Go To

Characters likely to appear
  • The Jetsons, but as brief gags à la The Flintstones.
    • Word of God via the internet confirms George Jetson to be born on August 22nd, 2022. This would make for a great opportunity to show Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy actually delivering him at the hospital!
    • Sorta confirmed. Orbitty made a cameo in "It's A Mad Mad Mad Rat Race".
    • The whole family appeared and was the focus of "Meet the Jetsons."
  • Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
    • The Vulture Squadron from Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines.
      • Yankee Doodle Pigeon has made at least two cameos thus far.
      • Klunk has been confirmed. You can briefly see him in the season 2 trailer.
      • Muttley was mentioned by Loopy in "Lady Danjjer: Is It Wrong to Long for Kabong?".
      • Confirmed. The duo appeared in "LAFF Games."
  • Penelope Pitstop.
  • For that matter, any of the Wacky Racers not listed (excluding the ones who debuted in the reboot), such as Peter Perfect.
  • Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole.
    • They might be joined by their furry supporting cast like Chief and Penny.
    • CONFIRMED! Secret made an appearance on a movie poster in "It's A Mad Mad Mad Rat Race". Plus, Morocco Mole made a cameo in the same episode.
  • Hong Kong Phooey (Number 1 super guy!).
    • Confirmed: He's the main character of an anime in the episode Collection Protection.
  • The 2 Stupid Dogs.
  • Inch High, Private Eye.
    • Confirmed. He is in "It's A Mad Mad Mad Rat Race".
  • Blue Falcon and Dynomutt.
    • Confirmed. Blue Falcon is in "Heroes and Capes".
  • Punkin' Puss and Mushmouse.
  • Ricochet Rabbit and Droop-a-Long Coyote.
  • Frankenstein Jr.. and Buzz Conroy.
    • Buzz made a cameo in "Lil' Honk Honks."
  • The Impossibles.
  • Peter Puck.
  • Clue Club.
    • Confirmed. They make 2 very brief appearances via Cutaway Gag in “A Coconut To Remember”.
  • Breezly and Sneezly.
    • Sneezly made a cameo in "Lil' Honk Honks."
  • The Really Rottens.
    • Mumbly.
    • Dread Baron appears in "Jailcation"
    • Confirmed. They (except Mumbly and Dread Baron) appeared in "Laff Games."
  • Cupcake and Mr. Cool, the wholly original characters from The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, similar to how Josie and the Pussycats couldn't appear, but Bleep from the spin-off could.
  • Salty the Parrot from Sinbad Jr.
    • Well, I still don't know how will that even be possible, considering Sinbad Jr. and his Magic Belt was never acquited by Turner Entertainment Co., thus it never came into WB's hand.
  • Gary Gulliver and Tagg.
  • The Trollkins.
  • Jan, Jace, Blip, Lokar, and Zorket.
    • Jan, Jace, and Blip all appear in "Space Con."
  • Precious Pupp.
  • The Space Kidettes, or at least a couple of them. Snoopy would get renamed for obvious reasons, and also get a Gender Flip.
  • Moby Dick the great white whale and Scooby the seal. Scooby's name would be used for jokes regarding his famous namesake or be changed.
    • Confirmed for Moby. He appears in "The Sea Monster of Jellystone Cove". Scooby the seal is absent.
      • Tubb from the series has become a reoccurring character in Season 3.
  • Goliath, without Samson.
  • The Holiday family, or maybe just Brutus.
  • The Boyle family.
  • The crew of the Sealab.
  • The Day family from These Are the Days.
  • Agent 000, who acts as an authority to the superhero characters like El Kabong.
  • Dinky Dog from The All-New Popeye Hour.
  • The Drak Pack, who'll be depicted as teenage horror movie fanboys and never be seen as normal teens.
  • Mini and Maxi, and maybe Hairy Scary too.
  • Jana of the Jungle, along with one of her animal friends like Slithor and/or Nocto.
  • An animated version of Roxana Banana.
  • The Paw Paws, who'll be voiced by actual child actors of indigenous North American heritage.
  • Sara and Wildfire.
  • George and Joey Bungle.
  • Galtar and Thork. A female character like Rava could appear too.
  • Don Coyote and Sancho Panda.
  • The Sky Commanders.
  • An animated version of B.B. Beegle.
  • Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and Becky Thatcher from The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. And they will be played by live-action actors in a cartoon setting.
  • The Snorks. Since it seems pretty unlikely that The Smurfs are going to show up, they could be a good substitute.
  • The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, but they might be retooled.
  • The Pirates of Dark Water
  • Dino-Boy, Ugh, and Bronty.
    • Dino-Boy is mentioned in "Boo-Boo and Benny: Little Buddy Trouble", though as a book character.
    • The three of them appear in-person at the end of "Epic Rager."
  • Fantastic Max.
  • Young Robin Hood.
  • Goober and the Ghost Chasers, or probably just Goober.
    • Confirmed; they all appear in "Frankenhooky."
  • Wilford Wolf.
  • Crazy Claws, Rawhide Clyde, Bristletooth, and Ranger Rangerfield.
  • Dirty Dawg, Ratso the Rat, and Officer Bullhorn.
    • Confirmed for Dirty Dawg in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Rat Race".
  • Characters from Where's Huddles?
  • The Herculoids.
    • Confirmed. Zandor made a cameo in an In-Universe movie in "Bleep".
  • Harvey Birdman.
    • In Epic Rager he's implied to be dead. So confirmed in a way.
  • Scare Bear, Captain Good/Phantom Phink and Clean Cat/Sinister Sludge.
    • Scare Bear appears on the Lil' Professional badge in "Balloon Kids".
  • Motormouse and Autocat.
  • The rest of the The Galaxy Trio. Gravity Girl appeared in "Jelly Wrestle Rumble", but we still need to see Vapor Man and Meteor Man.
  • Desert Flower, along with her parents Chief and Chiefess, Bob the "Faithful Horsie", Chuckling Chipmunk, Laughing Donkey, and game show announcer from The Good, the Bad, and Huckleberry Hound.
    • Desert Flower may turn out to be Huckleberry's ex-wife or something like that.
  • Lila Lioness, Snagglepuss's girlfriend.
  • An Age Lift version of Roxy Bear from Yo Yogi!.
  • Sheena and Zelda from the King's crew, and an explanation of why they left.
    • Confirmed. Zelda appears in "Girl, You My Friend!" though she's not associated with Sheena or the King's crew.
  • Scooby-Doo and the rest of Mystery Inc.—though only as brief cameos like the Flintstones.
    • Sort of... "The Big Stink" clarifies that Scooby-Doo is just a TV show in this world, though we only hear the music from it.
    • Confirmed in "Frankenhooky," where they appear briefly at the end of the episode.
  • Beegle Beagle. How come Grape Ape is here, but his best friend isn't?
  • Peggy Poodle. Either as Augie's literal Puppy Love crush or her best friend.

Characters unlikely to appear
  • Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang, due to them still being a successful ongoing franchise while the purpose of this series is to showcase the lesser-used characters in the Hanna-Barbera canon. That being said, they might appear in a special "crossover episode" rather than as regular characters.
    • Same goes for Tom & Jerry.
      • Surprisingly, Scrappy appears on a milk carton.
      • Jossed. The Mystery Inc. gang appeared in "Frankenhooky."
  • Pac-Man and anyone else from his series, although Mezmaron could be a one-off villain.
  • Any of the characters originally from sitcoms (The Fonz, Laverne & Shirley, the Dukes of Hazzard, the Partridge Family, etc.)
  • Josie and the Pussycats, due to them being owned by Archie Comics.
    • Jossed somewhat. Although the titular Pussycats are absent, Bleep from the Recycled In Space season appears in “Mr. Flabby Dabby Wabby Jabby” and “Bleep”.
  • The Smurfs, due to them being owned by Peyo, despite Warner owning the rights to the 1981 cartoon.
  • Any Gravedale High characters due to it being owned by NBC, despite Hanna-Barbera creating it.
  • All characters created by Hanna-Barbera for Cartoon Network (Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, The Powerpuff Girls, etc.) due to being CN Originals.
  • The SWAT Kats
  • Jeannie and Babu because the former is owned by Sony Pictures Television.
  • Characters based on live-action celebrities (Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, the Harlem Globetrotters, the Robonic Stooges, the Little Rascals, Bill & Ted, the cast of Dumb and Dumber, etc.)
  • The Super Friends and any other DC Comics characters.
  • Some of the lesser-used Wacky Races characters due to the rights issues that prevented them from appearing in the 2017 reboot.
  • The Pound Puppies, due to them being based on a toy line.
  • Godzilla, in part of being based on a Toho franchise popular and running to this day.
  • Richie Rich, as the rights to that character are currently owned by Universal.
  • The characters from The New Shmoo.
  • The Shirt Tales, as those characters were based on a line of Hallmark greeting cards.
  • The Addams Family. Using their 1992 counterparts here would probably cause a lot of confusion considering the 2019 versions of the Addamses are still being used.
  • Characters from animated feature films like Once Upon A Forest because they belong to different companies.
  • The Gobots, due to them being based on a toy line by Tonka which is owned by Hasbro.
  • The characters of Charlotte's Web, due to the movie being owned by Paramount
  • Hägar the Horrible, since it’s very unlikely Dik Brown would be willing to negotiate.

Characters unlikely to appear will be represented by expies
Characters in the above section will instead be represented on the show by original characters based on them. And just as with some of the characters who did make it onto the show, some of these expies will be gender-swapped from their original counterparts.

There will be a Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law Crossover Special.
Yogi will be sued for malpractice, and he'll have to hire Harvey Birdman to defend him. Alternatively, Top Cat'll be sued by the entire town of Jellystone for his scams and Harvey will be hired to prosecute him.

If Space Ghost appears he'll be voiced by George Lowe
Don't even try to pretend this wouldn't happen.

  • Jossed. While Space Ghost did appear at the end of "Bleep", he was voiced by Paul F. Tompkins.
  • However, Lowe did reprise his role in "Space Con."

There will be a Space Ghost vs. Birdman movie
And the plot of the episode will be everyone arguing over who's better.
  • Yogi will comment that these kinds of versus movies always end with the rivals teaming up against a greater threat.
  • References to the MCU and the infamous "Martha" scene can be expected.

Brak and his Family will move to Jellystone
Brak might even be a child, with his mother and father's antics being toned down and him befriending the neighborhood kids. Zorak probably won't be joining them on their move, or maybe come along and be El Kabong's sidekick.

  • Jossed. Brak and Zorak both appear as Adults in Jailcation and even retain their original villain status.

The Banana Splits are Older Than They Look
It's implied near the end of "VIP Baby You Know Me" that the events of the original show happened in some form. If one were to assume the events take place at the same time the show aired, this makes them at least forty years old.

Loopy De Loop has a reason for being a Deadpan Snarker
The original Loopy De Loop cartoons involved Loopy trying to do good deeds to dispel the negative reputation of wolves, with unfortunate results. The Jellystone Loopy used to be like this, but over time and after so many failures, she Stopped Caring. This could also explain why she gets along so well with Jabberjaw: sharks, much like wolves, are often portrayed in a negative light, although Loopy and Jabberjaw show this isn't always the case.

List of Genderflipped characters
Transgender:
  • Loopy de Loup
  • Jabberjaw
  • Squiddly Diddly
  • Bobbie Louie
  • Hardy Har-Har
  • Chopper the Dog
  • Dixie
  • Yappee
Bold = Confirmed (male in preproduction)

Female:

  • Augie Doggie
  • Yakky Doodle
  • All the female members of Top Cat's Crew (Brain, Spooky, and Choo-Choo)
  • Big H and Skids
  • Snooper

Ranger Smith will turn out to be a strict but Benevolent Boss
He is briefly shown in one episode to be the owner of the hospital where Yogi, Boo-Boo, and Cindy work. Should he make further appearances, he will have something like a Benson-Mordecai and Rigby dynamic with Yogi and Boo Boo, though with a downplayed version of Benson's Hair-Trigger Temper on his part.

The Banana Splits will get a new member
It will be Poppy Grace Armstrong - but rather than being somebody who was driven insane due to watching her fiancé getting chopped in two, she will still be a human female with a pet owl named Hooty. However, she is also an Ax-Crazy Loony Fan who the other Splits try to never mention again and fail, all as a heartwarming reference towards the movie.
There will be an Intra-Franchise Crossover episode featuring the original HB characters.
While every original would be disturbed by how Denser and Wackier their Jellystone! counterparts are compared to their standards, the male characters would be more bewildered by their Distaff Counterparts because of the way they were Gender Flipped while the female characters would be offended that Word of God didn't know many of them to use for the show.
  • This sorta happens in “Baby Shenanigans”. During the kids’ attempt to get everything back to normal, they somehow turn all the characters into their original designs (With Yogi in particular in pain throughout.)
The show could make references to certain [adult swim] shows.
Birdman might make an appearance either just being his usual superhero self or is actually retired and now works as a attorney note . If not possible they might even just reference the Stealth Sequel Birdgirl. Following this thread, they could even have Space Ghost make an appearance, still being a superhero or now having also retired and now working as a Talk Show Host. Heck, speaking of Harvey Birdman they could even have Peter Potamus say the iconic line.

Cindy will either end up temporarily fired or experience Laser-Guided Karma
In all the episodes where she was the one responsible for the town's destruction (like Yogi's Tummy Trouble), Cindy always refuses to admit her faults. It will all catch up to her, which will result in losing her medical license and other repercussions. She'll end up having more Character Development and become a better, humbler person that will take responsibility for her actions in the future.

Jabberjaw stalks El Kabong
She has a mad crush on him. She might even fake being in danger as a chance to flirt with him!
  • Surprisingly Confirmed, season 2 episode 1 is all about Jabberjaw trying to get a kiss from El Kabong

Lippy Lion and Hardy Har Har will have an episode centering around their wedding anniversary
And the whole town wants to celebrate their oldest members, with hilarious results, of course! How can there NOT be an episode about this?

Jabberjaw will wear a nosering at some point
As a slight reference to the character's design in the old music video.

Jellystone was built on Jellystone
This is an Alternate Universe where Jellystone Forest was never declared a National Park, and thus Jellystone was built in/over it. That's also where it got its name.

There will be an episode where El Kabong tries to find a sidekick.
The sidekick will, of course, end up being Bobbie Louie, but Kabong will go through a whole slew of rejects before getting to that point.

The Banana Splits being an evil gang could be retconned into them being parodic has-beens in later episodes due to cold reception to the first Seasons interpretation of them
I know this rendition of them is not beloved in any way but what if in Season 2 they changed? This would involve taking The Banana Splits, redoing them to make them exaggeratedly closer to the original Banana Splits, and juxtaposing them as wackier Disco Dan No-Respect Guy Butt Monkeys fitting in even less to this world while playing it for laughs. The first episode with the change could even do Lampshade Hanging on how the evil gang interpretation was rogue Jerkass method actors that The Original Splits hired because they were on vacation and needed someone to fill in for them and the method actors leave the show because The Original Splits accidentally injure them while performing the gang's fake charity stunt show for a Top Cat scheme and they decide to never work in Hollywood again.
  • You might not even have to use such an elaborate scheme for a possible Heel–Face Turn for the Splits (although, it wouldn't be too out of place considering how wacky it is). "VIP You Know Me Baby" already showed the Splits do have a soft side in them, and just love to perform onstage just as much as they did back in their greater years. Combine that with the fact their villain skills... er, lacking and maybe they might feel the need to become the fun-loving Banana Splits they used to be.

The Flintstones are fictional In-Universe
So far, Fred has only appeared as a graphic on a bowtie, and on a novel cover with Wilma. This suggests The Flintstones is a work of fiction in the Jellystone universe as it is in real life. It must have something to do with Hollywood Prehistory being now a Dead Horse Trope.

  • At least Baby Puss turns out to be real in "Ice Ice Daddy". Of course, saber-toothed cats did live at the same time as prehistoric people.
  • There's mention of a town called New Bedrock, but it remains to be seen whether the Flintstones live there or not.

The Banana Splits' horror movie is the In-Universe reason for the Splits being criminals.
As described in this Tumblr post, The King explicitly name-dropping the "Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe" implies that everyone in Jellystone is aware of the existence of movies featuring the HB characters, including the Banana Splits horror film. This caused everyone to fear the Splits, forcing them to become bad guys and give people a reason to fear and/or respect them. But they're not happy about it and yearn to go back to their glory days.

Winsome Witch is like the Jellystone equivalent of Jack Skellington.
Jack is in charge of Halloween, much like how Winnie is in charge of Halloween.

In addition, if Breezly and Sneezly ever show up, they could be in charge of Christmas, since they live in the Arctic.

Snooper is now Blabber's daughter
They made a cameo in "Spell Book", and Snooper has been gender-flipped. Blabber also now bears a double chin and a five o'clock shadow. Perhaps Snooper is like a daughter figure to him, and they still go around solving mysteries, but Blabber is a Hardboiled Detective.
  • Jossed in "The Box Thief", as Blabber is a full-grown adult.

Quick Draw McGraw will appear as a separate character from El Kabong and cause a ton of confusion around Jellystone
At first, it's believed that El Kabong has a secret identity, but then it's revealed that the two are different people and possibly brothers or Identical Strangers.
  • This series so far hasn't been so great at being able to know of the minor characters, but Quick Draw's Criminal Doppelgänger from the original shorts was named Horseface Harry, whose voice matches closer to El Kabong's. Perhaps Jellystone's El Kabong is Horseface Harry.
Bobbie Looey is going to eventually become the series' main antagonist in either a series/season finale or a potential tv movie
  • At the end of Business she directly admits that she wants to take over Jellystone and then the world and that it's not yet that time. A movie or finale of some sort continuing that plot could center around Bobbie at a town meeting where she tricks Mayor Huckleberry into selling the town of Jellystone to her to then use her 3rd eye powers to hypnotize nearly everyone in the entire town into mind-controlled slaves leaving only the 3 characters that appeared in the most episodes Augie Shag and Yakky who stayed home during the event out of not wanting to be bored as the only ones left that could save Jellystone and the world from her diabolical scheme.

The reason Ruff and Reddy are robots in this series
The original Ruff and Reddy, the first characters ever to come out of Hanna-Barbera, are now dead from old age, so robotic duplicates of their younger selves were built to replace them.

El Kabong and Bobbie Louie used to be close childhood friends but over time grew distant and now are just simply peers
Bobbie even played Kabong's sidekick once but after business school, she abandoned the role and she and Kabong barely interact due to busy schedules.
