"...I have changed Leif. I am no longer an impetuous young girl, but instead a gorgeous maiden of depth and character. If it were necessary, I would not even hesitate to take a step backward so I might later take two steps forward and obtain an ultimate victory."

Leonidas: The activities of the north and the Ilian Church pose some complications, but we will deal with them swiftly in turn.
Mordecai: So you've already worked out a means to capture whole southern Grastaean board.
Ilia: You think it'll all go that smoothly?
Leonidas: I know not. But I needn't worry. There is a distinct pleasure in wresting control back from a plan gone awry and crushing your interloper without mercy.
Ilia: Yeesh. You are one seriously nasty guy.

Throughout the continent of Grastaea, there are many individuals who try to succeed against each other when it comes to manipulation and planning. These are the most cunning, charming, and devious among those who attempt to prosper in their lives.

All spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

Main Campaign

  • Alex is an assassin hired by the Church of Ilia to kill anyone whom they deem a threat. Under their service, she has taken numerous lives under the justification of redemption for accidentally killing someone in self-defense. Due to living in an orphanage with no parents, Alex donates her earnings to any orphanage she comes across. Eventually, she chooses to work for Leonidas before being redeemed by the paladyn Elisanne. Upon being framed for attempted assassination and serial murder, Alex realizes the culprit is her old friend Dorothy, who's trying to bring her back into a life of crime. Alex uses this knowledge to pretend to kill Elisanne in order to expose Dorothy and her client, stopping them both when Elisanne overhears their conversation. Vowing to never kill a human again, Alex proves to be effective and perceptive regardless of her allegiance.
  • Valyx is the fourth scion of the Alberian Royal Family and general of the main Dyrenell Imperial Army. After confronting Emperor Aurelius about the empire's wanton cruelty, Valyx reluctantly joined the effort under the condition of personally supervising imperial activities. Upon learning that Euden has established the Halidom as a safe haven for those under the empire's oppression, Valyx pushes him to become worthy of the title of royalty by gaining the people's faith lest he fall to the empire's might. Valyx is disciplined enough to resist sexual advances and prioritizes the safety of all of his troops, gaining their undying respect and admiration. A military genius and A Father to His Men, Valyx embodies the responsibility that comes with being a member of royalty.
  • Leonidas, known as the "World Ruler", is the first child of the Alberian royal family, and head of the city of Valkenheim who grows into a scarily competent planner. Due to the loss of his mother to a tornado caused by a dragon, he vowed to rid the dragons' influence over the world. Preferring to manipulate events so they will play in his favor, Leonidas allows an uprising to make enough progress to quell it in one fell swoop while also stabilizing his city's economy and enjoying a vacation. Even after being defeated by the heroes in a massive battle, he still wishes to unite the world while also using more benevolent means. Relishing the thought of "wresting control back from a plan gone awry", Leonidas proves he's willing to press on after a loss and intends to gradually win over the masses, culminating in him crushing the heroes in a rematch.
  • Chelle is the third child of the Alberian royal family and the ruler of the Radiant City, Chanzelia. During her invitational gala with Euden and Leif, she secretly tests their worth by donning a selfish persona to gauge their actions and mentalities. After using the heroes to destroy a pesky machine sent by the Dyrenell Empire, Chelle decides to assist the heroes in secret to avoid attracting the empire's attention. When Empress Zethia attempts to recruit the royal family to her side, Chelle pretends to join her side while secretly aiding New Alberia. This involves manipulating Emile into using androids while predicting the heroes' success in recruiting them. Being able to manipulate friend and foe alike using her "kittens", Chelle stands among the narrative's most successful schemers.

Events

  • Fire Emblem: Lost Heroes: Loki is a chaos-seeking villain who crosses into Grastaea. Once there, she joins forces with the Dyrenell Empire to cause trouble for New Alberia. When it becomes clear that the shared presence of Alfonse and Veronica will create ripples in the atmosphere, Loki makes an effort to prevent them from returning home by bringing an army of imperial soldiers to destroy ancient ruins that can return them home. Able to remain one step ahead of the heroes at every turn, Loki never drops her playful attitude, more than content with the amount of mayhem she's brought about in Grastaea.
  • Fractured Futures: Chronos is a dragon created from the remains of the six Greatwyrms who was sent from another world to serve Euden. While he appears benevolent enough to help him save his family from tragic events, he actually seeks to erase an alternate version of Zethia who came from his world, ensuring that no one will oppose his master, Emperor Euden. When Audric tries to stop him in a weakened state, Chronos attacks the ceiling, causing it collapse on him. Upon revealing his true nature to Prince Euden, Chronos offers him the chance to achieve greatness by becoming just like his Otherworld counterpart. Cold and manipulative, yet never dropping his polite attitude, Chronos stands out as one of Euden's most memorable adversaries.
  • Fire Emblem: Kindred Ties: Thórr is an evaluator of humanity's strength who seeks to draw out their full potential however she can. Invading the realm of Grastaea, she brings Alfonse and Sharena over so that their arrival would cause dangerous rifts in the unstable world, forcing the heroes to find a way to send them back. Thórr also sends Tiki with a mission to save the dragons to motivate her to fight. When the heroes find Alfonse, she hands him over to Empress Zethia to further test their limits. Thórr's approach involves driving the heroes to do their absolute best without resorting to excessive force, resulting in no permanent losses despite refusing to underestimate them. Respecting her enemies even in the most dire situations, Thórr leaves Grastaea with satisfaction after having witnessed the efforts her opponents demonstrated.
  • The Phantom's Ransom: Lapis, real name Belladonna and the current Blue Rose, is a thief who steals valuable goods from others and returns them to their original owners. She then has a perfect copy forged and places it where the original piece was stolen from. In The Phantom's Ransom event, Lapis manages to help stop a group of bandits who were impersonating her, raise money for her opera troupe, and bring out Karina's hidden talent in singing all without getting captured. After coming across a kidnapped girl who holds the secret to unlocking an ancient weapon, Lapis teams up with Euden's group to destroy the weapon and arrest the kidnapper. A Master of Disguise who radiates charm and wit, Lapis leaves Euden while offering her assistance in future endeavors, striving to "make the impossible possible".
  • Cursed Connections: Yoshitsune is the leader of the Rooster Wyrmclan of Hinomoto, who was born into an era where war and strife were commonplace. Due to an elixir that made her immortal, she realized the horrors of outliving one's friends and family, and sought her death by assisting the nefarious Mukuroshu. This includes helping the evil Doman infiltrate the Halidom and corrupt its mana to create the Underworld Key to summon the dragon Tsukuyomi. In doing so, she could meet Tsukuyomi in hopes of undoing her immortality. When Tsukuyomi appears a year later, Yoshitsune joins the effort in defeating her for good and earning the chance to die. Feeling no true loyalty to any faction yet still having moral standards, Yoshitsune chooses to leave to North Grastaea after the battle, hoping to be buried alongside her daughter.
  • Shackles of the Syndicate: Grace is a former member of an evil organization known as The Syndicate and now seeks to wipe them out. While working for them, she and her husband conducted research in merging humans with animals, even after their work was being revised for nefarious purposes. After mentally recovering from her husband's death, Grace resolved to team up with former members Aldred and Bellina to liberate prisoners who were being forcibly converted into Syndicate members, including the young Farren. When Aldred is seemingly killed by pushing a villain off of a cliff, Grace chooses to mentor Farren, ensuring he doesn't succumb to naivety and convinces him to think about what he's fighting for. Beautiful and sharp-minded, Grace is willing to get her hands dirty to secure the defeat of whoever she deems her enemy.
  • Faith Forsaken: Harle, the Black Raven, is a knight of Alberia and a keen tactician. After getting impersonated and banished to another world by the demon Loki, he forms an alliance with an alternate version of himself to conspire against this world's version of Leonidas. In reality, Harle is looking for a way to return to his home world, which is only possible by killing his twin. He does this by setting up a scheme that requires both parties to know what the other is planning. After proving to the twin's guards that his counterpart intended to sacrifice innocent lives to preserve resources, they leave in disgust, allowing Harle to kill his double in a sword duel. Harle then returns to his home world, helping to defeat the newly awakened Satan and remains in the shadows, vowing to never stray off the just path.
