Slumber Party of the Departed is an on going play-by-post style Role-Playing Game inspired by the Ninjago series.

Woof, Geode, Rose, Blake and Kasia; five fans of the show have gathered at the house of their friend and fellow fan Brittney for the titular slumber party, held in honor of the new Ninjago special "Day of the Departed" airing that night.

What should have been a fun night of games and excitement quickly takes a turn for the worst when our cast messes with the mysterious Ouija board that had arrived earlier that day, accidentally unleashing the vengeful spirits of Ninjago's worst villains in the process!

Now they must work together to survive the night, lest Sensei Yang add their souls to his collection of ghostly pupils!

The game started as a Halloween Special to help ease the pain of waiting for the new episode to air in Real Life, however it will continue till the end of it's planned storyline regardless of the fact that Halloween time has come and gone.

This page also serves as a manual for the RP, chronicling not only the events of the game but also details that had to be cut for the sake of the format.

Slumber Party of the Departed provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Five out of the six party goers are this.
  • Artifact of Doom: The mysterious Ouija board that showed up on the doorstep before the party got started.
  • Artificial Intelligence: P.I.X.A.L and Woof. Also the Nindroids.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Four of the six party goers-turned-ninja end up being temporarily turned evil through contact with Dark Matter. Brittney may have gotten the worst of it because she was forced to drink it, where as Geode, Blake and Woof only got hit by it.
  • Continuity Nod: The story is about the friends being forced to re-live the lives of the original ninjas, as such, the whole friggin' plot could be considered this!
  • Cutting the Knot: The team eventually gets sick of the haunting and attempts to destroy the Ouija board using Geode's Super-Strength, believing they can end the haunting this way. It fails. As "punishment" for trying to "cheat," Yang curses Geode into a ghost.
  • Fangirl: Aside from the danger our heroines and hero are in, they seem to generally enjoy being a part of their favorite series. At least, until people start dying.
  • Foreshadowing: Loads to go around!
    • To start, everyone's pajamas reference their favorite ninja. Then they end up with the Elemental Powers and to their terror, destinys, of their idols!

    • When the Nindroids attack, PIXAL tells Woof to cut a white, a black and a red wire to shut off the power. This reveales the exact order of who will die. White=Woof, Black=Geode, Red=Brittney.
  • Personality Powers: Played with. Their powers were given to them based on their favorite ninja, not by personality type. However, the personality traits of the original ninja slowly start to seep into our heroes the longer they have/use their elements.
  • Scavenger Hunt: The first activity of the night, in which replicas of the Golden Weapons were found.
  • Spooky Séance: Performing one of these to kill some time waiting for the special to air is what kicked off the main plot.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: The Overlord is this, big time. He is the most powerful villain in the show, appears in full dragon form, and turns most of the team evil. Fortunately, he is defeated by Ultimate Spinjitzu Master Kasia.
  • Year Outside, Hour Inside: In a way. The events of the story take place over a single night, but the game has been played for several months in real time.
