Animator, Speedunner, Tired beyond all belief

ScottFalco is an animator on YouTube, most well known for his "With a Side of Salt" and "Totally Legit Speedrun/Animation" videos.

Joining YouTube in May of 2006, Scott wouldn't upload his first video, Super Mario Hyadain, until 2008. On July 26, 2016, Scott uploaded Symmetra With A Side of Salt, the first of the "With a Side of Salt" series. Orginally only for Overwatch characters, he branched off to other games, and eventually anime. He later went on to begin a new series- "A TOTALLY Legit Speedrun" in June of 2019- starting with "A TOTALLY Legit Wind Waker Speedrun (WORLD RECORD)". Non-speedrun Totally Legit animations have also been made on his channel.

The "With A Side of Salt" videos can be found here. In order, the series has had:

Totally Legit Speedruns

Scott Falco’s videos have examples of:

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Super Mario Hyadain has the Mario Bros redesigned into rather young anime boys.
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Scott loves his alliteration, particularly in the modded speedrun videos. One of the best examples, from "A Hollow Knight SPEEDRUN but you have a GUN":
"She drops, but births a beastly battalion of buzzing bugs to battle me, but my bullet barrages once again best these bad boys."
  • Berserk Button:
    • He hates the Handler, so much that her appearance at the start of Monster Hunter: Rise with a Side of Salt knocks him right out of the Cuteness Proximity he was enjoying up until then.
    • On his (opinionated) tier list for weapons in Rise, he has the Long Sword in the "FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUU" tier, below even the Insect Glaive.
    • Downplayed, but he has nothing nice to say to Splatoon players who use the Aerospray in Ranked/Anarchy Battle.
C.C.: "Man, you really hate the Aerospray, don't you?"
Monitor: ONLY TRASH USE THE TRASHCAN
  • Catchphrase: Often says some variation on "an X of the Y variety" in the modded speedrun videos.
  • Door Fu: In the Luigi's Mansion video, Luigi makes himself apparent to Chauncey by throwing his bedroom door at him.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Pringus McDingus somehow managed not to notice that he had one task left in An Idiot Among Us. This led to the game going on for 27 minutes. As a result, Scott immediately convinces the others to space Pringus in the next game, stating that he'd be a liability otherwise. As insult to injury, he was the imposter to boot.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: His My Hero Academia video is currently the only With a Side of Salt video that focuses on an anime, rather than video game.
  • Insult Backfire: When a ghost in a painting tells Luigi "you... suck", he retorts with "isn't that kinda the point?"
  • Klingon Promotion: In the Wind Waker Speedrun video, Link kills one of the Rito mail men, and then talks to another one.
Rito Mail Man: Did you just kill our delivery man?
    Link: Yep!
Rito Mail Man: Alright, I guess the job's yours.
  • Running Gag: Has a few in his Totally legit speedruns:
    • These iterations of Link (named Stink in the series proper) doing a double Flipping the Bird while retreating. It even makes a cameo in his first non-Zelda one with Luigi’s Mansion.
    • Luigi's Mansion has several:
      • Kicking open doors with a Target noise.
      • Luigi’s deep monologues.
      • Luigi vacuuming a ghost while a scream plays.
    • Pokémon Gold has aaaaaaa react to things - including naming himself, his Pokémon, and his rival - with screaming.
  • Surreal Humor: The animated speedruns inevitably come off as this, due to the protagonists functionally glitching out reality. Quite often characters start noticing that plot details are happening completely out of order. Poor, poor Zelda/Tetra gets the brunt of this, as she keeps ending up in places inexplicably with no idea of what the hell is going on.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: The Super Crown doesn't work the way you want it to work in canon.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: In Spelunky 2 with a side of salt, he sarcastically claims that CC (one of his original characters) is totally a character in the base game and definitely not modded in, though eagle eyed viewers will notice that the name on the character select screen (which is on screen for only a split second) still reads "LISE" when she is selected. He states that she is unlocked by simply subscribing to his channel, after which he starts pleading to his viewers to subscribe so he can reach a million.
  • Take That!: "Undertale with a side of salt" features a caricature of MatPat talking about Steven Universe being Sans.
  • Troll: "Undertale with a side of salt" also features Sans trolling Scott with, well, cursed fanart (though thankfully safe for work).
