Web Video: The Quest
The Quest is a Web Original Superhero series created by Crimson Vision Studios, centering around the adventures of The Crimson Blur, a Lightning Bruiser on a quest to become a true hero. Along the way he joins forces with a number of other heroes, mostly 'Volvers' who obtained their powers from experiments at Vector Labs. Season 2 saw him officially join a team known as the Dreaded Heroes, founded by Intrepid Reporter turned Mayor, Bruce Balbowski.

This show provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Bruce calls the Jade Sorcerer the Green Wizard. While taking the mix up with a lot more dignity than most, he is obviously not pleased.
  • Alternate Universe: The V-Portal leads to one that nullifies the powers of Volvers.
  • Arch-Enemy: Crimson and Diesel.
  • Author Appeal: Crimson Vision Studios LOVE Nanodots.
    • They can even be used to defend against magic!
  • Badass Normal: Bruce, as of Warzone Part II.
  • Bad Boss: Diesel.
  • Bad Future: Splice rules it, by the looks of things.
  • Big Bad: Diesel in Season One, Splice in Season Two, and now it would appear to be the Jade Sorcerer.
  • Big Damn Heroes: The Detective attempts this in his introduction. He almost screws it up when he is mind controlled into leaving.
  • Big Good: Bruce Balbowski, Mayor and leader of the Dreaded Heroes.
  • Civvie Spandex: A number of costumes are casual clothing and sunglasses. Blur's costume is a red jacket and sunglasses.
  • Cool Teacher: The Detective.
  • Demoted to Dragon: Diesel to Splice in Season Two.
  • Death by Origin Story: Crimson's father.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Splice, along with most of the Dreaded Heroes, is apaprently killed off-screen by Dr. Vector. Especially unexpected as he was the season's Big Bad up until that stage.
  • Face-Heel Turn: Crimson when The Jade Sorcerer dupes him into becoming The Shadow Blur.
    • And now Hinokin becoming Infernus.
  • Funny Background Event: Jade Sorcerer teleports Bruce on top of a mountain so he and Crimson can face each other uninterrupted. As they prepare for battle, Bruce runs down to rejoin the fight.
  • Hypocrite: Hinokin defeats Shadow Blur, stating that he joined the Dreaded Heroes to save the world, before promptly stealing his Dark Item and joining the bad guys, without a hint of irony.
    • Word of God has mentioned that the Items beckon people to wear them, as seen earlier with Crimson, but they cut the scene showing that with Hinokin for time.
  • It's All About Me: Bruce Balbowski.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Bruce Balbowski is a Glory Hound who can never just say his first name and can be even an outright bully to some people, but he's honestly trying to do the right thing and save lives.
  • Kill 'em All: Vector Labs eliminates almost all of the Dreaded Heroes, who up until The Reveal at the end of Season 2, had seemingly just stopped appearing.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Inverted with Bruce. The series is more or less a serious (if somewhat goofy) superhero story overall, but whenever he shows up things get a whole lot more amusing.
  • Mad Scientist: Splice and Dr. Vector. Crimson's dad provides a more heroic example.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: The aptly titled 'Upgrades' that give Crimson better control over his speed; they take the form of a device strapped to his arm.
  • Names to Run Away From Really Fast: The Dreaded Heroes. To be dreaded by criminals and supervillains of course, but the name is still rather imposing.
  • Power Crystal: The crystal given to Crimson by his father, containing the power to grant any and all super powers.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Bruce Balbowski, yet again. Though in founding a superhero team, he does have some bragging rights.
  • Squishy Wizard: Averted by Jade Sorcerer. Take away his staff, and he can still put up a good fight.
  • Super Powered Evi L Side: Shadow Blur.
  • Super Speed: Crimson, though he seems to have trouble turning. Apparently Detective makes him do laps around the world as a punishment.
  • Super Strength: Diesel.
  • The Big Guy: Diesal again.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Bruce was a self admitted Failure Hero when he started trying to help out in Season 2. Come War Zone Part II, he manages to defeat Infernus!
    • Stealth in Season Two, having more or less gained invisibility.
