to Player didn't hurt, either.
    • Gnome gained popularity thanks to her appearances in Gametoons Gaming, where she is clearly having the time of her life playing all the various mods.
    • The Gentleman started out as a major antagonist before being Demoted to Extra, but is still well liked for his Affably Evil demeanor and his relationship with Mr. Cheese.
    • Ninja, thanks to being a massive badass and one of the few intelligent members of the main cast. He proved so popular that he was brought back after being Put on a Bus and given a major role in the No-Visor arc.
  • Evil Is Cool: No-Visor is the only character who can be considered genuinely evil, and he's one of the series' most popular characters.
  • Fanon: Although Among Us Adventurers is non-canon, fans treat it as canon, since Player finally won a few games in that continuity.
  • Franchise Original Sin: Player was always doomed to lose since the very beginning, with what should have been an assured victory for Player being pulled away from him by an Ass Pull in Episode 2. However, as the series went on, the circumstances towards Player's losses came off as not only more cruel, but Ass Pulls assuring Player doesn't get his first win became more common. As a result, Player turned into The Woobie and a good number of the fandom believe it's time for Player's losing streak to be Running Gagged with a genuine victory. GameToons acknowledged the fans' request by having Player win in Among Us Logic, But The Imposter Changes Colors.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Veteran being imposter in Episode 16 is foreshadowed by his inability to do a task correctly (something Player doesn't pick up on).
  • Fridge Logic: Mr. Cheese is no longer in the Cheater's Lobby in episode 15, which means he must have renounced his victory in Episode 10 in order to get out. This could mean Player technically wins Episode 10 retroactively.
  • Heartwarming Moments: In Episode 33, Player finally wins a game, and the entire cast applauds him and sincerely congratulate him for finally doing so.
  • He Really Can Act: K. William Scott really shines as Player at the end of "Hacking Cams", capturing the increasing panic as he realizes that Qwerty has him dead to rights and is about to kill him perfectly. He gets another chance to shine in "Revenge of No-Visor", once again capturing Player's building sense of panic and fraying sanity.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Me. Cheese pretending to be Player for most of Episode 5 until The Reveal where he kills Mr. Egg sounds almost like Foreshadowing about the shapeshifter role added a year later.
  • Ho Yay: Between The Gentleman and Mr Cheese. In one of the Among Us Adventure mods, they both call each other "honey" and "babe", and in another game, Gentleman yells a Big "NO!" when he sees that Mr Cheese is dead.
  • Moral Event Horizon: PoopyFarts betraying everyone to summon No-Visor at the end of "Revenge of No-Visor", fully aware that it would cause his friends to die and then be turned into more No-Visors.
  • More Popular Spin-Off: Of Fall Guys Logic, where Player and Veteran originated. Not only does Fall Guys Logic have just 2 episodes, but the "real world" in this series has more resemblance towards Among Us than Fall Guys.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Episode 15 is full of it. To whit, there's Mr. Cheese slowly turning into a zombie, Mother being killed by her own zombified son, a zombified Engineer killing Gnome, and Player being torn apart by zombies.
    • "The Legend of No-Visor" is pretty damn creepy, particularly the faceless crewmates and their Madness Mantra and the ending, where No-Visor appears and drags Player and Veteran off to turn them into monstrous ghosts like him.
    • "The Return of No-Visor", which is basically a Slasher Movie. Notable moments include No-Visor devouring a random Crewmate, and converting everyone else into more No-Visors. Probably the worst part is the ending, where Player freaks out and busts into sheer panic as he's surrounded by No-Visor and the ghosts of his friends.
    • Qwerty ejecting Player from the ship at the end of "Hacking Cams". Sure, it's a Shout-Out to 2001: A Space Odyssey, but Qwerty's shift from a cute Robot Buddy to speaking in a Creepy Monotone and Player's panicked begging is chilling.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Mr. Egg, while not outright hated, is widely regarded as blander than, inferior to, and not as funny as his predecessor Mr. Cheese. Tellingly, when Mr. Cheese returned and murdered him for replacing him, not many people cared about Mr. Egg, instead being excited over Mr. Cheese’s return. When he returned, he was more well-received due to his new characterization as an Adorkable, forlorn ex seeking to get back together with The Gentleman.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Bro’s appearance in Roblox Logic was very well received, giving him more depth as a character.
    • Mr. Egg is also fairly popular thanks to how much of a Large Ham he is in Gametoons Gaming as well as his rivalry to Mr. Cheese giving him a purpose beyond being a Replacement Flat Character for him.
  • Ron the Death Eater: In most fanart, Mr. Cheese is depicted as friendly and near Pollyanna-esque on the outside, but a merciless Soft-Spoken Sadist predator that manipulates everything to his advantage on the inside. Though considering how many times Mr. Cheese has consistently gotten the Impostor role (as well as winning a good chunk of them at that) as well as his one of his musical numbers being a Villain Song literally called "No One Suspects Mr. Cheese", this may as well be his Canon characterization.
  • The Scrappy:
    • Not-Orange was not well-received by fans, thanks to behaving like an obnoxious jackass to the main cast, his presence resulting in Blue and Player Taking a Level in Jerkass, and getting away with cheating while Player is sent to the Cheater's Lobby for being complicit in Blue and Not-Orange's cheating.
    • Mrs. Pink, mainly for her ugly and oddly creepy appearance.
    • Qwerty, for robbing Player of an easy win.
    • Franklin for his rude behavior and being needlessly bloodthirsty.
  • Seasonal Rot: The later episodes are widely regarded as a step down, with the exception of the No-Visor arc. Criticisms include having stopped spoofing Among Us in favor of parodying various movies and TV shows, the show's humor becoming too mean-spirited to be funny, episodes becoming increasingly formulaic, and various characters Taking a Level in Jerkass or picking up the Jerkass Ball on a regular basis. GameToons has replaced this series with Friday Night Funkin' Logic, and No-Visor's defeat has nullified the central joke of the series.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Later episodes of Gametoons Gaming would leave out the opening and closing lobby scenes, and the players would no longer report bodies or call meetings. This was criticized because it removed a lot of the banter between players, and missed the point of the game.
  • Tearjerker:
  • The Woobie:
    • Player, who is yet to win a single game. This is especially egregious in episodes 2 and 4, where he gets sold out moments before victory. This gets worse later on in the series, where absolutely no one likes or respects him thanks to his failures and mocks him whenever they can, and then gets exaggerated in the No-Visor storyline, where No-Visor singles him out and subjects him to a ton of psychological torment.
    • Mr. Cheese, for all the abuse he takes from The Gentleman. This gets better in later episodes, though.
    • Doctor Doctor, due to No-Visor possessing his son and ripping out his visor. The only reason why he is helping him find a new host is because he wants his son back.
    • Aiden. He was a hardworking Nice Guy who got tormented and possessed by No-Visor, with the implication it caused a Death of Personality.
