i am so mad bro
Bob: what are you
Boyfriend: beep
Bob: you look stupid
Boyfriend: :( (Vine boom sound effect)

Oh no! Bob is angry and you made him angry!

But in all seriousness, literally every fnf mod ever (vs Bob week) is a joke Game Mod for Friday Night Funkin' created by wildythomas and phloxio that features Bob, a drawing-like creature that stars in a parody of the stereotypical FNF mod, with said mod taking a rather dark turn.

A second week, called "Bob's Onslaught", was released on July 10th, 2021, it also contained a small mini-ARG. Later on in early August, 2021, Bob and Ron would both be featured in a crossover week, guest starring in the Vs Bob And Bosip for "Bob's Takeover". In October 2021, Little Man 2 was released, with it focusing on a new song for the Optional Boss of Bob's Onslaught, Little Man... better hope you have some time to spare, and finally, on October 19, they received a crossover with Vs Cheeky in a week where the titular Cheeky, also from a Surreal Horror title, battles against Bob.

Song List

    Songs:
  • literally every fnf mod ever:
  1. "Sunshine"
  2. "Withered"
  3. "run"
  • Bob's Onslaught:
  1. "Ron" (Vs Ron)
  2. "Trouble"
  3. "Onslaught"
  4. "Little Man" (Vs Little Man) (Bonus Song)
  • Little Man 2:
  1. "Little Man 2"
  2. "Big Man" (Bonus Song)
  3. "Sadness" (Vs Tiky) (Bonus Song)

literally every fnf trope ever:

  • Alice and Bob: The main antagonist is a generic character who is meant to demonstrate the tropes of the typical FNF mod, and his name is Bob. Downplayed as there is no "Alice".
  • all lowercase letters:
    • All of the dialogue in the game, minus Hell Bob's dialogue, is written without capitalization.
    • Can't be seen in-game, but "run" is always written with a lowercase R everywhere else.
  • Animation Bump: Despite otherwise being rather unimpressive visual wise, Bob's animations are surprisingly fluid, as seen in the intro to "Withered", where Bob grabs the Speech Bubble and scrunches it up, then topped off with the intro cutscene to "run" where Bob unleashes his true form in a very fluid fashion.
  • Artificial Intelligence: The ARG for Onslaught reveals that Bob was created by an insane man called Lennon Noah who researched AI, possibly being an explanation for Bob's ability to mess with the game and open up web pages, however the ARG has been stated to not be canon to the Bob continuity (if there is one).
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Downplayed considering his rather bizarre status as a character and ambiguous motives, but in the end of the Little Man 2 week in "Big Man", Little Man ends up winning against Boyfriend when he dies trying to imitate his notes. However he dies soon after from lead poisoning apparently.
  • Berserk Button: Don't say he looks like Dream. Apparently Boyfriend hasn't learned this by the time of Bob's Onslaught, continuing to provoke him.
  • Body Horror: During the second song of Bob's Onslaught, Bob takes this odd half-form combining his "normal" form and his "run" form, with his Hell form dripping like he's covered in gunk.
  • Bilingual Dialogue: While it doesn't show up in game, Hell Bob's dialogue is in Amharic.
(Rough Translation: I've got you here, plus your girlfriend, and you will suffer and suffer for the rest of your life.)
ለማንም አያስቡም ፡፡ ማንም አይወድህም እና አፍቃሪ ልጃገረድህ በጭራሽ አይሳካልህም ፣ በሚያስደንቅ ላንዲን (Rough Translation: They don't care about anyone. No one loves you and your loving girl will never succeed, in a wonderful land)
  • Brick Joke: The beginning of "Ron" has the stock "This is a Certified Hood Classic!" meme audio play, but Ron starts singing before the audio finishes completely. The song ends with the audio properly finishing.
  • Button Mashing: Exaggerated in "run" as part of the parody; hitting every single note is practically impossible for a human to accomplish.
  • The Cameo: There's a rare chance for Spong to appear on the main menu of Bob's Onslaught.
  • Cerebus Syndrome: While Onslaught manages to be extremely more comedic than Week 1, stuff gets serious whenever Bob is onscreen; Instead of speaking Amharic and throwing a load of arrows to defeat them, Bob cuts all the silliness and crudely insults Boyfriend before battling him in standard FNF combat. It doesn't just extend to the game, though, the "ARG" for Week 1 merely had a website open that repeatedly stated that "Bob is mad" alongside a distorted Among Us parody song, the ARG for Onslaught, however, is unlocked thanks to a Google Drive link found in a Jump Scare after completing the song "Onslaught", that follows the story of a man called Lennon Noah, who apparently died in a gas explosion while developing something unauthorized in a company called Lankles Studios. Said man was also abusing his wife, to the point she filed a restraining order against him.
  • Content Warning: The opening of the game after Bob's Onslaught presents one of these with a very distorted screen, if it's your first time playing blind, this is your first warning that stuff is gonna go wrong.
Warning: This mod contains flashing lights and depictions of staring eyes. If you or a friend are affected by any of these, DO NOT PLAY.
  • Death by Adaptation: Pico, who is seen impaled on a stalagmite in the background of "run".
  • Denser and Wackier:
    • In comparison to literally every fnf mod ever, Bob's Onslaught, the latter drops the Take Thats in favor being weirder and much more comedic thanks to being more dialogue focused, though it does revert to its standard Disguised Horror Story when Bob starts to take action. Even in "Onslaught", comedic sound effects are played and random pop-up ads appear. This is in contrast to "run" from the first week, which has almost nothing intentionally comedic included in it.
    • Zigzagged with Little Man 2 as Bob has no mention in this mod at all along with his traditional creepiness, and mostly focuses on the memetically bizarre Little Man. However, it also alludes to a rather depressing life with the reveal that Little Man is an alcoholic, lives a lonely life, and seems to be dealing with depression over Ron's death to Bob. Until Boyfriend busts in through the window to pester him and then the long song with a ton of memes ensure.
  • Disguised Horror Story: Looks like a poorly-made mod with a poorly-drawn opponent. Then he gets pissed and reveals his true form as a disturbing Eldritch Abomination.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Bob is one, revealing his true form as a Living Shadow with realistic eyes called "Hell Bob" for "run".
  • Expy:
    • In the cutscene before the second song, Boyfriend says Bob looks like Minecraft Speedrunner Dream, a comparison he doesn't take kindly to.
    • Bob's mod is uncannily similar to Eversion as a whole. A protagonist in a world that begins cutesy and blue, however as the game progresses, stuff becomes distorted to the point of becoming a demonic hellscape, to bring more similarities, compare both the background and music for "Withered" and the 3rd layer, the sky even has the same tint. For Hell Bob, compare "run" and 7th layer, and that's without mentioning the Eversion ending, where it turns out the protagonist is yet another if not the Eldritch Abomination from his world, which is also pitch black except for the eye in their body.
  • Flipping the Bird: As a result of Boyfriend comparing Bob to Dream a third time before "Onslaught", Bob's reaction is to pull up a website of a middle finger image.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: This mod's rival is a white blob named Bob, who is also a reality warping Eldritch Abomination.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: If you lose to Hell Bob in "run", the mod will open up a website where Hell Bob stares at you with the caption "Bob is mad" on the top.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere:
    • More like Tiny Space Flea From Nowhere. After all of the main songs in Bob's Onslaught, the player has a bonus encounter with Little Man, with not a hint of context to the encounter.
    • The same could also apply to Ron, who appears out of nowhere for one song before being killed by Bob.
  • Hell: Pretty much the only way to describe the background of "run", as it appears to be a dark sky with swirling red clouds while humanoid bodies fall all around. Not helped by the fact that Bob's pitch-black form is literally called "Hell Bob".
  • Hell Is That Noise: At the start of the cutscene before "Onslaught", a loud scream can be heard in the background.note
  • Hijacked by Ganon: Ron is the starting antagonist of Bob's Onslaught, harassing Boyfriend and Girlfriend to start off the mod. However after "Ron", Bob kills him as he spawns into existence, having successfully tracked Boyfriend down.
  • Hypocrite: Bob ends up EXTREMELY pissed off at Boyfriend after the latter claimed he looked like Dream. However, he had no qualms about saying Boyfriend looks stupid at the start of everything.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Several characters suffer this at Bob's poorly drawn hands, namely Pico (in Run), Ron, and Boyfriend if he loses in "run" (if the bobismad website is blocked) or "Onslaught".
  • Interface Screw:
    • During "run", Hell Bob will constantly flash an eye on the screen, blocking the player from seeing both his inputs and their own inputs too, forcing them to memorize or guess the arrows. If you play the mod in windowed mode, then the entire window will vibrate from the shear force of Hell Bob's notes.
    • The final song Onslaught for Bob's Onslaught has Bob spamming Interface Screw to mock the trend of new character mechanics, including forcing the mod window to swirl around, making the arrows spin around, and opening up pop up ads to get in the way of the player's view.
  • It's a Wonderful Failure:
    • Losing to Bob in "Onslaught" leads to Boyfriend outright being impaled to death. Boyfriend also gets impaled if he loses in "run", though this only shows up if the website the game normally pulls up upon a Game Over is blocked.
    • In "Little Man 2", if Boyfriend loses, Little Man will transform into Big Man, sending Boyfriend flying out of his house to his death.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The Little Man 2 week's existence spoils Little Man's original purpose as a secret Optional Boss in Bob's Onslaught.
  • Marathon Boss: "Little Man" is a song that's EXTREMELY long, lasting almost seven and a half minutes long. "Little Man 2" ups the ante with it being 20 minutes long, the second longest song in FNF modding history as of its post.
  • Mechanical Abomination: Possibly. According to the ARG, there's an AI with the same name as Bob himself...
  • Medium Blending: Bob's Hell form features a prominent pair of hyper-realistic eyes that move much smoother than the rest of the game.
  • Mood Whiplash:
    • Just as Bob finally reaches his breaking point and enters his terrifying Hell form, the scene cuts to a second poorly-drawn screen apologizing for having no budget.
    • It is actually done twice in rapid succession, as seconds after the humorous apology screen is put up, Bob begins to talk, revealing his new look and immediately throwing the game back into Nightmare Fuel territory.
    • Bob's Onslaught is FILLED with this, mixed in with Bob's surprisingly creepy status as an Eldritch Abomination being a threat to Boyfriend... And yet the mod is also packed with meme sound effects, and opens up with the comedically sexist Ron before Bob tracks Boyfriend down.
    • "Little Man 2" begins with a genuinely somber cutscene of Little Man returning home and getting drunk, implying to be badly coping with Ron's death, and then falls asleep... before Boyfriend crashes through his window and challenges him to another rap battle.
  • Ninja Prop: After Boyfriend says he looks like Dream, Bob grabs the Speech Bubble before it smash-cuts to a poorly made apology screen. When we see it again in the cutscene before "run", its torn and trampled in several places.
  • No Fair Cheating: During "Run" and "Onslaught", the debug menu cannot be opened. Attempts to do so will result in a jumpscare with the words "you cant run"note , after which the game will crash.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Unlike what the name would suggest, "Sadness" isn't a cover/parody of "Madness" from The Tricky Mod, but rather a variant of "Little Man" with a Little Man version of Tricky, dubbed "Tiky".
  • Optional Boss: After completing the main three songs of Bob's Onslaught, the player has an opportunity to battle against Little Man in an extremely lengthy song.
  • Ruder and Cruder: Bob's Onslaught has the characters swearing much more often with its heavier focus on dialogue, in contrast to the more minimal dialogue in literally every fnf mod ever.
  • Rush Boss: "Onslaught" is only 1 minute and 20 seconds, surprisingly short for a Friday Night Funkin' mod song, but it has a fast pace and a multitude of gimmicks to amp up the difficulty.
  • Sequel Hook: If you can actually clear "run", then Bob vows never to forget the player. The "bobismad" site meanwhile has pages that suggest an update. Later, a sequel, called "Bob's Onslaught" was announced, and later released.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Bob's Onslaught has a direct shout-out being made to Vs Cheeky during Onslaught, which also happens to use advertisements to block the player's view. One advertisement even says, "We didn't know you had this idea first cheeky sorry :(" in direct reference to the mod being the first one to use advertisements.
    • During "Little Man", the titular Little Man suddenly turns into CalebCity for a good couple of seconds, using vocals specifically from his "Ayo the pizza here" video.
  • Silliness Switch: For those disturbed by Hell Bob, there's a "Happy Mode" that replaces the last stage with a much less disturbing (if even more poorly made) stage of lollipops and borrowed images, with Hell Bob's face replaced with scribbles of a smiley face.
  • Stunned Silence: In the Bob's Onslaught update for literally every fnf mod ever, Boyfriend's outright MORTIFIED in silence when Bob calls him stupid in the leadup to Sunshine (With a vine boom sound effect to emphasize this), in comparison to when he simply responded with ":(" in text.
  • Stylistic Suck: Bob is initially portrayed as a poorly-drawn (but smoothly animated) white blob creature. His background is also poorly drawn. This is averted during "run", with the background depicted as a painted red sky with naked humans falling into it. It can also be played straight if you select Happy Mode. It's also amusingly subverted by the intro to "run", since even though the intro claims the mod ran out of animation, this is following a sequence where Bob smoothly breaks his microphone and reveals his true nature.
  • Take That!:
    • To other FNF mods that follow the trend set after Vs Whitty, with the opponent starting off happy (or at least neutral), then pissed, and finally enraged, often transforming and/or unleashing their powers in the process. In fact, during the cutscenes, the animation runs out and we're treated to a poorly drawn apology screen. During "run", instead of an intense song, it's more or less Button Mashing turned up to eleven, with the final section a literal torrent of arrows, a jab at the fact that mods made during that time usually relied on an onslaught of notes with no rhyme or reason for the final song's difficulty.
    • Bob's Onslaught has Bob making use of the fact that mods have started including their own gimmicks and mechanics to a brutal degree, specifically mentioning "New mechanics, new layout, new everything." before the final song. And sure enough, his final song is PACKED with multiple mechanics to screw over the player, including but not limited to pop up ads getting in the way of the screen, invisible note lines, and a health drain mechanic linked with warning shot notes similar to that of Friday Night Funkin' HD Pico and black notes similar to fire notes in The Tricky Mod. Meanwhile, the Optional Boss with Little Man has the song being a parody of mods with extremely lengthy songs.
    • In Onslaught's secret song "Little Man", in between all the massive barrage of memes and leitmotifs is a moment at 3:39 where the song's instrumental becomes that of "Personal Space Invasion" from the infamous Vs Brightside modnote , said moment is abruptly cut by a loud sound reminiscent of diarrhea not too long after Boyfriend begins to sing, with an awkward silence afterwards. If it isn't direct enough, the musical video for the song has the Brightside developer's apology visible behind the background as the sound plays.
  • That Makes Me Feel Angry: After being defeated once, Bob tells Boyfriend in all lowercase letters "i am so mad bro".
  • Toilet Humor: The mod adds a "fart sound effect" in the main menu.
  • Turns Red: Parodied. After being sufficiently angered, Bob reveals his true nature as an Eldritch Abomination.
  • Vulgar Humor: Part of the "Little Man" song is filled to the brim with gratuitous swear words as a gag.

thats odd.
you people weren't meant to pass
especially you..
i can see you....
scared you with that one huh?
some day you're gonna forget me.
as for me.
